  • Wanted to Like it Review by Laura (Posted on 3/7/2016)
    Overall Quality
My puppy is 10 months old and I was hopeful after reading the other reviews that he would like this pad so much, he wouldn't destroy it. We were only gone for 2 hours and it had several holes in it on the fuzzy side with stuffing everywhere. Needless to say, I wish I had gotten the other pad and cannot recommend this pad for any dog that might be a chewer!

K9 Ballistics Response: The LUX reversible crate pad is a luxury pad engineered for maximum comfort. It is not meant to be chew-resistant and should not be allowed unsupervised with a dog that likes to chew. For a soft, chew-resistant crate pad, please check out our TUFF Velvet Crate Pad!
  • Love my Dog Review by Molly (Posted on 3/4/2016)

I purchased this XL Crate Pad for my Lab mix. Lady is 9 years old and she has done amazingly well with the Pad. No complaints here. I highly recommend it. We lay it over an orthopedic crib mattress.
  • Mini Aussi Review by Yuki (Posted on 2/16/2016)
    Overall Quality
Bought two of these in two different sizes. One was for the crate and the other for the entertainment room. The one for the crate was chewed up in a couple hours. We did our best to fix it and repurpose it for our mini aussi to lay on in the living room. The larger pad has been great and our dog loves laying on it while watching TV.

K9 Ballistics Response: Please be aware this bed is made for comfort and is NOT meant to be chew-resistant! It should only be given to older dogs or well-behaved puppies that don't chew their bedding. For a soft, chew-resistant crate pad, please check out our TUFF Velvet Crate Pad.
  • Pulls bed out of crate Review by Erin (Posted on 2/16/2016)
    Overall Quality
My pup loves this bed! When she's not sleeping in the crate she will go into the crate and take the bed out to lay on in the room. The only complaint is that it's not very thick. I notice that when she is sleeping on it she will fold it in half herself and sleep like that. She's had problems with other beds in the past cause she likes to dig and she's ripped many beds before so this one is perfect since she can't ruin it.
  • 5 minutes of pleasure Review by Sherry (Posted on 1/27/2016)
    Overall Quality
I've been searching for the "right" bed for my 2 labs. I was so excited to come upon K9 Ballistics and the positive reviews. Last night, I set up a little bed area in our room for the dogs. The older dog was very content, but in a matter of five minutes the younger dog had already chewed a large hole in the middle of the pad along with stuffing everywhere in our room. He was so proud of himself. Now, I have a chewed up bed and am out $60. Disappointing!

K9 Ballistics Response: Please be advised that the LUX reversible crate pad is made for comfort and intended only for non-destructive dogs; it is not chew resistant. For a chew resistant pad, please check out our TUFF crate pad!
  • True luxury Review by Krista M. (Posted on 1/20/2016)
    Overall Quality
My greyhound loves this bed!! He often chooses to go into his crate to sleep for a bit now instead of sleeping on the couch which is basically unheard of. He is still a puppy so he has had a few accidents on it which had lead me to wash it a few times and though I've done it as the directions have said I still feel as though it doesn't lay as flat as it used to. Which is unfortunate but my Huey doesn't seem to be bothered by it! I'm hoping to buy the regular crate pad that is water resistant next until he stops having little accidents.
  • Not bad Review by jillian (Posted on 1/18/2016)
    Overall Quality
My dog started chewing the bed within the first evening of being in the crate. There are a few holes on the soft side of the bed but I think she realized how comfy and warm it is compared to the crate bottom and left it a lone. Therefore, must be worth the money for the dog to choose not to chew. Will most likely buy more when my other three dogs need new beds.
  • great quality Review by zachary (Posted on 12/15/2015)
    Overall Quality
Our pup shredded a cheap bed from petco which prompted our purchase of this bed. It's been a couple weeks now and it's holding up great. It's a high quality, well built bed.

I highly recommend this bed and we would definitely buy another.
  • So far, so good Review by Brittney (Posted on 12/15/2015)
    Overall Quality
The first night my bulldog slept in his crate with the Lux crate pad, he tore off the k-9 ballistics logo (tag). There's a tiny hole but he hasn't discovered it. I keep seeing black fuzzies on the floor from the soft side but he hasn't been able to chew it up yet.
  • The dogs love them Review by jo (Posted on 12/12/2015)

I use s multi pad system for my older, chewy, and often wet and muddy dogs. An orthopedic pad is on the bottom of the crate. On top of this, to protect it from being flipped over and chewed, and to keep it clean, is a crate pad. When the dogs come in wet and muddy, I toss a tuff blanket, folded in half, over everything, as they are the easiest to wash and dry. I have used this system for a year, and haven't had to replace anything. Now, with cold weather coming I'm trying the LUX pads in place of the crate pads. The dogs snuggle right into them, and so far haven't attempted to chew them. Still using a tuff blanket on top when needed, which keeps everything else clean and dry. Thank you SO much for, these products! I lost count of,how. Much I used to spend on dogs beds that just ended up shredded and thrown out.
  • So far so good! Review by Erik (Posted on 12/1/2015)
    Overall Quality
My dog absolutely adores chewing up anything made of fabric. So far, he's managed to put a dime-sized hole in the suede-ish side, but it pretty perfectly fits his crate so if I turn that side down he can't really get to it. He seems to like it and it's definitely lasted longer than anything else I've tried!
  • very happy! Review by Sharon (Posted on 11/19/2015)
    Overall Quality
So far so good! Our 1 year old pit rescue has separation anxiety so whenever we leave her in her crate she chews her pad into little pieces. I now have the Lux reversible pad and she hasn't chewed it at all. We did put her "old" pad (what is left of it) on top of the new one.... hoping that if she needs to chew she will just continue to work on her old one! She does "rearrange" both pads while she is in the crate but seems happy with the new arrangement, she hasn't chewed either! Will let you know how she does when we remove the old pad and leave her with only her Lux!

Our German Shepherd LOVES the new Lux mattress. Snuggles right in and makes it look very comfortable. Sorry that I'm unable to send you a photo.
  • Review by Jack (Posted on 12/21/2014)
    Overall Quality
Very good pad. Dirt shakes off easily and looks fairly comfortable. The padding is a bit thinner that I would have hoped for but it is a compromise between thick padding and something that easily fits into a crate. We use it for traveling as well as it molds to the back of the SUV well and is more easily maneuvered than a full dog bed. I give it a 4 rating only because I would hope for a thicker padding that still allows for the same versatility. Would I recommend it - yes.

I purchased this crate pad as well as the xx large bed for my 2 labs. They are 14 mos old currently. The crate pad was chewed through inside of 30 mins but the bed has held up beautifully.
  • Savvy Shopper Review by Jennie (Posted on 11/27/2014)

I gave a 5 kb Yorkie I crate when I am at work, and he gets cold easily. I ordered one and like it so much I ordered a second one. They wash well and are very soft but don't pile like others I had in the past. They fit the crate like a glove. Good quality.
  • Love this pad! Review by Jenny (Posted on 11/12/2014)
    Overall Quality
I chose this crate pad after my dog chewed up the foam insert of 2 crate pads in just under 1 month. I settled on this pad after doing my research online, and I couldn't be happier! It has only been a week, but so far I don't think Rocky has even attempted to chew on it. The fur side is so soft that he sometimes lays in his crate even when we are home! I washed it in my washer & dryer at home and it came out great. I would recommend washing it before giving it to your pet.

WOW, WOW AND WOW!!!! And yes, I'm excited because this is the first pad that Lily, our 16 month Aussie/Lab mix, has not chewed up!! She just loves this LUX Reversible crate pad so much - and can't quite decide which side she loves the most. Once she curls up on it, she's asleep right way. And she has not even tried to chew one bit of it! Thank you for such a wonderful product- I look forward to doing business with you again.
  • Love this Product! Review by Leslie (Posted on 10/19/2014)
    Overall Quality
My dogs love this pad! I previously ordered the original Tuff bed but my two one year olds (shepherd/American bull dog & black lab/rott) didn't like the thickness or noise. K9 sent me this pad and they love it! They lay on it together or usually push the other off to hog it for themselves. I definite recommend! It's a great buy.
  • Lux Reversible Crate Pad Review by Kay L (Posted on 7/23/2014)
    Overall Quality
This Lux Reversible Crate Pad was exactly what our new Rat Terrier rescue needed. He immediately curled up on it & went to sleep. Harley is 3yrs.,11lbs., & the x-small offers him plenty of room without being too big. We also use it in the car for travel. This is the only company I will buy dog beds, pads, etc. from. They never disappoint me. Once again we received a great product for a great price. Nice to know there is one company in the world still doing that! Kay Lux

Perfect size for the new crate we got for our new Aussie pup. He's tried gnawing on it and it seems bulletproof even with needle sharp puppy teeth!
  • LUX for Inside Review by Linda (Posted on 2/27/2014)
    Overall Quality
I have had a Tuff bed for the past two years that I keep out side for my dog. That bed held up so well I figured I'd try a new LUX bed for inside. Same great construction and beautiful fabric combinations. Very satified with this purchase.
  • Perfect Fit Review by Dianne A (Posted on 2/27/2014)

It is so great to find a company that has beds and covers large enough for my two Great Danes. These beds fit perfectly in their crates. They love the luxurious faux-fur!

LUX COVER™ TECHNOLOGY

tuff fur dog bed

LUX Faux Fur™

All of our LUX faux (not from real animals) furs are 100% polyester fibers, making them extremely stain resistant and very durable — nearly anything will wash out of these furs. LUX Faux Fur™ is made just for us with a special backing that removes most stretch and stiffens the fabric adding loft, durability, and serious strength.

tuff velvet dog bed

LUX Microsuede™

Our LUX Microsuede material is a thick polyester bonded to a woven layer of knitted poly-fibers. This bonding process adds strength to the already strong fabric. Because this fabric is polyester it has all of the resilience of a washable, synthetic furniture grade material, while remaining extremely soft to the touch. The thickness of the fabric gives it body and loft, making our beds look fluffier and more crisp, and because it breathes so well, no comfort is sacrificed.

machine washable dog bed

Machine Washable

Accidents happen, it's a fact of life; Murphey's law if you will. Having a machine washable dog bed helps clean up those accidents quickly and easily. For those messes that do not wipe away, let the machine washer do the work.

We recommend washing with cold water on a gentle cycle, and then air drying. The heat and friction of a machine dryer could shorten the lifespan of the bed, and we want our products to last as long as possible!

Indoor Use

Our LUX styles match many home interior design schemes, and an ever-growing color profile helps match existing furniture in your home. Where visual aesthetics are concerned, our LUX dog beds blow most other beds out of the water.

odor resistant dog bed

Hypoallergenic Material

Dust mites cause a large number of allergic reactions for dogs. Mold and mildew spores can also trigger allergic reactions. The sythetic fibers used in this cover prohibit dust mite invasions, and make life difficult for mold spores as well. These allergens require organic fibers to build their homes, and this cover uses a 100% synthetic fiber construction. Dust mites beware!

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is LUX Faux Fur™ and LUX Microsuede™?

All of our LUX faux (not from real animals) furs are 100% polyester fibers, making them extremely stain resistant and very durable — nearly anything will wash out of these furs. LUX Faux Fur™ is made just for us with a special backing that removes most stretch and stiffens the fabric adding loft, durability, and serious strength.

Our LUX Microsuede material is a thick polyester bonded to a woven layer of knitted poly-fibers. This bonding process adds strength to the already strong fabric. The thickness of the fabric gives it body and loft, making our beds look fluffier and more crisp, and because it breathes so well, no comfort is sacrificed.

Is this bed machine washable?

Yes this bed is machine washable, though we recommend air drying. To wash, simply place the entire pad into the machine and wash with cold water on a delicate cycle. Do not put this bed in a machine dryer, as the heat and friction will weaken the material and shorten its lifespan.

Can this bed be used both indoors and outdoors?

We designed the LUX Series™ covers for indoor use, and do not recommend them for outdoor use. The polyester fiber material can attract dirt more quickly than our TUFF Bed Series™, and will require more frequent cleanings. That said, many customers use this bed in covered back patios, and it suits their dog's needs perfectly.

Is this bed hypoallergenic?

Yes this bed is hypoallergenic because we use 100% synthetic fiber construction from the cover down to the stuffing inside the mattress. The sythetic fibers used in this cover prohibit dust mite invasions, and make life difficult for mold spores as well. These allergens require organic fibers to build their homes, and this cover uses a 100% synthetic fiber construction. Dust mites beware!

Is this bed chew resistant?

We designed the LUX Series beds for serious comfort for your dog, and they should be enjoyed by mild mannered canines who don't chew up their bedding. This bed is not chew resistant. Our synthetic fiber covers are tough and will outlast similar luxury style beds under normal use scenarios. Chewers, diggers, and scratchers will find this cover a tasty appetizer before digging into the main course: a messy mattress. We've found this bed to be a great reward for dogs who have learned to stop chewing and take care of their things.
