  • Great bed - worth the price Review by Lindsey (Posted on 11/27/2017)

As would be expected the material is a little tough so we have draped an old blanket over the bed to add some warmth and coziness. Our dog absolutely loves it. We are very excited to not come home to filling thrown around the house.

Great bed, it's only been a few days but he has not chew it up yet and he loves to sleep in it.
He has destroyed all the other beds in about 2 weeks!

Immediate hit with all three dogs in our family (ranging from 40 to 75 pounds) when we bought it primarily for one of them. Durable, great nesting potential. They love it. And it looks nice enough in our living room that I don’t cringe every time I walk by it.

These beds are really great! We could have saved a lot of money at Walmart if we knew about these before, and purchased them in the first place.

Wonderful bed! Well-made, looks great, and our dog loves to lie in it. He likes to rest his head on the side. Will recommend to my clients. I am a companion animal veterinarian.

The bed is a good quality bed. The dog will actually get in this one. I got her the original but she doesn't seem to like it. I would give it 5 stars but you couldn't get the name put on this one.

  • Best quality Dog bed made Review by Shamo (Posted on 7/14/2017)
    Overall Quality
Top notch quality and service. My German Sheppard puppy ate her first beds then I got her this one. this is her second K9 Ballistic bed, her first bed kept her warm in the garage during the cold winter nights. We recently got this one to have in our truck and RV while we travel. It's hard to get her out of it she's so comfortable. It's also Easy to clean
  • So far, so good! Review by Jo (Posted on 7/12/2017)
    Overall Quality
We've had it one week and so far, so good. We are taking it with us on our vacation and I'll let you know how well it holds up over the next two weeks. It fits our Doxie perfectly and he seems to really enjoy the comfortable surroundings. After going through 6 or 7 beds, I'm hoping this one works! ~ Jo Winslow
  • Great Quality Review by Pam (Posted on 7/10/2017)

I have ordered 4 beds from K9ballistics and they have all been great. My dog is a chewed, and loves to chew all other items besides his toys. He destroyed a bunch of new regular beds before getting these. He doesn't even try to chew these. These beds are indestructible and will probably last forever. If your dog is chewer, this is the way to go

Great bed, my wife and I have 6 rescue dogs. We should have bought 6 deep den beds, the dogs loves these beds.
  • Durable Review by Lisa (Posted on 6/30/2017)
    Overall Quality
The quality of the bed is great. No problems. However, I have to say that this bed is not my dogs' first choice. I have three small rat terriers and I bought this bed because one of my dogs chewed up the round, fuzzy bed that I had from Costco. Those beds were their absolute favorite. Because this bed is not as soft or fuzzy, they don't much care for it. Very spoiled I guess. But the bed is exactly what u was looking for in terms of durability.
  • Dog tennis balls bouncing over the fence before bed Review by Shaun (Posted on 6/23/2017)
    Overall Quality
Good so far - dog loves it I think. I mean, I can't read his thoughts and stuff, but I'd say he's pretty swoon with it. My dog has destroyed 2 of his previous beds from a major Pet retailer. However, the K9 Ballistics bed, clad in camouflage, has not yet been destroyed.

    Maybe he doesn't see it.
  • Amazingly Strong and Tough Review by Manny (Posted on 6/6/2017)
    Overall Quality
OMG this thing is made like a tank... It is very substantial, very heavy and the material is super strong. The pee repellent coating works! My dog Bolt immediately peed on it as always...
There is only one weak spot he has already found. The interior seam black strip is already being targeted for destruction. Perhaps this needs a metal band or something :P

Thank you so much for a great product. So far so good.
  • Definitely the best beds we have ever bought! Review by Kelley (Posted on 5/23/2017)

Very pleased with both of the deep den dog beds we bought. They are sturdy yet comfortable. So far my little "chewmiester" has not tried to gnaw on either bed.

  • Holding up great but size guide a bit off. Review by Jac (Posted on 5/18/2017)
    Overall Quality
THe dog bed has held up great but is a bit small for my dog. I used the size chart on your website and my dog was on the smaller end. On another note, some how the print of the bed got screwed up (it was supposed to be black) I called immediately and asked if it could be changed, as in with in 12 hours, and was told Id have to pay the restocking fee, I thought that was BS... But he hasnt destroyed it and thats what really matters.
  • Fabulous product/Crate Mat Review by Courtney (Posted on 5/7/2017)
    Overall Quality
I tried this out on a whim because every bed we bought was getting torn up in the wash and my dogs would chew on them. I bought one just to see and absolutely loved it. I got the crate mat, I was afraid it'd be too thin but it wasn't. I like to wash it weekly to keep hair and smell down and so far it's still in tip top shape after weeks and weeks of use!!! I loved it so much I bought two more for my other dogs!! Next will be a bed for them!!! Thank you K9 Ballistics for making such a fabulous product when no one else did and the price is truly worth it!! I would have surely spent more one the constant replacing of the cheaper beds!

  • Tough, durable, comfortable, HIGHLY recommend! Review by Carol (Posted on 4/30/2017)
    Overall Quality
LOVE these beds! We have a 75-lb lab-pit mix and a 75-lb labradoodle. The lab-pit mix is the bed destroyer. He loves to "relocate" his beds by pawing them to move them. This trick ended up tearing holes in the fabric coverings of all his prior beds. We've had the K9 beds for a few months now and they are totally intact. The lab-pit mix has pawed the bed enough to pull the padding insert out several times (in an effort to move the bed), but even this hasn't damaged the bed. I have noticed the covering doesn't get the doggy smell like fabric bedding, as a matter of fact, there has been no odor at all. I occasionally wipe the inside of both beds with a cloth dampened with warm soapy water just "because" and vacuum any dog hair and dirt that collects from the crevices just to keep them clean. We bought one large and one medium sized bed. Both dogs can fit in the large bed, but not if curled up in ball. The medium-sized bed is perfect for one curled up. As mentioned by other reviewers, the covering is a bit noisy as the dogs are moving and circling before settling down, but we gladly trade a bit of rustling sound for a great bed. I know the price sounds a bit high, but if I add up how much money I've spent for bedding in the past that had to be trashed, the cost of these beds is a bargain. They are easy to care for, tough as nails and yet comfortable, and our dogs love them. I recommend these beds to anyone.

We went through two dog beds quickly before turning to K9 Ballistics for a tougher bed. We wish we did it earlier! Our English bulldog gets in and out easily but loves the raised edges to rest his head on. Although we are training him not to scratch or bite on his bed in the meantime he hasn't been able to damage it at all!
  • Happy Review by Donald (Posted on 4/26/2017)

Let me start by saying, i was not knowledgeable about K9Ballistics.
In my research on pet beds i had narrowed it down to two companies that had high side walled ballistic 1680 denier ripstop nylon. I chose K9ballistics to order my pets bed.
    • I received a confirmation email the
same day and the order was at my
    door 2 days latter
  • Great bed Review by Alex (Posted on 4/22/2017)
    Overall Quality
I bought 2 beds and I love them but one of them has gotten a hole in it. Does this qualify for a new one to be shipped to me? They are great beds but I was surprised to find a hole that my dog had made.

K9 Ballistics' Response: If your dog has chewed a hole, please email a photo of the damage along with your order information to our warranty team at [email protected] so that they can have a replacement sent out.
  • Deep Den Dog Bed Review by Hayley S. (Posted on 4/15/2017)
    Overall Quality
My dog is a 65 pound Weimaraner who fits perfectly in the size Medium bed. He likes to curl up in a small ball so the medium bed fits him perfectly. The material is very durable and has proven to be un-chewable thus far!
  • High quality product Review by CreekGal (Posted on 4/12/2017)
    Overall Quality
I recently bought 2 of the Deep Den dog beds for my 2 boisterous golden doodle mutts. The dogs are about 75 pounds each (large, but SKINNY dogs...they could probably go about 90 pounds if they ever fill out). I bought the beds in size Large. They have plenty of room to curl up or spread out.

They do a lot of "digging" to make the beds perfect for their comfort, and I'm confident they won't do any damage. The beds seem to be very high quality. It's a little noisy at night when they're moving around or digging while changing positions, but it's not an issue.

We bought the dog beds so we could kick the dogs out of OUR bed. It's been a couple weeks, and they seem perfectly happy to be in their own beds and haven't snuck up on our bed once since we got them, so they must be pretty comfortable. I like the nice high sides. It's a very supportive bolster for them to lean their backs against, or rest their heads on. Great product.

I'll probably buy 2 more beds to keep in the main living area of our house, to...hopefully...get them off the couch. I'm an eternal optimist.

  • Best Durable Dog Bed EVER!! Review by Claire (Posted on 4/11/2017)
    Overall Quality
We recently got a lab mix puppy, who loves to chew and destroy anything and everything (beds, toys, pee pads, shoes, kitchen cabinets, etc.). He successfully ripped apart 2 beds before we got this Deep Den Dog Bed. After having this bed for a few weeks now, I can definitely say that this was money very well spent! He has yet to rip it apart, and after one fruitless attempt, he seems to be giving up on the idea of destroying it. Would definitely recommend for anyone who read the brief description of my puppy above, and thought, "Dear God, that describes [fill in dog's name here]!!"
  • Great for some types of chewers Review by KK (Posted on 4/7/2017)
    Overall Quality
I have two dogs, and one has destroyed 3 dog beds in the last year. He's a 45lb pit mix and when he wants attention or is upset he starts shaking his bed, running around the house with it, and taking bit chomps at it. For this type of chewer, I think this bed will hold up. This bed is much heavier than his last one which cuts down his ability to move it. We got the lattice patterned one which has a fuzzy fabric on the inside. He's managed to basically rub some of the fuzz off the fabric when he chews, but not break through the fabric itself (meaning there is no hole, just a bald spot). The fabric is very heavy duty and the stitching seems solid. Usually he rips things from shaking them so much, but this bed can take that.

I take away one start because I can tell there are other dogs this wouldn't work for. Our other dog, when younger, used to chew a lot. Her style was more small, meticulous gnawing. If you gave her a plush toy she'd find the weak spot, usually the seam, and nibble away at it; given a rope toy she pulls it apart string by string instead of just chomping at it. She doesn't chew now that she's older, but if she still did she'd destroy this bed.

There's one big weak spot - the logo tag sew on the side of the bed. The tag is thick and I believe leather. Because of how thick it is, it isn't flush with the fabric and the dog can grab onto it. One day our current chewer happened to grab the bed by the tag and started tugging at it. I caught him in the act and stopped him, but the corner of the tag is every so slightly pulled away from the fabric now, and you can see that the thread holes are stretched from the tugging. I imagine if he had a lot of time to tug at the tag, or if a gnaw-er like our other dog got at it, the tag could be pulled off and rip the fabric.

TL;DR...Every dog is different so it won't work for everyone. I'm very happy with it and it's already survived more abuse than any other bed we've tried.
  • Fantastic bomb-proof, cozy bed? Yes, it's possible! Review by Chundo (Posted on 4/4/2017)
    Overall Quality
So thrilled to find a chew-proof bed! Forget about hedging your bets and going with one of those dubious beds from other companies that might not be tough enough. This thing is amazing. My large Shiba Inu loves using his bed as a giant stuffed animal - flings it around, pulls on it, chews, digs. He ripped the Sean open on his last bed from Carolina Pet Company in two days and it was downhill from there. This fabric is super tough, the construction is great quality, and the softer/velvety fabric that gets all the digging looks totally fine. My Shiba also just loves lying in it. He digs and curls up or stretches out and rests his head on the edge. It's so great having a bed I don't have to protect from being destroyed.
  • Bed is nice for dog, but not 'chew proof'. Cover can't be removed for washing. Review by Sue (Posted on 4/2/2017)
    Overall Quality
Even though our dog appears to like the deep den dog bed better than the last bed bought from K9 Ballistics... the design seems to encourage chewing. She had a hole chewed through the bed within the first day. I liked the last bed we bought from K9 Ballistics as it had a removable cover for ease of washing.

  • Great Bed, Great Retreat Review by Ryan - Chicago (Posted on 3/29/2017)
    Overall Quality
Our dog loves this bed and has slept in it both day and night since we received it. Although the bed says chew proof, our dog has not really had any interest in chewing it, but rather looks at it as her place of respite. Thanks K9 Ballistics Team, this is a great product.
  • Great! Review by Ann (Posted on 3/28/2017)

My corgi puppy loves this and he hasn't been able to tear up any of it. He's chewed on it with dagger teeth and tried to dig a hole in it with monster claws. He leaps in and out of it chasing his toys. He's torn up everything else, but not this sturdy product. Highly recommend for aggressive chewers!

  • Great bed! Holds up great against a destructive dog! Review by Jose (Posted on 3/21/2017)
    Overall Quality
We bought this dog for our Staffy mix who has destroyed three beds thus far. However, this bed seems to be holding up amazingly well! Our pup loves the bolstered edges, and seems to feel very safe and comfortable within its walls (key for us, since she has some anxiety issues as a result of being a shelter dog). We were also pleasantly surprised to see how easy the bed is to clean. Our daughter's dog decided to mark the bed as his own, but the bed was decently easy to clean, and the bottom separates from the side to be thrown into the washing machine. Love the bed! Great decision to purchase!
  • too small Review by Maranda (Posted on 3/21/2017)
    Overall Quality
measurements not accurate- my bulldog could not fit in the bed even halfway- i sent it back and got the original tuff bed for her.

K9 Ballistics' Response: With beds like these, please choose the size according to the inner sleeping dimensions of the bed. The thick walls will take up some of the available space, so the outer dimensions should only be used as a reference for if the bed is going to fit in a specific space. You should measure your dog from nose to rump and compare that against the sleeping dimensions listed under the SIZE GUIDE tab to choose the best size.

Bella and I love this bed. She has destroyed at least 4 other beds. She fluffs the beds until they get a tear and some fluff sticks out..and then it's on. Fluff everywhere!!! This bed is holding up well so far.
She ripped the corner of the crate pad I purchased. I did not tie it down at first. After I repaired it and tied it down she has not been able to get to the corners. I tell everyone I see in the doggie isles at stores about this site!!! Oh I liked your site on Facebook?? Was there something about a free gift???

So far so good. The crate mat I purchased, she chewed the corner and fluff was everywhere. I repaired the mat and secured it to the crate. Bella, our 35 lb. dog, has not been able to damage it further. Now the bed...she "fluffs" it like crazy, you would think she is tearing it up. It is holding up pretty good so far. I have been through at least 3 other beds. I am so glad I found this site, I tell everybody I see about this site. Also I liked you on Facebook, have purchased two items, and have not received my free gift. Thanks

K9 Ballistics' Response: We send out a free tennis ball if you like our page on Facebook. We're sorry if you did not receive it, and we'll get one sent out to you right away.

  • Best Dog Bed. Ever. Review by Cheryl (Posted on 2/19/2017)
    Overall Quality
Shortly after I brought my two 2 1/2 lb Chinese Crested
Hairless puppies home, they destroyed the first regular dog bed I had gotten. There was stuffing everywhere,
and I was concerned they would chew on the fuzz and
swallow it. I ran out to buy another bed...which had
the same fate as the first. After running a search for
a chew-proof dog bed, I found K-9 Ballistics. The puppies, who have doubled in size, have slept in
their Deep Den Dog Bed for two months and there's not
only no sign of damage (though I hear them scratching at it) and it has never needed more than surface cleaning. They love cuddling up in it, and I could not
be more pleased with the quality. Highly recommend!!

I ordered the small. I have a cheweenie rescue dog 10lbs. She loves this bed, it's a little big for her but it's just perfect with a blankie. She'll play, sleep or just sit in it and rest her head on the edges and look around. This is a quality bed. Glad I spent the money. She can't tear this one up that's for sure, it's tough enough for her little claws and teeth.
  • Excellent Dog Beds Review by Cathy (Posted on 2/10/2017)
    Overall Quality
Absolutely wonderful dog bed. From the minute I removed both beds from their boxes my dogs jumped into their new secure haven. The material is stronger than any dog bed I have previously purchased, however the pillow inside is nice and soft. These appear to be the strongest and most comfortable beds I have purchased for our ten and eleven month old puppies. It does not appear that either puppy will be able to shed these to pieces when I am not looking. The cost may be higher than those found in a local pet store, but you get what you pay for! You cannot go wrong with K9 Ballistic dog beds.
  • dogs love it Review by Sarah (Posted on 2/1/2017)
    Overall Quality
I gave a medium den bed to my mom, who boards dog at her grooming business. the dogs seem to love snuggling in between the walls for security. I got the all black one which has the smooth material all over, so my mom lays a blanket inside so that it is softer. Her boarders aren't big chewers so nothing to report in terms of damage. The bed is easy to clean but a little smaller than expected; the walls are really thick. I think if you are undecided about sizes it would be safer to go with the next size up.

  • Great beds ! Two paws up ! Review by Dog Mom (Posted on 12/27/2016)
    Overall Quality
Both dogs love their beds, purchased a medium for a Border Collie and large for an Aussie. But the Aussie will sometimes use the medium one, which might be a little snug, but he seems to like them both. It could be that the medium has the softer material inside. They appear to be really well constructed, and easy to wipe down for spot cleaning. I love the material, and believe they will last a long time.

Both dogs love their new beds. They love the deep sides
And the bigger dog, now and then, even likes to sleep in the smaller bed. Purchased two of the deep den style.

  • Great Dog Beds!! Review by PHP (Posted on 12/19/2016)
    Overall Quality
I've purchased 2 of the deep den dog beds and my dogs LOVE them! As it's now winter in the NE, I have added a couple of plush throws tucked in the beds and they love to nestle in them.
One dog is part Basengi/Shepard (47 lbs) and the other a Chiquaqua/terrior (13 lbs). I got Large and Medium dog beds to give them room to stretch out a bit. Sizing the dogs was a little challenging since now the bigger dog likes to curl up in the smaller dog's bed and vice versa (maybe I should have gotten Medium and a Small?)!

We love the way it looks in our home, and our dog is in heaven. She is a 85lb Bully, and the XL gives her enough room to stretch out, but still tuck her head up under the side when she wants. She dove into it the day we brought it home, and it is her preferred lounging spot through-out the day and for night sleeping.

An excellent bed! And true to size--the small size is for a small dog. My medium-sized dogs have taken over the small bed, but the sides pop back up after they get through smushing them down. I'll be getting a couple of bigger ones.

Surprisingly Hunter has not been able to ruin it like other beds we have tried! He loves the bolster edge so he can curl up! I only wish I ordered the larger size as Hunter has grown. He still goes in there because he loves it LOL, but it is definitely too small!

I am very satisfied with the quality of this bed and I have recommended
    It to others!

I have a xoloitzcuintli (mexican hairless) who is about 18-20lbs. He can be pretty picky when finding places to lay down and he always wants to be covered up. So far he really seems to like the deep den since he has plenty of room to nest. I just throw a blanket in there and he burrows under it and is very content. The material seems pretty soft/plush and is still durable. I love that its machine washable. I am very pleased with it to this point!! (and so is my dog!)
  • Basil loves his Deep Den Bed Review by Teresa (Posted on 10/28/2016)
    Overall Quality
At first I bought your other versions that are more chew proof and he still managed to chew them but you all sent replacements and he still uses them under "supervision". But Basil loves his den bed better. At first you didn't recommend that I got this bed because it wasn't as chew proof as the other but I found that if he isn't left alone with his bed he doesn't chew it so I took the risk and so far it still lives! The other bed still lives too however I had to go in and take some of the stuffing out because it was so much he would just roll off of it. Basil has now has two beds to chose from and he loves both of them.

I look forward to continuing to buying your beds in the future if the need arises. Thank you very much.
  • Scout's favorite place! Review by Jane (Posted on 10/28/2016)
    Overall Quality
We were a little concerned buying the TUFF Velvet Dog Bed for our 3 month old (at the time) puppy, knowing she would likely chew it, but not knowing how much. But, she likes to sleep curled in a ball and was having trouble settling down and just relaxing on just the rug, so we thought we'd give the bed a try. We already have the TUFF crate pad and she had never tried to chew that, but it can be a little noisy when she moves on the fabric, so we tried our luck. She LOVES this bed. We bring it with us to which ever room we are in (since we still don't trust her alone yet!) and she'll settle right in. If we don't, she's more likely to whine and bark to get out - but once that bed appears, she hops in and calms down. Luckily, she hasn't been an aggressive chewer, but the bed has gone through teething and was chewed on then. Some razor sharp puppy teeth did puncture the velvet fabric on the bolster in a couple of places, but they haven't gotten worse, and she's ignored the small holes so she hasn't done any more damage. The bed has also gone through the wash too and came out looking great!

Overall we're so glad we bought the bed - it's quiet (not as noisy as the other material), and comfy and cozy for the pup, durable enough for what we need, and Scout's favorite place to be in the whole house!

We have a two year old German Shepherd named Addie, and yes, she absolutely loves this bed. We keep it in our bedroom, and she sleeps on it almost every night. She did chew on the bed when we first bought it (and she is a big time chewer), but it held up very well. Thankfully, she has finally matured enough that she has stopped chewing. We would highly recommend this bed to anyone looking for a resilient, high quality product for their pet.
  • Impressive! Review by Susan (Posted on 10/28/2016)

Your dog bed is great. My girl dog is funny and came to me at 9 months, afraid of unknown things. She's 5 1/2 now but is still spooked by stuff. The bed makes a funny noise due to what it's made out of. That spooked her for about a week then she finally used it. (I took away her crumbling foam bed.). It's been a great bed, holding up well. Keeps her warm and off the cooler kitchen tiles. She only chews if we leave her overnight at a boarding kennel which we haven't done with her bed, yet. Otherwise, the bed should last. I like the color and pattern on it, too.

I bought 2 actually! Bought the first for my chewer and our non chewer claimed it! So I purchased another smaller one for him. They must love the bed cause they will race each other to get the larger bed when it's lights out. The bigger (&younger) dog will make the smaller one work when he loses the race.
The only complaint would be from the humans. They will scratch and claw to make it more comfy and the material is tough so can be noisy! I will take that over replacing and cleaning up a chewed up bed every few months!
  • Thanks for making a great product! Review by Pam (Posted on 10/27/2016)
    Overall Quality
I have gone through A LOT of dog beds. Between them getting peed on when they were puppies and not being able to properly wash them to them loving to chew them up. This is the ONLY bed that they use and do not abuse. They especially love the side where they can rest their heads. I have a great dane mix and he uses it the most. The one thing that they are starting to do that I do not like is hide their toys between the mat and the walls. This isn't that big of a deal since I like that the inside mat can be removed.

I didn't think they would initially like it since it didn't seem 'comfortable.' Since it's so heavy duty, it just felt rough, but that did not deter them from still sleeping in it. Even my cat likes it.

So, even though the price was a little scary, it was definitely worth it since it will probably last forever!

  • Nesting Bed Review by Marc (Posted on 10/27/2016)
    Overall Quality
My rescued greyhounds (2) love this bed and it is hard to believe which one of them likes it more, my dogs are not chewers but nesters. This bed works great for the nesting type dogs as they can do the digging and rearranging of the bed insert without it tearing! The ballistic material is phenomenal and allows the dogs to feel safe and comfortable. We love the bolstered edge as it provides a sturdy backing for my pets to rest against without caving in, this is a fantastic product for the nesting type larger dogs and I would highly recommend your product. Thanks for a great bed!!

The TUFF dog bed is working very well for us. The previous beds and crate pads that we had bought our dog chewed up and destroyed within weeks. The TUFF bed has lasted many months now and has no damage at all. Our dog sleeps in this bed every night and often when she gets excited she will grab the bed in her mouth and drag it all over the room. We have recently rescued another puppy who loves to sneak into the bedroom to get in this bed when the other dog is not looking. We will likely be buying another one soon for this puppy after it grows a bit and we know how big it is going to get. Thanks for making a solid product.

My dog doesn't actually chew on stuff but she does love to root around and fluff her bed lol. I like beds made of the canvas style material like this one on the outside due to the hair not sticking to them and making cleaning them much easier, just a quick vacuum to the inner cushion then toss in the machine. She likes being snuggled inside her beds as well which is why I chose the bolstered round one. It's a win for my girl so since she loves it I'm happy it's holding up and her comfort and happiness are what's important. Been looking at getting another one to place in another room in the house so I don't have to carry it around lol.

It's great and Penny loves it. Only thing is that it's loud when she moves around in the night. Ie, if we put her in our room we hear her and don't sleep well...but truly not a worry. She loves it, it's bomb proof and washes really easily and well.
    It's a hit.

My dogs love it and are in it as much as they can be! We don't have a big chewing issue since we don't let them on it without us home to watch them.
My only issue with it is that the website said it was machine washable... But there's no way to fit it in a normal washer, it's way too big! So I have a hard time cleaning it.

Other than that it's absolutely wonderful!

We got this bed for Jack, a 40 lb lab/terrier, 9 months old. Jack is a little crazy and love the bed because the can jump in it, scratch it to make his bed cozy as he wants. Two weeks and it is still in one piece - that is saying a lot for this bed.
  • NOT CHEW PROOF Review by Justin (Posted on 6/17/2016)

We ordered this bed in the TUFF ripstop ballistic material, received this bed on a Friday, by Saturday afternoon, my dog chewed a hole in the side of the "den". On Monday, I contacted K9 Ballistics and they shipped a replacement bed right out. They suggested that I spray the sides with bitter apple spray to keep the dog from chewing it, which I will do with the new bed when it arrives. The dog has used the inside portion of the bed since it arrived and seems to like it.

I give the customer service a 5 out of 5, but the bed a 2 out of 5.

I bought this bed cause my puppy who is 6mos. Kept chewing at his other bed. Well after the first day of him trying to chew it and he didn't get very far he gave up and stopped chewing at his bed. Now he has a bed at his aunt house which is not from here or chew proof he doesn't chew cause I guess he figures that bed is the same. So I highly recommend this company for pups on up. Best thing ever made!!! I love it!!

Our dog was a little intrepid at first about this bed replacing the previous one she had torn to pieces. However, once she crawled in the first time she was in love. She sleeps there every night and loves to drag the bed around the room. It has held up very well to her dragging it about.
  • Didn't work for me Review by Lori (Posted on 3/18/2016)
    Overall Quality
Didn't stand up to my dog! Within three hours of being left in her kennel with this bed she had reduced it to a pile of green stuffing. It might help if they wrapped the stuffing in a material so it wasn't so easy to get to. Once she saw the stuffing it was Game On! If the stuffing hadn't been free-flowing inside the bed and wrapped instead, she would have lost interest once she tore the cover. Also, read the warranty very carefully! They will send a new cover to place over the old cover. There's already a huge gaping hole in the first cover that I'm supposed to cover with a second cover and this will protect it how? Also, the fabric didn't seem breathable and like it would be uncomfortably hot for my dog in the summer. Who wants to lay in a hot bed all day?

K9 Ballistics Response: Please be aware that this bed is not meant for persistent chewers; this bed is rated a 2 on our durability scale and should only be left with dogs that may occasionally chew or scratch at the bedding. This bed is not covered by the Chew Proof Guarantee.
  • My pooch approves! Review by Eve (Posted on 3/1/2016)

Very nicely made and appears to be quite durable. I bought this to replace my dog's old bolster/cuddle bed. She's a little too big for her old bed but she loves to scrunch up in it or stretch and hang out of it. I thought the Deep Den dog bed was just a few of inches smaller but when I opened it up it was really, really small (she weighs 55 lbs.) and I figured I would give it to a friend with a small dog. Much to my surprise, she crammed herself right into it and is happy as clam! She also likes to drag it around the room (wannabe interior decorator) and it shows no signs of abuse.

We were looking for a tough-to-destroy bed for our dogs. We bought one of the Deep Den Dog Beds, to try it out, and have been more than satisfied with our purchase. The only thing I would like to see in this "den type" bed would be for ALL of the material to be made of the "ballistic" material. Within hours my puppy had chewed through the softer material on the inside of the wall and began removing the stuffing. All in all, I'm ok with the product.
We now offer this bed in all TUFF Ripstop Ballistic material! Select the black color to make use of this super durable material.

Deal of the Month: Enjoy reduced pricing on the Deep Den Dog Bed while supplies last. We periodically negotiate reduced costs from our manufacturer on bulk orders, and we're passing this savings on to you. Pricing has already been marked down, no need for a coupon code. Enjoy!

Dogs love this Deep Den Dog Bed because they can get inside and curl up. Secure on all sides, they love resting their head on the bolster and watching the action from there. For when a little more privacy is needed, this is the perfect place to cuddle and experience feeling of being nestled into a warm den. We made this bed with a slight oval shape and extra high walls to fit your dog perfectly when curled up. Try one of our faux-fur Snuggle Blankets for the ultimate in warmth and privacy. A must-have for dogs that like to bury beneath the sheets.

This bed is sewn closed so it doesn’t have any zippers or Velcro. The bottom cushion can be removed and both parts can be thrown in the wash or hosed down for easy cleaning. Larger sizes may require a commercial washer due to their size.

The outer edges of the Deep Den Dog Bed feature our proprietary Ballistic material with RipStop technology. Dual-color versions of the bed feature TUFF Velvet sleeping surfaces, which have an additional layer of polyester fibers adhered to the underlying RipStop material. This provides a softer, quieter sleeping surface for your pup. This plush surface may attract more dirt and fur than traditional TUFF covers, and is optimal for indoor use only. Our RipStop material stands up to destructive behaviors such as nibbling, scratching, and digging. We weave 1680 denier synthetic material densely, which also makes the bed water-resistant. This water resistance comes without the use of any extra chemicals or sprays. An added bonus of this Ballistic material is stain-proof living, where any mess can easily be wiped away with a damp cloth. Due to the number of seams, edges, and corners on this bed, it should not be given to frequent or aggressive chewers.

Due to the thickness of these beds, personalized embroidery is not available for the Deep Den Dog Bed. If your dog simply demands his name be prominently displayed, then try the Round TUFF Bed!

This bed is covered by our 90 Day Chew Proof Guarantee.

Chew Proof Rating

Occasional Chewers & Nesters

Tough, resisting nibblers and diggers and good for any well-behaved dog. Perfect material for dogs who love to scratch around, nesting, before lying down. Our Brindle/Lattice and Brindle/Camo colors feature our signature TUFF Velvet material which is extremely plush to hand and paw. Black den beds are plain RipStop both inside and out, excellent for dogs more prone to having accidents or making messes. If you have a persistent chewer this bed is not right for your dog. While it utilizes our super tough Ballistic RipStop material, the high bolstered edges provide an easy target for dogs who like to chew.

If you have a dog that scratches or digs at their bed on occasion (not constantly), then this bed will stand up to the abuse. This bed is sealed shut and does not have any zippers or Velcro closures. This bed is covered by our 90 Day Chew Proof Guarantee.
Size Guide
We recommend measuring your dog and comparing it to the dimensions of our beds to ensure the perfect size; every dog is unique. Measure your dog with a tape measure from the tip of their nose to the base of their tail. This is the minimum length you should consider for your pup's bed.

ripstop tuff cover for dog beds

RipStop Ballistic Material™

The chew-resistant ballistic material with rip-stop tech avoids tears, and helps prevent growth if they start. This bed is perfect for nibblers and diggers!

water resistant dog bed

Repels Dirt, Hair, and Moisture

Tightly woven synthetic fibers make this bed chew proof, and also resistant to a wide array of other damaging forces. Water, dirt, hair, and muck simply don't cling to the bed and can be easily wiped away; after wiping with a damp cloth the bed often looks as good as new!

machine washable dog beds

Machine Washable

Accidents happen, it's a fact of life; Murphy's law if you will. Having a machine washable dog bed helps clean up those accidents quickly and easily. For those messes that do not wipe away, let the machine washer do the work.

We recommend washing with cold water on a gentle cycle, and then air drying. The heat and friction of a machine dryer could shorten the lifespan of the bed, and we want our products to last as long as possible! Please note that larger bed sizes may not fit in a standard washer.

odor resistant dog bed

Synthetic Fibers Resist Odors

The extremely dense synthetic fiber weave of our Ballistic Material not only stops moisture, but also odors! Dirt, grime, and even mold spores have a tough time sticking to the bed cover, and when these elements can't stick around neither can the smell.

odor resistant dog bed

Hypoallergenic Material

Dust mites cause a large number of allergic reactions for dogs. Mold and mildew spores can also trigger allergic reactions. The sythetic fibers used in this cover prohibit dust mite invasions, and make life difficult for mold spores as well. These allergens require organic fibers to build their homes, and this cover uses a 100% synthetic fiber construction. Dust mites beware!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Ballistic Fabric?

Ballistic Fabric is a thick, tough, synthetic material used for a variety of applications. Ballistic fabric was originally developed by the DuPont corporation as a material for flak jackets to be worn by World War II airmen. The term ballistic fabric takes its name from the fact that it was intended to protect its wearers from flying debris and fragmentation caused by bullet or artillery shell impacts.

What happened to the zippers?

The Deep Den Dog bed is sewn completely shut, so there are no Velcro or zipper closures. The bottom pad can be removed from the bed for easy washing. Small den beds can be machine-washed (wash each part separately), while larger sizes may need a commercial washer, depending on the size of your washer at home. The largest sizes may need to be tub-soaked or hosed down instead.

What makes your ballistic fabric superior to other bed materials?

Canvas and fabric beds are not chew proof by any means. You have to remember, dogs have been known to chew through materials that you'd never even imagine a dog could chew through. Our military-grade ballistic material is used specifically for it's durability and toughness, which makes for a longer-lasting, chew proof product that outlasts other beds made from inferior materials. Most companies take an off the shelf fabric, one made for furniture or luggage, and use it on a dog bed. We've designed our own fabric built around the function of a dog bed. We've recently upgraded our ballistic material to be Ripstop, which means its now even better at withstanding moderate chewing and scratching. Our fabric is waterproof, so it can withstand rain, outdoor conditions with its UV protection, and pets which may be incontinent. There is nothing on the market that is built better. This is the best option for an all around durable bed. We have paid extreme attention to all the details.

Are your beds really "chew proof"?

To be fair, there's really nothing short of hard metal that is absolutely "chew proof" - dogs have been known to chew through kevlar, wood, bricks, chain link fences and light metals just to name a few! If a dog has the ability and wants to bad enough, they can chew through most materials. However, we advertise our beds as "chew proof", and we stand behind our beds as the most chew proof products available. Ultimately, what makes our beds "chew proof" is not only the materials that we use, but also our 90 Day Chew Proof Warranty!

My dog is a heavy chewer, which bed do you recommend?

The Cujo Cot should be the go to bed for all medium or heavy chewers. With our "No Chew" design, hidden fabric edges, and durable corner covers, and aluminum frame, there is nowhere for dogs to get ahold of the fabric on the bed. Once your dog is conditioned not to chew a TUFF bed or TUFF Bed Crate Pad can be added for extra comfort.

What if my dog does manage to chew up this bed?

We have a 90 Day Chew Proof Guarantee on all Original, Round, Orthopedic, Mini TUFF Beds and TUFF Pads. If your dog does manage to chew through one of the TUFF Beds within the guarantee period, we'll replace the cover, free of charge. If your dog manages through our TUFF Pads or Mini TUFF Beds, we'll send out a free replacement. We're that confident!

Aren't all dog beds the same? What makes yours so different?

Our beds are actually built to inhibit the dog's ability to chew them. For starters, the covers of our beds are made out of military grade 1680 denier ballistic nylon, the same material worn as body armor by US combat forces! Unlike other beds, our ballistic nylon is far more chew resistant than cloth or other cheap fabrics that can be ripped apart at the seams. We take extra pains to engineer our beds with concealed Velcro closures on the bottom of the beds to minimize the dog's temptation and ability to chew in this area. Rounded corners and solid, well-sewn seams also greatly reduce the possibility of the dog grabbing hold of a weak seam.

What about cleaning the bed?

Our beds are super-easy to clean! The bottom pad of the den bed can be popped out from the walls, and both parts can be washed. The small bed can usually be machine washed in cold water on delicate, but please wash the parts separately. The bed should then be allowed to air dry. Larger sizes may require a commercial washer, depending on the size of your washer at home. The biggest size may need to be tub soaked or hosed down instead. If your dog has an accident on the bed, please clean all urine and vomit immediately with a dry towel before washing. Customers in the past have told us that a deodorizer (ex. Febreeze or baking soda) can take away the urine or vomit smell.

Our Guarantee for the Deep Den Dog Bed

If your dog chews through the cover, it is covered under our warranty. We will send out, free of charge, one replacement bed cover (not including bed fill). This one-time warranty is good for up to 90 days from the day that K9 Ballistics shipped out your purchase.

If you notice any damage of our product resulting from chewing or scratching, we recommend immediately removing the bed from your dog's access. Some dogs like to eat their bedding, so for your animals' health we recommend waiting to reintroduce the bed when the replacement cover arrives and/or when the dog grows out of the chewing phase.

How to Process a warranty Claim

What we need to process a warranty is:
1. An email sent by the person who placed the order (usually you) with your name and address
2. A photo of the damage (you can also include a photo of the culprit if you like). You do not need to send us your bed or cover.

Send email with pictures to [email protected]. It usually takes us five to seven business days to get back to you.

Warranty can be enacted just once. If you do not wish to enact your warranty, we can refund you 50% of the cost of the item provided that a picture of the damage is sent to us.
