  • worth the money Review by Kimberleigh (Posted on 11/2/2016)
    Overall Quality
I went back and forth for a month looking at dog beds and hesitant to spend so much on one. So happy I got this bed! Bear is my 121 pound Rottweiler and he has had double FHO surgery for hip dysplasia. His old bed went flat and he started to prefer the couch over it. He loves this bed and stays off the couch now. I got the XL and he has plenty of room . He used to hang off his old bed. My three little guys love it too. Well made and comfortable. I have laid on it with them
  • I would purchase again Review by Mary (Posted on 8/6/2016)
    Overall Quality
Our 12 year old pitbull/weimaraner mix is extremely picky about her bed. In the past has refused certain beds. She normally takes a few days to get acclimated to a new bed. Not the case with this bed. As soon as the cover was on she was on it. Although it was pricey I am truly happy with the purchase. She is such a wonderful girl she deserves this "Cadillac" of beds.
  • Our 2 Dobermans Love It Review by rhhenne (Posted on 7/18/2016)
    Overall Quality
We bought to go inside our RV so the dogs quit trying to sleep on our bed.
It was very easy to assemble the bed, we were amazed when we cut the plastic wrapper around the roll of foam and the bed started enlarging itself. This is the best dog bed we have ever owned. The foam is great, the material cover is great and our Dobes love it. Thanks K9 Ballistics!
  • Very satisfied Review by Elaine (Posted on 5/31/2016)
    Overall Quality
We've only had the bed for several weeks for so far - so good. Our dog took to it right away and seems very comfortable. Of course, it's not quite the same as the leather couch which she claimed as her own but having a quality bed on her level is much better for her joints. The memory foam is very solid but soft and the cover is outstanding. Thanks for a product well made.
  • A Little Early to Tell Review by Dawn (Posted on 5/12/2016)
    Overall Quality
Overall appearance of bed is great. Fits into our decor well. I love the construction of the bed. We have had others in the past and this one is far above those in quality and construction. We have a puppy now (12 weeks). Just trying to teach her to use that as her couch instead of people couch. She is using it more and more. Likes to snuggle up in the corners to sleep. Hasn't tried once to chew on it or dig like I had been worried she would. Even so, I am less anxious about her doing anything to it. It is just that durable. You can tell. Nice thick pad and not cheap mushy.
  • Worth the cost Review by claudia (Posted on 4/21/2016)

My 80 lb 11 yr old GSD has been using the large bed for about two weeks. She likes to "dig" through her bedding. No claw marks so far! Pretty easy to vaccuum. If she lies flat out on her side, she fills it perfectly, including her paws. We love it!
  • Maddy loves it! Review by Peggy (Posted on 3/15/2016)
    Overall Quality
I spent a month deciding on which bed to purchase for my GSD and I am very happy with choosing the K9 Ballistic bed. The quality is superb. The mattress is supportive yet soft. I ordered the XL after measuring her previous bed and comparing it to the specs for this bed. It seems larger than expected, probably because of the quality of the bed. It provides consistent support to the edges. I could fit 2 GSDs in this bed. The water resistant cover that goes on the mattress before putting on the outer cover was also a selling point for me. It does not hold odors like her old bed. I am not sorry to spend a little extra money. It is well worth it.
  • Excellent Dog Bed Review by Kiley (Posted on 2/19/2016)
    Overall Quality
I would recommend this bed to anyone. Very well made!!! My dog loves it!! I have the XL size and i have a chocolate lab that weighs 86 lbs and a golden retriever that weighs 120 lbs. Both of them seem to love it!! As long as they curl up both of them can fit on it. This thing is huge!!! Thanks K9 Ballistics for making a quality dog bed that will not fall short of expectations!!!!
    Overall Quality
I purchased a small sized orthopedic bolstered microfiber bed for my 8 week old Labrador Retriever Puppy. My dad also got a puppy from the same litter, and both dogs really love this bed.

I didn't purchase this bed because of the durability per se (this was less important in my purchasing decision). I bought it because it had really high quality orthopedic foam (Labs are prone to hip issues, so I wanted something really comfortable-- the quality of the foam in the K9 ballistics beds is SO much better than envy other bed I've bought from Duluth Trading, Petsmart, Petco, etc), because of the bolster (I've noticed Lab's really like to rest their chin on something- I was REALLY impressed with the quality of the bolster foam!), and because I thought it was cute (something I wouldn't mind having in the middle of my living room- everyone who has seen it has remarked on how stylish it is, and looked at the logo to figure our where to get one). It might be more comfortable than my bed! My puppy (and his playmates) LOVE it!! That said, it is also very durable. My puppy has chewed on it- A LOT (especially the seams), and hasn't made a dent in it. I also know they are great to launder (especially compared to other brands where the pee/puke etc sinks into the foam and the foam melts if you try to wash it)- keeps everything clean and nice smelling!

Here are some things to consider if you're intending to purchase:
-Size: I bought a little one (Small) for my Lab puppy, with the idea that I would get a bigger one in 2 months when he grew. But Labs normally need the large size.
-Microfiber? I got this because I wanted something SUPER comfortable, but the rip stop is probably more durable and easier to clean (however, dogs normally don't like to potty where they sleep). The rip stop is really noisy though, compared to the microfiber (my last dog had a rip stop one).
-Monogramming- Super cute, but obviously the weakest link. If your dog is a really chewer, skip this. My pup has worked the threads loose in just about every letter. I expected this, so it didn't bug me. I figure, I'll upgrade to a larger one when he's grown and isn't so mouthy.

This is the 4th K9 Ballistics bed I've purchased (my old dog had them too). They're great! I highly recommend them! They last forever (I could have given my puppy my last dog's K9 Ballistics bed, which I bought at least 4 years ago, if the idea of it didn't make me so sad).
  • Perfect Bed Review by Deanna (Posted on 12/29/2015)
    Overall Quality
Sammie, 5 year old Rottie loves her K9 Ballistics Orthopedic Bolstered Microfiber Bed. She sleeps comfortably all the time. This bed is extremely large and Sammie can actually lay her entire body on it without any part laying on the floor.Sammie no longer gets up with any joint pain. We are very impressed with the bed and how large and firm it is. YOU PAY WHAT YOU GET FOR!!!!!! Best Ever!!!!
  • Buster loves it Review by John Shafchuk (Posted on 10/5/2015)
    Overall Quality
Buster loves his new bed. It's very well made and very comfortable. We got the X-large for our 80 lb lab/golden mix. He has plenty of room for friends to sleepover. It's much roomier than we had anticipated and Buster loves the extra room when he stretches out. He loves the bolsters when he curls up. The bed holds it shape very well. That is probably the only downside as Buster loved to hump his old bed and this one is not too humpable.
  • Leo Loves It! Review by Marie B (Posted on 9/26/2015)
    Overall Quality
Leo is a very picky 12 year old Shiba Inu. He wasn't sure about the new bed at first but started testing it out for short periods after I placed a couple of treats on it to get him to at least step on it. He's now a convert. He goes straight to his bed at night and doesn't budge once he gets comfortable. Although he's a small/medium size dog (30 lbs), I got him the XL as he really likes to stretch out sometimes; he'll curl up next to the bolster corners with his blanket if he wants to get cozy. I hesitated to buy this bed because of the price but he loves it and I suspect this will comfortably carry him through his senior years. Money well spent.
  • Excellent Product Repeat Customer Review by Adrianne (Posted on 9/9/2015)
    Overall Quality
Bought this bed for my 11 year-old English bulldog. This is actually my 2nd purchase from K9 Ballistics. I bought the first one a few years ago when he was tearing up every bed I got him, and it has lived up to the Ballistic name. I'm happy that my old guy has mellowed, and now he enjoys long naps in his orthopedic foam bed. At night, he sleeps with me.

Our dog loves this bed! Cody preferred it from day 1 over his other dog bed. The memory foam/orthopedic cushion & the microfiber cover are of excellent quality.
  • Perfect bed! Review by jessica m (Posted on 5/13/2015)

I bought the xl for my 8 month old German Shepherd and he can stretch out completely with a little room for growth. He is only 70lbs but he is a long one. I ordered the blue monogrammed and it looks great! He loves the bolstered bed so he can prop up his head. If we had more room I would get another!
  • great support Review by Rachelle (Posted on 9/3/2014)
    Overall Quality
We purchased the medium sized bed for our 12 year old rescue dog (42 lb. Heeler/Shepherd mix). She has been a little stiff getting up in the morning and after the first night I could see the improvement. The bed arrived very quickly, is excellent quality and it should be easy to wash the cover.

  • Dog lover Review by Blake (Posted on 2/27/2014)
    Overall Quality
We bought the monogramed Ortho Bolster Bed in Gray Microfiber. We selected the "Large" for our 55# Aussie, as he likes to stretch out. The bed came fast. Mailed out within hours of my order. The monogram looks great. Our dog is happy. This is a high quality bed that I would certainly order again. I've owned Orvis in the past and this bed is equally nice or better b/c of water-proof lining.
  • Great Bed Review by Barb Reed (Posted on 1/17/2014)

This is a great bed and all three of our varous-sized dogs love it. We're trying to find something to keep them off the couch and this just may be it! Great quality - seems like it will last a lot longer than other similar beds we've bought

Best choice I could of ever made for my elderly Yorkshire Terrier. She made herself right at home as soon as I unpacked it for her. Quality product, better than I've seen in pet stores. Definitely worth every penny!

Chew Proof Rating

Non Problematic Dogs

Durable Luxury, not Chew Proof. These beds feature double stitched seams, reinforced corners, and use durable upholstery grade microfiber, not the thin stuff. These beds trade-off the extreme durability we’re know for in exchange for everyday durability and comfort. We’ve mastered luxury as well as durability and that sliding scale of comfort and durability makes these beds great for mild mannered dogs that don't chew their beds.
Size Guide
We recommend measuring your dog and comparing it to the dimensions of our beds to ensure the perfect size; every dog is unique. Measure your dog with a tape measure from the tip of their nose to the base of their tail. This is the minimum length you should consider for your pup's bed.

MicroFiber Dog Bed Covers™

A special bonding process makes our synthetic microfiber material both strong and soft. The result is a plush bed which withstands the daily beating of a dog's life, and holds up in a machine washer. Just be sure to use a cold gentle cycle!

Stylish Piping Accents

When we set out to create a plush and durable MicroFiber Dog Bed™, we wanted it to look great for you and feel great for your dog. This subtle accent brings just enough color contrast to distiguish the bed from other bland dog products. Your neighbor's dogs will be jealous!

Easy Zipper Assembly

Our bed arrives at your doorstep in 2 pieces: mattress and cover. An easily accessible zipper makes assembly a breeze, and should you ever need to wash the bed this 2 piece construction helps. Simply separate the cover and mattress and wash separately! This keeps the mattress from clumping, and ensures both pieces get the best possible wash.

odor resistant dog bed

Hypoallergenic Material

Dust mites cause a large number of allergic reactions for dogs. Mold and mildew spores can also trigger allergic reactions. The sythetic fibers used in this cover prohibit dust mite invasions, and make life difficult for mold spores as well. These allergens require organic fibers to build their homes, and this cover uses a 100% synthetic fiber construction. Dust mites beware!

machine washable dog bed mattress

High Density Memory Foam

Our orthopedic mattresses are made with two layers of foam: the top 1.5" layer of high quality memory foam, and the bottom 3.5" layer of support foam. Our memory foam has a 4.5 lb / sq. ft. density rating.

Other beds which don't use the bottom support layer often settle too quickly and your dog can end up lying on the floor. This negates the benefit of the orthopedic foam! We just couldn't settle for that. We decided to include firm joint support in the base layer and supple comfort in the top layer of memory foam.

Water Resistant Nylon Mattress Liner

The foam mattress is protected by a water resistant nylon cover which keeps the sensitive foam dry and odor free. If you've ever met a dog with incontinence problems then you understand how this extra layer of moisture resistance can be vital.

Joint Support for Large Breeds or Aging Pets

Large dogs often experience joint problems more frequently than smaller dogs, due to their increased size and weight. It isn't fair, but pet owners can proactively fight joint problems with orthopedic pet furniture such as our memory foam dog bed.

Our orthopedic beds can prevent joint problems, ease joint pain that's already begun, or just plain spoil your canine companion.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is LUX Faux Fur™ and LUX Microsuede™?

All of our LUX faux (not from real animals) furs are 100% polyester fibers, making them extremely stain resistant and very durable — nearly anything will wash out of these furs. LUX Faux Fur™ is made just for us with a special backing that removes most stretch and stiffens the fabric adding loft, durability, and serious strength.

Our LUX Microsuede material is a thick polyester bonded to a woven layer of knitted poly-fibers. This bonding process adds strength to the already strong fabric. Because this fabric is polyester it has all of the resilience of a washable, synthetic furniture grade material, while remaining extremely soft to the touch. The thickness of the fabric gives it body and loft, making our beds look fluffier and more crisp, and because it breathes so well, no comfort is sacrificed.

Is this bed machine washable?

Yes this bed is machine washable, though we recommend air drying. To wash, simply remove the cover from the mattress and then wash on a cold gentle cycle with the detergent of your choice. Do not put this bed in a machine dryer, as the heat and friction will weaken the material and shorten its lifespan

Can this bed be used both indoors and outdoors?

We designed the LUX Series™ covers for indoor use, and do not recommend them for outdoor use. The polyester fiber material can attract dirt more quickly than our TUFF Bed Series™, and will require more frequent cleanings. That said, many customers use this bed in covered back patios, and it suits their dog's needs perfectly.

Is this bed hypoallergenic?

Yes this bed is hypoallergenic because we use 100% synthetic fiber construction from the cover down to the stuffing inside the mattress. The sythetic fibers used in this cover prohibit dust mite invasions, and make life difficult for mold spores as well. These allergens require organic fibers to build their homes, and this cover uses a 100% synthetic fiber construction. Dust mites beware!

What is memory foam?

Memory foam is designed to immediately conform to your body and relieve pressure. Its great for puppies to help prevent future problems or older dogs that may be suffering form ailments like hip dysplasia. Memory foam quality is measured in pounds per square foot, the heavier the foam the higher the mattress quality. Our memory foam density is rated at 4.5 lbs / sq. ft.

Is this bed chew resistant?

We designed the LUX Series beds for serious comfort for your dog, and should be enjoyed by mild mannered canines who don't chew up their bedding. This bed is not chew resistant. Our synthetic fiber covers are tough and will outlast similar luxury style beds under normal use scenarios. Chewers, diggers, and scratchers will find this cover a tasty appetizer before digging into the main course: a messy mattress. We've found this bed to be a great reward for dogs who have learned to stop chewing and take care of their things.

Why do you cover your memory foam with a waterproof cover?

Waterproof inner covers are designed to protect the integrity of the foam inside. They help as a first barrier of defense against moisture. Moisture that may come from a wet dog, humid conditions, puppy accidents, or an older dog that may be incontinent.

10 Year No Flatten Guarantee for Orthopedic Mattresses

This is a one-time warranty per order. If your orthopedic mattress flattens more than 2 inches or 50% within 10 years from normal use, we will replace it once free of charge. This does not apply to mattresses that have flattened due to destructive behaviors such as chewing, digging, or scratching, nor will we replace mattresses that have flattened due to water damage or exposure to urine. Should the mattress become wet, please allow it to air dry completely before allowing your dog to use it again to prevent any potential damage from occurring to the foam.

To file a claim for the replacement, simply send us a photo of the mattress beside a tape measure or ruler to show its current thickness. Please remove the outer cover and liner before photographing the fill so that we can better see the flattened area. You may send the photo along with your name and address to [email protected] to start the claim process. You will not be required to ship the damaged fill back to us.

Please note that this guarantee applies only to orthopedic inserts and does not cover nesting/original mattresses.
