  • Great Product! Review by Megan (Posted on 7/19/2017)
    Overall Quality
We have had a Tuff bed for our lab/hound mix for 4-5 years. We bought it because he has a rare seizure disorder that causes him to develop 24 hours of nausea/vomiting and he will try to eat anything he can in his mouth because of the nausea. He has eaten wires, sheets, towels (surgery to remove), branches/leaves/grass, etc. This bed gives us comfort when his seizure happens and we are not home--he cannot eat it! It is also very washable (we have washed it MANY many times!)
  • Awesome Review by ISUgirl (Posted on 7/19/2017)
    Overall Quality
The bed is awesome! I have a 90 lb. Chesapeake and this bed is perfect for him. He is super comfy and so far has not chewed at the cover. The only thing I would suggest is to put vent holes so the air escapes quicker. He was not sure at firstbif he liked it cuz too much air when he first gets on it.

No chewing, no issues, as expected. I own three tuff beds now for my dogs and I would recommend them!
  • No Wammys! Review by Nena (Posted on 7/18/2017)
    Overall Quality
Well I don't want to put the wammy on my new beds but so far so good. My dogs have been sleeping on their new beds for about 3 weeks and they are still in tacked. Sir Brownington aka will eat anything and everything has yet to destroy his bed. Thank you K9 Ballistics!
  • Jaegers bed Review by Robbie (Posted on 7/16/2017)

As for now we have had the 2 beds we purchased for a week with no issues. If had to give a con to the bed it would be, it holds air making it almost like a inflatable

  • We can put a man on the moon, but we can't design a dog bed that a dog can't tear up. Review by Troy (Posted on 7/10/2017)
    Overall Quality
I thought that this bed was going to be the solution to my problems. It wasn't. It took my Australian Sheppard/Border Collie mix less than 2 days to tear open the cover. I'm presently waiting for the new cover replacement under warranty to arrive. He'll probably destroy the replacement too.
  • Bigger size bed Review by Freddie (Posted on 7/10/2017)
    Overall Quality
Bought the same size that spike is laying on. Unfortunate it was to small for my English bulldog. Given he is 60 lbs and very healthy not fat. If I could I would return and get a bigger size bed it would be great. j
  • Bed review Review by Kayla (Posted on 7/7/2017)

This bed is great! My dog typically chews up a bed within the first day. She has attempted to bite the bed but quickly stops aimce she isn't able to puncture the bed.
  • My dog has met his match Review by luvsdogs (Posted on 7/5/2017)
    Overall Quality
The bed is great! Our golden retriever pup had torn apart numerous beds, so I was reluctant to try again, but in this one he has met his match! I have seen him attacking the bed, trying to chew it apart and drag it around, and the bed stays perfectly intact! I never would have believed it. When he's done, he curls up on it and sleeps very peacefully. Thank you!

  • Would definitely recommend this product to any dog owner! Review by James (Posted on 7/5/2017)
    Overall Quality
The Original Tuff Bed is awesome! It arrived quickly and set up in minutes. I have a 3 year old, 140 lb male Boerboel named Maximus. He has destroyed more than enough beds to have payed for a couple of K9 Ballistics Tuff Beds. The cover has done its job and even survived an accident (urine didn't soak through to the cushion). Awesome bed!
  • Tough as nails! Stands up to the abuse of a big dog like my GSD. Review by Van (Posted on 7/2/2017)
    Overall Quality
Our 8 month old German shepherd shredded several beds before we found this one. I felt bad putting her in her crate at night without any bed or padding. Everything we tried she destroyed. I found this bed on your website and decided it was worth spending a little extra money if she doesn't destroy it. When I got it out of the package she did her best to chew it up with no luck. She finally gave up and now has a comfortable place to sleep.
  • A bed last will last Review by Albert (Posted on 7/1/2017)
    Overall Quality
The cover is of superior quality, and I don't think the dog will ever put a hole in it. However, the mattress holds too much air and dog rarely sleeps on it. Overall, it's a dog bed that will last for years and I take comfort in knowing that I won't be buying anymore overpriced beds.
  • Not as tough as the dog Review by Ashlyn (Posted on 6/30/2017)

Our 1 year old German Shepherd mix (rescue) chewed through this in 2 days time. For the price, I thought I'd get more out of it. Very disappointed!
  • good product Review by susan (Posted on 6/28/2017)
    Overall Quality
I got 2 of these beds and so far so good. My dogs normally paw before they lay down. And rips normal beds in the first couple days. I never bring a bed home from kennel they destroy them there, that will be the true test.
  • It took 4x the price of this bed to figure out I needed one... Review by Douglas (Posted on 6/22/2017)
    Overall Quality
It's been a couple of weeks since Strummer got his bed, and it's still in one piece and being taken everywhere in the house like a child with a teddy bear. Prior to ordering this bed he took out 4 beds in a span of 12 days due to current construction going on in my home and next door. This is the bed I should have bought about 13 beds ago and well over $400 later. He's a 65lb American bulldog and gets a little separation anxiety when I'm not home. So far it's lived up to its reputation. I had enough faith to embroider his name on it so I have more faith it will last him a good long time.
  • Love love love, best dog bed! Review by Rosemarie (Posted on 6/8/2017)
    Overall Quality
I love this dog bed. Our dogs love this dog bed. I have been looking for a bed that we can use inside, outside, in the back of the truck... and this is it. The material is tough yet comfortable for our dogs. I love that the cover is water resistant which is why I bought it in the first place. We had previously just been getting those round beds from Costco. They never lasted and would start to smell moldy. Never again.
I will soon be ordering another one for our new dog.
  • Amazing company, amazing products Review by Casey (Posted on 5/31/2017)
    Overall Quality
I became hooked on this company wether I bought a crate pad for my big boy (which would destroy ever bed/ blanket prior). And it lasted amazingly! Over 6 months and still looks flawless. Then came my smaller boy, find out quickly he was worse than my big boy when it came to beds and blankets (WAY worse). I bought this bed because of the dimensions. It arrived abbr within that first week my stinker got the Velcro open and tore into the mattress. So I contracted k9 ballistics and they sent a full new bed with the suggestion of double bagging the old in the new with the Velcro facing opposite directions. It worked! He hasn't gotten through at all! And that's super impressive if you knew what this dog has destroyed lol. The replacement bag also seemed to be extra reinforced which is super great and assures it will last.
  • Just a couple observations Review by EAA (Posted on 5/31/2017)
    Overall Quality
Overall a great bed, materials are great though it does hold a lot of air which makes my dog stand on it for a minute before settling in comfortably. There is one caveat with its durability as well, the fabric is so strong that it's not particularly soft and thus makes a lot of noise when my dog hops on it and circles around getting comfortable. If it's in your bedroom it might be anoying.
  • Excellent choice. Price and quality well worth it. Will be buying more. Review by Robert (Posted on 5/31/2017)

Good strong materials. Actually I thought it was a bit overstuffed. My dog disagrees and loves sitting on it and waiting for it to compress around her.
  • Great bed!! Review by Lindsay (Posted on 5/31/2017)

Love this bed! Easy to clean and my dog loves it! I have a German shorthair pointer and he chewd thought the first one. We got a replacement and he has yet to chew the new one because he missed the old one so much. We are in the process of training him to not chew too. Great bed, great company!!
  • EXAGGERATED ADVERTISEMENT, EXAGGERATED PRODUCT THINK TWICE Review by Rez (Posted on 5/26/2017)
    Overall Quality
The term "chew proof" should mean chew proof. A "guarantee" of 90 days, should mean guarantee. To my surprise, these are alternative terms. I ordered from this company because they were local and the reviews seemed fitting for my dog who loves to destroy things. I ordered the Tuff bed, i did my research, watched videos of dogs that are unable to make a hole in the bed. I ordered a 100 bed, received it, within 24 hours there was a hole. I contacted the company for the 90 day guarantee, turns out 24 hours or 1 hour or 90 days doesn't matter, NO MONEY BACK or No FULL MONEY TOWARDS NEW PRODUCT, instead a new cover for the bed(that was originally destroyed in 24 hours. Received new cover, covered it in blankets, zip tied it around so as to add another layer of protection over the Chew proof bed, 7 DAYS. Contacted company, now out of warranty!!! What i wanted originally is to put my funds towards another one of their products, but they would only give a 50% discount on new products per their warranty. Not even the worst customer service companies would expect loyalty from their customers for a product that they deem to be superior. Wrong in too many ways
  • Cover needs vents Review by Dave (Posted on 5/26/2017)
    Overall Quality
Good materials, but dogs won't sleep on it because it holds air too long and feels like an air mattress. Would benefit from eyelets in cover to let air escape faster.
  • https://www.facebook.com/smedina30/posts/10155285116117640 Review by christopher (Posted on 5/25/2017)
    Overall Quality
I've had the beds now for about a week, my one dog lays on it throughout the night. The other dog laid on it once. The outside cover is not very comfortable since I know it's made so they can't chew it. I put a blanket over it hoping he would lay in it and he does for only a few minutes and then would rather lay on the hardwood floor.

110lb bulldog and holding up perfect.
  • Can't stand up to my dog Review by James (Posted on 5/23/2017)
    Overall Quality
It is a tough bed but no match for my dog. It took him two days before he dragged it out of the house, flipped it over and attacked the Velcro and zipper on the bottom. He also chewed a hole in the middle of the bed on top. I'll wait until he destroys it totally then send pictures so I can get a new cover. It is a double X bed so you can imagine how strong my dog is to drag it outside and flip it over. He is a Year and a half old. Maremma. I need like a Kevlar pad for him to sleep on. Even though mostly he sleeps in the dirt. Sorry.
  • Great purchase!! Review by Stacey (Posted on 5/23/2017)
    Overall Quality
All I can say is WOW!! Usually my dogs tear up the dog bed in a matter of minutes. So far it has been about two weeks and the dog bed is perfect. We got the largest model and it is big enough too hold a full grown German Sheppard, blue heeler and chihuahua and I'm sure even more. We washed the cover last night due to the small dog peeing on it and it washed nicely. I would highly recommend this bed and give it 5 or of 5 stars!
  • Simply the best at any pricd ! Review by Hack (Posted on 5/21/2017)
    Overall Quality
The bed was bought to replace a bed that was destroyed by our newest dog, a 54 pound, 8 month old basset hound. His roomate is a 74 pound, 7 year old basset. At first neither dog would use the new Tuff bed, we think because of the high loft and thickness of the bed in comparison to how short both dogs legs are. After a few days, the older dog got his fat a** up and into the bed, making him look like a hot dog in a bun. The pup watched this intently until he got his turn to jump in. Now when they come inside from a walk, it's a race to see which basset gets the Tuff bed, and which one gets the old, thin bed. The quality is first rate and the size and thickness are exactly what we were looking for. We had hoped that they would share this bed, but it looks like I'll need to buy another one since they are spoiled bed hogs. I cannot see how any dog could damage this bed and I am certain that this must be the best quality bed on the market at any price. Thanks for a product that meets or exceeds all your advertised claims. 5 stars from our 2 bassets, Oliver and Buford.
  • Beautiful but unappreciated bed Review by Kate (Posted on 5/17/2017)
    Overall Quality
This is a beautiful dog bed however the dog is refusing to go on it AT ALL. I have been 'encouraging' him to lie on it but as soon as the encouragement is discontinued he is up and off. Hoping he will decide to like it soon.
  • Very durable Review by Tony (Posted on 5/15/2017)
    Overall Quality
It is holding up very well, he seems to like it too, he rakes at it to fluff it up like he would do to his other beds and tear them but this one doesn't even show a scratch. It's a little noisy due to the heavy duty material but a small price to pay for it's durability. Would recommend to all.
  • Excellent product Review by Rex (Posted on 5/15/2017)
    Overall Quality
It fits our dog's kennel well, she likes it a lot, and she doesn't chew it, presumably because she can't find the seams. I plan to order another. One negative: It took awhile to get here. But it was worth the wait.
  • Great bed Review by erin n (Posted on 5/15/2017)
    Overall Quality
My dog has not been able to destroy this bed yet. The fabric is more stiff than his last bed, but this is probably why he can't eat a hole in it.

  • Comfy dog bed and sturdy Review by Gibby 1 (Posted on 5/11/2017)
    Overall Quality
This bed has held up, my dog was going thru a bed a week. He is a 85lb 1 year old mix breed that loves to chew. Tags do not belong on beds; so, he takes them off and anything else that comes with the tag. This bed is still intact, it moved around the room a bit; but, now he just sleeps on it.

  • We are happy with the purchase. I will admit the price scared us off at first. But now our dog can have a nice bed. I recommend this bed to anyone with a powerful chewer. Review by John (Posted on 5/8/2017)
    Overall Quality
So far, so good. Maxx is a "super chewer". He has not yet really challenged the tuff bed. He is using it as a bed and not a chew toy. Either way it seems to be a winner.
  • The cover is very nicely made and putting the opening at the bottom makes lots of sense but the material is no more "chew resistant" than any other fabric nor is it "resistant" to holes from biting. I would imagine that the one advantage to the cover asid Review by Joanne (Posted on 5/8/2017)

We love the k9 ballistic bed. First bed that our dog has not chewed up. She has started to chew then sees it does not shread , rip , or tear like her others and she stops. We leave kennel door open and she goes in to sleep on it.
  • "Cookie almost eat it" Review by Keith (Posted on 5/6/2017)
    Overall Quality
My American Bulldog (cookie) flipped the bed over and started pulling/opening the Velcro. She made it to the interior pillow, but did not rip it. I scolded her and it hasn't happen since. So, so-far-so good. I love everything else about the pillow, especially the felt-top cover.
  • Love these beds! Review by Brandi (Posted on 5/6/2017)
    Overall Quality
My dogs love this bed. I bought this one for my pitt molly and the crate pad for my cane corso Bruizer. Bruizer will destroy his bed and Mollys usually within a week if getting them. We've had these beds for a week now and he's pretty much given up on trying to tear them up. I spent $200 on beds for them 2 weeks before ordering these and they were completely demolished in less than a week. So happy I found these beds. They're really soft and fluffy too! The first thing Bruizer did was try to get the crate pad up so he could chew it but the zip ties are genius! :D

  • Great Bed, Great Company Review by Ellen (Posted on 5/3/2017)
    Overall Quality
This is my second original tuff bed and I am a big fan. We got the first bed years ago when our dog was a puppy and chewed everything (including the tuff bed). The company was fabulous and immediately sent a new cover. This time, I replaced the existing bed because of the "dog odor" and stains that had developed over the past five years --- nothing to do with the bed itself! The second bed arrived very quickly and is perfect! My dog loves it.

I bought the XL for my two Shepard/Lab mix brother and sister. The kept taking out their little beds through the doggie door and finally ripped them to shreds. They were intimidated by the new bed for a couple of days maybe due to the size and height. But now they love it and it hasn’t moved an inch from where I put it. Even with them jumping and running across it and Wolf’s a good size dog. Good Stuff…

I have 2 60 pound dogs that get smelly and like to be outside a lot. They have destroyed other beds because they like to chew stuff up as well. This bed fits both of them, does not smell, and they have chewed it up at all! I love this thing, worth every penny!
  • first bed my dog didn't tear up within a week Review by Brian (Posted on 4/25/2017)
    Overall Quality
I bought one of your beds last fall and it is the first bed my dog didn't tear up within a week and she still hasn't been able to. She flips it/ folds it and drags it around to where ever she wants to lay and it takes everything she can do. This dog ripped up outdoor glued down carpet in her sunroom's 20x40 room in a day but she can't get through your bed. It is by far the best product on the market and every one of your employees should be proud to work there and be a member of your team. Keep up the good work, if you don't put yourself out of business by being too good at what you do LOL!
  • MY FAVORITE PURCHASE EVER!! Review by Lauren (Posted on 4/25/2017)
    Overall Quality
I have an 8 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy who is an extreme chewer. We have a mantra in our house that toys come to our house to die....and obviously as do beds! This bed has been able to stand up to his chewing, digging and draggging since we have had it and it's super easy to clean too! When he gets his treat filled kongs he kind of makes a mess with them and the bed wipes clean very easily! As a pet parent who cannot keep anything around in the house for more than usually a day before he destroys it I would recommend this bed to ANYONE and EVERYONE!!

Hello -- our two beds arrived quickly and we were immediately impressed with the quality, construction, and look. Especially noticeable was the intensity of the Velcro enclosure. Very well made! We are one week into the bed's use and so far our two guys have not made an attempt to chomp on them, so hopefully we are past the "new novelty" stage for our chewers. Will keep you posted as time passes! So far so good!

I am really impressed with our new dog bed. The mattress is nice and soft, while the cover is strong enough to stand up to what our dog dishes out (he has shown a fondness for destroying other dog beds in as little as a day). I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a high quality dog bed!

We purchased the large original tuff bed for our adopted 3 month old lab! She is a heavy chewer! The first bed we purchased for her was looking pretty rough after only a week. She likes to play with it! After almost 2 weeks with the Tuff bed, it still looks like it did when we took it out of the box. And trust we when I say, she does her best to chew and scratch at it! I'm anxious to see how it fairs over the course of time. But I'm hopeful!

The bed is VERY large for her right now. But she will grow into it!

We actually ended up getting the Den Bed for our Chihuahua as well because our Lab was going after her bed as well.

I have a dog who's chewed up every dog bed, every throw rug, every shoe, every mattress, and countless other "non-dog" items he finds around the house. He was crated with the Tuff Bed and after 2 months was only able to put 1 very small hole in the cover. I don't crate him anymore but instead keep him in the now dog-gated kitchen during the day with his siblings. I bought another Tuff Bed and he and his siblings love the beds! I have not come home from work to find any dog destruction since the Tuff Bed purchases and the kitchen "holding cell" implementation.
  • Our dog loves the Tuff Bed Review by GrandMar (Posted on 4/9/2017)

We purchased the med Tuff Bed for our 2 year old, 75# chocolate lab. She had destroyed her previous bed by dragging it around & shaking it. Now the bed stays in place & in one piece. She was a little hesitant at first as the bed is thick & compresses when she gets on it. But it didn't take long for her to use it. The bed is very well constructed & durable. We also have a crate pad that is wonderful.

It takes a few weeks for any bed to really break in. yet now it seems that our dog is relaxed and settled in her new K9 bed. It seems really well made, and she hasn't torn it to shreds yet, even though she is trying.
This could be the match for our maniac dog.

We, the owners, as well as our dog love these beds. We have 2 of the originals and 1 crate model. She loves them all. Very happy with the way they hold up and she is a "digger" so she is finding her comfy warm place quite often in that material, so it has to be ballistic. Any other product, I'd have thrown out a dozen already. They wash well too.

My wife and I were skeptical about buying our dog another bed. We own a pitbull, and he has destroyed about 6 different beds before. He loves to chew stuff. We decided to give this bed a shot, and all I can say is WOW. We couldn't be happier with our decision to purchase this bed. Our pitbull, as tough as he is, hasn't been able to chew through the bed. And it's super comfy for him! The outside is a little bit rough, but it has to be. We took him on a road trip with us and we were in the car for about 10 hours, and the bed was perfect. If you're thinking about getting a bed from this website, stop thinking and do it. The price may seem a little high, but its SO worth it.

Bought a tan one about 8 months ago for my pit and it's great. Everyone loves the name stitched on the front too. Adopted another pit so just ordered a second bed in black. Love both beds and the slightly high price is worth it. I've gone through some $50 beds that only lasted about a month so these $100 beds are worth the investment. Also can take take the cover off then bed and wash it which is helpful.

Our dog is a year old, around 30 lbs., and he chewed a hole in the bed after about 20 minutes. I was surprised and very disappointed. Instead of getting another one through the warranty, I opted for a refund of 50% of the purchase price. The company was very responsive and refunded the money within a few days.

  • Not so Tuff Review by Jen (Posted on 3/15/2017)
    Overall Quality
While the Tuff bed is well-made with quality materials, I only give it a 2-paw rating because my dog easily chewed a hole in it within the FIRST 30 SECONDS. It was not even a challenge for him. Beds that I have bought at Wal-mart for $20 have lasted longer than this. I really expected more from a $100 bed with a 90-day chew-proof guarantee. That being said, the company was very responsive to my claim and did offer to ship me a new cover right away. However given how quickly my dog chewed through the first one, I didn't have a great deal of faith that another cover would hold up any better. Therefore they gave me 50% off a Cujo cot, which I have ordered.

My 35 lb pit-lab mix chewed this bed and our other dog's bed down to the stuffing in the first night. I gave it 2 stars because the waterproof feature was amazing. I poured some water on it to test it and the water beaded and fell off easily, bed stayed completely dry which would be good for accidents. Suitable for dogs that slowly chew cheap beds but not powerful dogs.

    This is awesome!!
Last year we got a pug and this guy chewed through dollars store bed within days of getting them. So we spend the money on ballistic bed. A year later no holes. My pug Curly has a love hate relationship with his bed. He chews on the corners, tries to pull apart the Velcro , but it's pointless effort. He can't get through it. Worth every penny.
  • Overall good quality but loud Review by tate (Posted on 3/9/2017)
    Overall Quality
The bed is loud when you get on it. I have four dogs and only one sleeps on it. the others get freaked out.

K9 Ballistics' Response: If noise is a problem, switching over to a TUFF Velvet cover (the kind with a solid-color top and patterned sides) should do the trick. The TUFF Velvet is made from Ripstop ballistic nylon, like our standard TUFF covers, but the sleeping surface is coated with a layer of polyester fibers to give the bed a softer, velvety feel. It makes the bed cover more comfortable for dogs sensitive to textures, and it also muffles any noises the plain nylon can make. If you are interested in swapping covers, please contact us at [email protected]

  • Best Investment ever!!! Review by Steve (Posted on 3/7/2017)
    Overall Quality
This is an AMAZING bed from an AMAZING company. You can read the many reviews of others that had similar experience. First off the bed is like bomb-proof. Our GoldenDoodle destroys small buildings in a single chomp. We got tired of being beds from the local pet store only to find them half eaten with pieces strewn across the living room. The other half would come back to visit in the form of doodle barf. What a mess, and expensive too! We heard about this company's products from some friends so thought we would give it a try.

At first our Doodle didn't like the nylon-ish feel, but K9 Ballistics staff to the rescue! I imagine their team has red capes on as they solve problems like super heroes. They gave me some tips and also worked with me to solve the problem. Now our doodle loves the bed. And we love it because it's staying in one piece! Finally no more bed barf cleanup!

You'll love this bed I'm sure of it.
  • Bed is not indestructible. Review by Peggy (Posted on 3/3/2017)
    Overall Quality
Our Doberman unfortunately was able to chew threw the bed within 48 hrs of having it. Calling customer service was no help, they never answered the phone. I was able to make contact thru Facebook messenger and they were very helpful there. They instructed me to email photos which I did. Quick response with email. They gave me a choice for a 50% refund or new cover and we chose a new cover which we they had to us within the week and we are using it for our other dog since he's not a chewer/scratcher. Once we were able to get in touch with customer service they were friendly and prompt. I do feel that saying the bed is indestructible is off the mark though and is misleading. We do like the material, I just use a broom to sweep the hair off so cleaning it is easy.

This is my third K9 ballistics dog bed. The first two are at least 3 years old and one of those finally ripped a seam. The average dog bed bought at a pet store lasts my naughty labs anywhere from 20 minutes to 24 hours. The extra money has definitely been worth it.
  • Not a good investment. Review by Bunny's Mom (Posted on 3/2/2017)
    Overall Quality
Bed didn't last 2 days! The exterior has held up somewhat, but the first thing my pup did was rip the velcro off the backside and shred the interior when I was at work. I basically paid $135 for a shell. I've now just restuffed the inside with misc. blankets and nothing with fiberfill or loft materials. The blankets she doesn't shred to pieces, but pulls them out and plays with them. The perp is an 11 month old pit bull and lab mix named Bunny. Sorry, but the only way to prevent this is to cover the interior pillow with ANOTHER LAYER of denier and seal it up entirely. The perfect bed hasn't been invented yet...back to the drawing board folks.
  • Excellent purchase Review by Bonnie (Posted on 3/2/2017)

The bed is better than I thought. My dog loves it and so does my son's dog who visits on a regular bases; the bed has room for both to sleep on. With other beds my son's dog (a puppy) would chew and tear the beds or drag them through the dog door outside. With this bed he is unable to tear the bed and due to the size is unable to drag it very far and unable to get through the dog door. The bed is very durable and stays clean.

I don't know why I didn't purchase a bed from you sooner. I honestly thought I'd never find a bed that McGinty couldn't destroy, but I did with your bed. I had to find a bed that had a tough cover,no seams, and no zipper. McGinty is tough on all his toys and previous beds. Believe me McGinty has tried to put a hole in it, but I've learned the hard way. McGinty only gets the bed when he goes in his crate and it stays in there. I have a hard time getting him out of it when I get home from work.
  • My dog is not a happy camper Review by Michelle (Posted on 3/1/2017)
    Overall Quality
I do not like the foam cushion and neither does my dog. Instead of being a solid matress or cushion, it has section or seams that create indentations in the foam. My dog steps on it and flops because of the indentations. She now dreads going to bed.

K9 Ballistics' Response: The original mattress is channeled to prevent fill from shifting and clumping at one side of the bed. You can plump the bed up by grabbing and pulling apart the fiberfill through the mesh of the mattress and shaking it out; this will add volume and support to the mattress. If that doesn't fix the problem, swapping the nesting mattress for a sturdier orthopedic should do the trick. Please contact us at [email protected] if you're interested in changing the mattress.

I have two of these beds for my dogs when they are outside and an elevated bed from this company - all three have held up very well. They also wash up well, resist mildew, sun, and my three large dogs (each approx. 80 lbs.) using them continuously! This is a great and beautiful bed. However for my six month old English bulldog it was nothing but tissue paper. She started chewing the corners the first day, I sprayed it with bitter apple and sent an email to the company. They gave me an option of a refund or a new bed cover. I opted for the new bed cover. Figuring she'll stop chewing at some point and I can put it on. However in the meantime she decided to turn the bed over find the Velcro rip that open tear the zipper out of it and shred the innards so now I have one cover and no bed and she sleeps on a plywood floor now.

  • Big waste of money Review by Melissa (Posted on 2/2/2017)
    Overall Quality
First, the beds were not vacuum sealed when they arrived, which is what was advertised. Since they were not vacuum sealed, that automatically precluded our ability to return them had we wanted to. Second, because they were so "puffy," our dogs would not lay on them - and still won't. Big waste of money!

K9 Ballistics's Response: Not all of our items are vacuum-sealed, and for those that arrive without a seal, they can be returned or exchanged if they have not been used. If your dogs are not using the bed because it is too puffy, please contact us at [email protected] so that we can help find a solution to the problem.

The dog bed is what you expect in a durable dog bed. My dog is an extremely large and energetic Golden doodle who ruined 2 dog beds before I tried k9 ballistics. • Does the job!!! Review by LA Pet Lover (Posted on 1/31/2017)
    Overall Quality
Well, my search for the right chew proof bed has ended. Two little poodle mixes have gone through eight beds. They attack the seams and then the zippers. If this does not work, they gnaw on the same part of the bed until the fabric frays. Once that happens, they can reach the stuffing. Then another bed bites the dust. Finally, those days are over. The medium Tuff Bed defeated them. After a few hours of "exploring" the bed, they gave up and decided to take a nap - on the bed. This bed will probably outlast them.

So far so good. I can tell Ranger has been giving it a go due to the placement of the bed when I get home. There is one corner at the top side of the bed that he has been focusing on where he managed to get some of the white threading to stick out. He has not managed to get it to open up any further though. So far, I am very satisfied with the bed. I just wished I had ordered the bigger bed. Our two smaller dogs are sharing it with Ranger!
  • Highly recommend! Review by Happy pet owner (Posted on 1/29/2017)

This bed has held up with two determined dogs that have destroyed other beds. I highly recommend the Tuff Bed!! The pups got through the Velcro of the first tuff bed but did not damage the actual bed cover.

The customer service was exceptional! They sent a 2nd bed cover to nest with the first cover. The two bedcover combo has held up to all of the dogs attempts.
Due to its waterproof and durable quality, it makes for a perfect house bed and garage bed (when Mom & Dad are at work).
  • I would return it if I could Review by Denise (Posted on 1/28/2017)
    Overall Quality
Other review stated the be was noises, but I did not understand how a bed could be. Well, it is. My dog was not afraid of it as others stated, but every time he moves in the night, it wake me up. I had to move it out of our bedroom and into the basement. Lot of money for a bed that will not get used much. It does seem to be well made, but holds air and makes it a little unstable for the dog to walk on. Kind of like trying to lay on a balloon.

K9 Ballistics Response: Denise, we're sorry to hear that the bed isn't seeing much use. Do you know if it is the puffiness of the bed or the noise of the cover? We do make softer versions of the TUFF covers (called TUFF Velvet), which might solve that problem. If it's the puffiness of the bed, swapping out the nesting fill for an orthopedic one might do the trick. The orthopedic foam fills out the cover completely, leaving no extra space for air to get trapped inside. If you email us at [email protected], we can work on fixing the problem so that your dog has a bed that they will use.
  • Great material Review by Melissa (Posted on 1/28/2017)
    Overall Quality
Love the bed but my lab doesn't like the Velcro! so he keeps pulling it open and trying to get the stuffing, called and you quickly sent a replacement with zipper under The Velcro, afraid he opened it and tore the zipper so dont know how to keep him from opening the Velcro.love the material but wish it was already inclosing the stuffing but realize you want to make it remove able to wash.

K9 Ballistics Response: If he opened it even with the zipper, we recommend putting both covers on the bed and staggering them so that the Velcro ends up on opposite sides of the bed. That way, even if he opens the outer cover again, he cannot reach the closure of the inner cover to get at the stuffing again.
  • Best bed purchase I've ever made. Review by Caitlin (Posted on 1/27/2017)
    Overall Quality
3 months ago, my American Bulldog had to have surgery to remove about a pound and a half of her bed from her stomach. She is a serious chewer, everything goes in her mouth and into her stomach. I've had this bed a couple of weeks so far and she LOVES it. But best of all, she doesn't try to eat it. There is no trim or zippers or anything else that triggers her urge to chew. The fabric is tough and the bed is soft. Yes, the fabric is a little loud when she moves around, but it's TOTALLY worth the noise if she now has a sturdy and SAFE bed. I work hard for my money and have to carefully consider my purchases, but I will be scrimping and saving to be able to get these beds for my other dogs. Absolutely worth the price. Thank you.

Our English Bulldog puppy Tonka is really enjoying his bed. It is used in his kennel because we didn't want to use the hard trays and the other vinyl covered pad (that he tore at the zipper) any longer. He loves that he gets engulfed by the pillow when he lays in it. We were worried that he would not like it so much as he tends to like soft and cuddly beds - but they are easily torn up! He thinks his Tuff Bed is just the best...like him!

Love the bed so far! Our Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever puppy had chewed up 2 cheap beds. I thought about just continuing to replace the cheap ones but was afraid he's ingest some of the stuffing. Bit the bullet and went for one of these tuff beds and man am I glad I did! He uses it all the time, even chooses it over sleeping in our bed at night. I think he gets hot in our bed and the tuff bed has a cool surface. He's tried to play with it only a few times but besides that doesn't really chew on it. Definitely worth the investment.

Easy to put together. Very comfortable. I lay down on one of them with one of my dogs and we both loved it. They both seem to love the beds and so do I.

Love this bed. Have a 4 month old Yellow Lab and wasn't sure he would like it since the material isn't soft. He sniffed it, then just jumped into it and immediately curled up in it. Just now he took one of his chew toys to lay down in it. He plays on it - including pouncing onto it - so I can testify that puppy nails don't rip it. Can also testify to waterproof. I've only had him 1 week and I didn't get him outside quick enough to relieve himself. Pooled right in the center and easily wiped up.

I ended up buying the crate pad also.

Our lab, Bo has torn apart kiddy pools, doggie beds, you name it....he has chewed, torn, and ripped it apart. So when I found your product I was skeptical for sure but it sounded like it was the item for our beloved pet. We brought him inside and my husband showed him how to enjoy and lay down on his new bed. Then we moved his new K9 Ballistic bed out to his kennel in the garage (he can go in and out anytime he wants through a collar activated doggie door). He loves it! He hasn't torn it up and I don't think he could if he wanted too. Yesterday morning I went out and he was sprawled out with his legs kicked out under his infrared heater. He is loving life and most definitely his K9 Bed which is far better than the hard old concrete
  • Quality & tough, but my puppy is a little tougher Review by Maria (Posted on 1/15/2017)
    Overall Quality
I think K9 makes a good quality product, and has excellent customer service, I just happen to have a prolific chewer (8 mo. lab mix). Other dog beds have lasted less than 48 hrs with my girl, this one lasted almost 2 weeks before she got a hole in a corner and commenced unstuffing. Sent a picture to customer service and they promptly replied with the warranty option of a new cover AND multiple suggestions for flavor deterrents. I now have the second cover over the original cover, per the company's suggestion, so we'll see how that goes.

I bought a crate pad at the same time as the Tuff Bed and it is holding up exceptionally well. Prompt responses, timely shipping, friendly, and helpful. Highly recommend this company.

My Blue Healer has had this for 4 days now and so far it is the only thing he has not been able to tear up. With temperatures reaching the 20's last night, he decided it is much nicer to sleep on it rather than try to tear it up. He is about 8 months old and stays in a heated battle barn enclosure.

If it continues to hold up real well I am going to purchase the large size. If I had to rate this early, I would have to give it a full "FIVE PAWS"

  • K9 Ballistics, you nailed it with the TUFF BED..!! Review by Lori (Posted on 1/11/2017)
    Overall Quality
This bed is AWESOME. I have 3 dogs, all of which have the "if it has stuffing, it must die" attitude, and all prior dog beds have fallen victim to this. All EXCEPT for the Tuff Bed. Its been about a month, and I was sure that I was going to see some type of wear on it, but I'm ecstatic to say, that there is none! In fact, I think my dogs ended up giving up trying! I had needed 2, but with the track record I had, I wasn't about to buy both at the same time without knowing if it would hold up to its claims. But now, without question, I'm going to be purchasing another. Its definitely worth every penny and more, especially if you've spent the money that I have on beds that only ended up as a disappointment. Trust the reviews; these beds are legit.
  • Great product - well worth the cost. Review by Trailjunky (Posted on 1/4/2017)
    Overall Quality
I purchased these beds for our four dogs (2 labs, border collie, and golden retriever) because they made quick work of standard dog beds. These are indestructible - unless the dog finds the velcro opening to the enclosed pillow. I pointed this out to the folks at K9 Ballistics and they came up with a terrific solution. Now all four dogs can roam our 3 acres during the day and sleep comfortably at night on these great dog beds. The customer service of K9 ballistics is nothing short of outstanding.

We received our new bed in a timely manner. The bed is in great condition after 2 weeks (no chew holes or tears).

I like the addition of a zipper under the Velcro enclosure. It allows the Velcro to close more smoothly. We have K9 Ballistics bed from a year ago without that feature.

My 16 month old German Shepard still has some chewing tendencies. I caught her attempting to chew the Tuff Bed and reprimanded her, but all she does now is scratch a bit before settling in. The bed cover is holding up great.
The only other dog bed I have had that is even close to the quality of the Tuff Bed was from Filson, however it was 5 times more expensive and discontinued now.
    GREAT BED. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

After purchasing several beds at local chain Pet Stores and them falling apart I came across K9 Ballistic. She is comfortable and that's all that matters to us. Thanks K9 Ballistics

My dogs love their new bed!! Usually my Husky has shredded her new beds by now, but we are going on two weeks and bed still looks perfect. I wish I had known about these beds $300.00 ago!! That is how much I have wasted on other beds, they are always soft and pretty but don't last more than a week!!
  • As close to Airedale Proof as you're going to get!!! Review by Jan (Posted on 12/20/2016)
    Overall Quality
After our Airedales destroyed countless high quality beds from other manufacturers and the repairs were adding up to the cost of yet another bed, I discovered the K9 Ballistics beds. We've had two that have lasted a long time. The zipper on the bolster is a vulnerability that eventually succumbed to the terrier persistance, but the Tuff Bed with velcro is as good as new. So, when the last "conventional" beds gave up their stuffing and zippers, we ordered two more of these beds. The dogs prefer a softer surface, but I throw a cheap fleece blanket on top and all is well. Great product.

My puppy found the Velcro and luck was on my side as I caught her before she destroyed it :) An idea would be to put a zipper first then the Velcro as added protection. For now it will stay inside because I have had a couple of different beds she has destroyed.
  • So far I'm more than pleased with this bed. Review by Linda (Posted on 12/18/2016)
    Overall Quality
I have 4 miniature doxies (two are pups) who have destroyed three dog beds in the last few months. I have had the K9 bed about a week, and the only thing I've seen them do (when I first got it) is try to "dig" in it. That didn't work because the cover is thick and the bed is heavy, so they can't drag it around like the old beds. I don't think they'll be able to destroy this one!!

We have a 11 month old Pit Bull who ripped his first bed to shreds in just days; however, with this Tuff Bed- he has yet to get through the material. He will occasionally pull at the Velrco on the back but loses interest quickly once he realizes that he is not getting anywhere with the material and padding. I am completely in love with this product and when I see Tyson sleeping peacefully I am convinced he loves it too. Being able to add his name and choose the color are also awesome features! Well worth the money- high quality product!

Every time my six year old Husky/Corgi mix started feeling warm and fuzzy she'd start chewing on the corner of her bed. I tried several beds, from which pieces of stuffing still remain in the carpet, so looked on the internet for her "Last Chance Bed". Her butt was going to be sleeping on the floor if she chewed this one up. It's been several days now since she received her new bed... several days longer than any other bed has survived. She loves it. So do I. This is an exceptional product and worth every penny.

  • Tuff but Comfy! Review by Diane (Posted on 12/10/2016)
    Overall Quality
So far so good! We just received the original tuff bed. It fluffs up nicely to a really thick, soft mattress. I thought the outer material being tuff and all might be stiff and uncomfortable but our beagle, Teddy took to it right away and nestled deep into the bed. He was very comfortable all day. I love how simple the construction is without any ridges or folds to tempt Teddy to gnaw on and the ease of taking it on and off. Nice job, K9 Ballistics!
  • Tough! Our dogs LOVE them! Review by Jayme (Posted on 12/9/2016)

These are some great, TOUGH beds! Our two pittie girls no longer chew their beds but have torn through quite a few by digging and scratching (they just will NOT be convinced that they can't bury their bone in the bed!). So far, digging and scratching hasn't even fazed these tough beds! I highly recommend them and the dogs are on them all day! I think it's true love.
  • Very pleased Review by Georgie (Posted on 12/9/2016)

It is very sturdy and my Pit has not tried to chew it. Matter of fact, she seems a little leary of it. We just received a couple days ago, so giving her time to adjust. She does lay up against, just not on it yet. After reading the other reviews, maybe I should have went with the plush. Maybe this bed is too noisy for her. We will give it some time. I am very satisfied.
  • Not as Advertised (Not Chew Proof at all) Review by Mad (Posted on 12/9/2016)
    Overall Quality
We purchased this because it was guaranteed "Chew Proof". This is very misleading as our dog managed to chew it up within one day. The dog bed is very nice and soft but do NOT purchase this if your dog remotely chews at ALL. We have a bean bag that is more resilient than these beds as our dog gnaws on that and cannot tear it, but managed to have this torn within one day. They are NOT chew proof nor durable and even though our dog really liked it and took to it quickly, it is not tough. I have a picture of the torn bed and will be trying to get a replacement, but I can already see that there is going to be a lot of patching and fixing involved. Their "Chew Proof Guarantee" offers one cover replacement only, but they are flimsy and subject to tearing. Otherwise you will only be refunded 50% of your order.

    Where do I start?

My son has a lab mix who has made it her mission in life to destroy any dog bed she can get to. She spent two hours with this bed and there wasn't a mark on it. The first round goes to the bed.

My wife's Bichon got sick on it yesterday. A damp paper towel was all that was needed to clean it up.

Like others, I questioned the cost of the bed; at this point in time, I believe it was money well spent.

We have a 3 year old boxer that gets to playing and has torn up every bed we have tried...no matter the price. This has happened in the first day of ownership. In the past, most beds that I would buy would only last less than 24 hours. My TUFF bed has lasted over 1 week!! Great product and would definitely recommend to owners with dogs that love to aggressively chew beds. No seams have been broken into and it's super easy to clean. It's a bit noisy though when they move around on the bed, took some time getting used to. Overall, awesome product and a fix to my pup's destructive bed chewing!

Our German Shepherd is now almost 3 years old and he absolutely loves his bed, which he shares occasionally with our Birman cat. He always receives a face-bath from her for his generosity. As a younger dog he was a chewer of everything and this is why we chose this Tuff bed for him although he really hasn't chosen to chew it at all. He likes it too much for that. The removable cover is easy to wash as is the mattress. Great bed and will always do business with K-9 for my bedding needs.

Love my new dog beds! Took a min for the dogs to get used to the material but they love them. I will say they are 98% chew proof due to my pit bulls love for chewing and pissing me off.. but was only able to get 2 or 3 small tears in it. After a replacement hopefully he'll be done and this will be the last bed!!

So our youngest pup, gets bored easily and always resorts to chewing her bed. This has helped curve her enthusiasm just a smudge. She was still able to get into the corners where the seams meet, but we have been able to stop her from chewing more on the corners by spraying apple bitters all around the seams. She usually bits holes everywhere, and with this bed she can't just the corners. But this is the longest she had a bed, maybe we will try a round bed next time and not the square.

We are one week in and so far, the bed has held up and he seems to love it! He destroyed the first bed within ten minutes of arriving in our home from the SPCA. After gaining an understanding of the extent of his chewing, I knew we needed something really tough. He had taken over the couch as his bed and he was slowing tearing small pieces of fabric out and pulling out the foam and stuffing. I began researching tough beds and was so happy to discover K9 Ballistics. We are very happy with our purchase and highly recommend it for heavy chewers!

  • Not happy. Do NOT buy! Review by Karen (Posted on 11/11/2016)
    Overall Quality
This bed is ridiculous. The stuffing inside is exactly that - stuffing. Nothing orthopedic about it and it barely fills up the bed. My German Shepherd got on it and it flattened right away (naturally). I bought an XL. I'd like to return it and get my money back but apparently once the vacuum seal is broken, that's it. The only thing that "appears" to be good quality with this is the cover that goes around the stuffing. So, I'm going to measure it and see if I can fit a small baby mattress inside of it or some memory foam to make it better. Bottom line - do not buy this product. Do not waste your money. I would not recommend it for any size dog. If you are going to charge high prices, you should be able to back it up with high quality products.

K9 Ballistics Response: We're sorry that the bed wasn't as expected, but you purchased the Original TUFF bed, which has a nesting mattress composed of polyester fiber filling. For an orthopedic bed, please check out the Orthopedic TUFF Bed, which has a memory foam mattress.
  • Tough and looks good too. Review by Chelley (Posted on 11/11/2016)

Great quality bed; looks great too - love the embroidery with my dogs name. Unfortunately, she did manage to tear a hole in one corner within the first 48 hours. Its really amazing that the whole thing is not torn up, though so I am very pleased. There is a mesh covering the foam on the inside, and when she pulled that out it seemed unsatisfying to her, so the bed so far is still intact.

I love the beds. Easy to wipe off and dogs took them quickly. I feel really good about buying them for my dogs (Max and Lilly) instead of buying those worthless and cheap dog beds. I woke up last night and heard Lilly scratching on her bed I guess trying to make a nest? I spoke with Lilly and Max this morning and they will be emailing you as soon as they are up and get their email opened. Thanks for a really good experience. You guys are the best.

We love Tuff beds. Extremely durable but this last one we purchased is so noisy! Every time my dog moves at night I wake up... A bit disappointed, it puffy and has lots of fluff but as she sits or adjusts its very noisy.

K9 Ballistics Response: Christopher, if the material is too noisy, we recommend the velvet version of the TUFF bed—it's just as durable as the plain TUFF, but the sleeping surface is coated in a layer of plush polyester fibers that help muffle dog sounds and also make the bed a little softer for your dog.

I’ve had my 3-year-old Weimaraner for 6 months and she LOVES this bed. I was afraid the cover was too hot for her but after she chewed through the 1st cover I pulled it off and put it aside until I could get a replacement and I found her sleeping on the cover.
She has now nibbled on the 2nd cover so I have ordered a 3rd just to be proactive. So yes, we will have had 3 Tuff Bed covers in just over 6 months but they are by far the best product I can find. My girl is crated while we are gone and she has destroyed everything else and only nibbled on the Tuff Bed so my choice is clear. I’ll just keep adding new covers. Thanks for a great product.
  • Our dog bed is GREAT!! Review by Deb (Posted on 11/2/2016)

We have two Dobermans, the oldest of which is 10 months old. She has chewed and destroyed 4 doggy beds, two blankets and one sleeping bag!! She is a very gentle and lovable pooch but loves to chew. Her new bed is not only comfy but indestructible! They both managed to ruin the gift ball you sent though!! The personal engraving is a very nice and caring touch
  • This bed has been great! Review by Dawn (Posted on 11/2/2016)

We use the bed in a large dog crate. We have one dog that likes to chew everything...dog beds (at least 4), throw rugs (at least 7), blankets, shoes, table/chair legs, woodwork/baseboards, tennis balls, pool noodles, pool floats, our sons mattress, ropes, even the doggie door dog flap! We've had the bed for 11 days and it's still in one piece! He has NOT chewed up this bed and he spends several hours at a time crated with the bed. So far, we are very impressed. The other dogs enjoy laying on the bed as well. Will probably purchase another one in the future. This is a quality purchase!

This is the third Tuff Bed I've bought. I'll never buy another brand. The covers have been indestructible for my diggers, and the cushion is baffled so it stays in place pretty well with a few shakes now and then. I also have the K9 car seat cover, which I LOVE.

I have a mastiff that has destroyed 2 beds,he's very strong and has thick and sharp nails.I've only had my bed for a couple of weeks now,but he has tried several times to rip that bed.when he first laid on it,he went right after it.I think he's given up.he loves sleeping on it. I would really recommend this bed for anyone.if my mastiff couldn't tear it up,it's a good product.

  • Disappointed Review by Matthew for "Santa's Little Helper" (Posted on 10/5/2016)
    Overall Quality
Day 1: I really thought this was the solution. However, "Santa's Little Helper" helped himself to the bed as a snack. Come on K9 Ballistics - for the price these should be 'bullet' proof. My puppy is mocking you!

K9 Ballistics Response: We apologize that your dog managed to damage the bed. It sounds like Santa's Little Helper might be a more persistent or heavier bed chewer, and in that case you may want to consider our Cujo Cot Raised Aluminum Bed. The Original TUFF Bed is rated a 4 out of 5 in terms of durability but is by no means indestructible—it's meant for more moderate or light chewers, and still has vulnerable points that more destructive dogs can exploit to do damage. The Cujo Cot, on the other hand, has a special no-chew design that was specifically created to stump even the worst of bed destroyers. It's the only bed we have that we rate a 5 out of 5 in terms of durability, and while it won't stop bullets, it'll stop 99% of chewers. Of course this bed is covered under our warranty, so make sure to send an email to our warranty department ([email protected]) with a photo of the damage if you have not already done so, so that they can get a claim started for you.

  • A Winner of a Bed! Review by Jennifer (Posted on 9/21/2016)
    Overall Quality
This bed is so worth the price! After buying several generic dog beds, my 2 outside fur kids would have stuffing and fabric from one side of the yard to the other by the next morning. Even though these beds are a little pricey, well worth the investment. The bed is heavy so my 2 fur kids have not even tried to move it and shred it!!! Very soft and easy to clean. Will be investing into another bed, so they don't have to share!!!
  • THIS IS BY NO MEANS CHEW PROOF! DO NOT BE SCAMMED Review by Pietro (Posted on 9/19/2016)
    Overall Quality
I did not have any success with this product at all. I think this was a very expensive waste of money. I bought the original Tuff bed for my 8 month old German Shepherd and within the first 24 hours my dog had already ripped through the "chew proof" bed cover. I was so upset when I got home to see the bed stuffing all over the room. I cannot believe that this product did not even last a full day with my dog. I bought this product because I thought it would be the perfect solution for my dog, however this was not the case. Just more frustration and cleaning up.

K9 Ballistics Response: It sounds like you might have a heavy chewer, Pietro, in which case you may want to consider our Cujo Cot Raised Aluminum Bed. The Original TUFF Bed is meant for more moderate or light chewers, and still has vulnerable points that more destructive dogs can exploit to do damage, whereas the Cujo Cot has a special no-chew design that was specifically created to stump even the worst of bed destroyers. • Excellent bed if you don't want to keep buying dog beds. Review by Kathryn M. (Posted on 9/16/2016)
    Overall Quality
When we got our first K9Ballistic dog bed, our 4 dogs (1 large part Great Pyrenees mix and 3 Dachshunds) took it as a challenge to de-stuff and destroy. They gave up after chewing on the corners for a bit and realized they were wasting their time. Yes, some of the corners are a bit chewed looking but that's it. We got our 2nd smaller bed for the 3 Dachshunds and they haven't even tried to chew it. WE all love the beds.
  • Great Outer material, I would definitely buy more outer Review by Todd (Posted on 9/15/2016)
    Overall Quality
I think the bed material is great, and it is finely crafted. The inner lining isn't the best, its way to flat. Squishes way to fast, and you feel the floor instantly. I bought it mainly for the outer shell. Will most likely be using another stuffing.
So far the 90 day warranty of it being chew proof is holding up. Because my dogs wont use it, It sits there, my dog lays next to it. http://imgur.com/a/JNmMH

K9 Ballistics Response: Todd, if your dog won't use the bed, please send us an email at [email protected] so that we can work on finding a solution for you. We also offer an orthopedic mattress that will work with the cover, and it is firmer than the nesting fill; swapping the nesting for the orthopedic might just do the trick.
  • Excellent bed Review by Meghan (Posted on 9/14/2016)
    Overall Quality
Our lab/hound/? mix has made short work of two other beds and can destroy a stuffed toy in about 30 seconds flat. She was skeptical of this bed at first, it traps air and so was a bit too "poofy", and the noise of the fabric under her nails put her off a bit. It took about two weeks for her to warm up to it. Now it's her favorite spot, and she sleeps on it all night. Despite the fact that it is also her favorite wrestling partner and she enjoys dragging it all over the house with her teeth, no holes so far (3 months). She's a heavy shedder and I love the fact that hair does not cling to this bed at all. Just shake it out, very easy to keep clean. We got the lattice print and it's a nice modern looking neutral tone that blends in well with our family room.
  • Time will tell Review by Shari (Posted on 9/14/2016)
    Overall Quality
I think we all like this bed. I bought the large (we have a Golden and a Lab). The Golden is my chewer, so we went with the heavy duty material. The material is noisy; like a big tarp. Neither dog has any interest in this bed unless we encourage them, at which they pounce on it. The cover seems way too big for the stuffing--a lot of loose fabric. Time will tell.
  • Not what I thought Review by John (Posted on 9/14/2016)
    Overall Quality
The Bed is too puffy, my medium size dog doesn't like it. Also the cover is not a soft comfortable cloth, its almost plastic-like, and crinkles when she tries to get on it.
I would have sent it back but I didn't read the small print before opening. Even if I did read the small print, I still needed to open it and try it out to decide if I really would like it, and by then it's too late, "open it and you own it"! I thought this would be a firm large bed with a suitable cloth to be warm and comfortable for my dog, I am not sure if she will get use to it.....my friend is going to make a cover to go over it so my dog might like it. "Open at your own risk".

K9 Ballistics Response: John, if your dog doesn't like the nesting mattress, we can try exchanging it for an orthopedic mattress instead (we can also exchange the cover for a softer TUFF Velvet if you do not like the texture of the plain TUFF) so that the bed is firmer and less puffy. Please contact us at [email protected] if you're interested so that we can get the process started.

These beds are amazing, the only ones our 110+ lb mastif/shepherd mix puppies haven't been able to destroy. Nothing chewed up on them after almost three months. Will definitely buy another for our 2 year old husky/golden. We love these beds, can't say enough positive about them.

  • Lasted less than a year Review by Jason N (Posted on 8/26/2016)
    Overall Quality
Recently bought a new cover less than a year ago as my dog destroyed the previous one after two years. This one has lasted less than a year and we have a hole that I can now put my fist into. 90 days is great for a warranty and all but I would have hoped that this would have lasted for more than a year, especially at the cost. Sadly, this will be my last k9 ballistics purchase as $125 is a lot of money for a cover and I cannot afford to keep replacing it after only a few months of usage.
  • Exactly what I needed. Review by Chuck (Posted on 8/12/2016)
    Overall Quality
The puppy is the one that likes to rip stuffing out of the dog beds. Destroyed hers and then destroyed his. I bought this bed for the adult dog that just wants to sleep all day. I've had this bed for a couple of weeks now and I don't think the puppy has even tried to chew it. I did spray some Bitter Apple on the corners and the velcro seam based on advice from some of the existing reviews just to be safe but, so far so good. I'm going to buy another bed from K9 Ballistics for the puppy.

The only con I can think of was that the bed was a bit poofy at first, the adult dog took a little while to get used to it. He's torn both of his ACLs previously, so he's a little careful with his back legs but it only took a day or two for him to get comfortable and he snores like a motorboat now. Sometimes it's difficult to wake him up out of this bed.
  • Everyone should buy this bed - It's Spectacular!! Review by Merry (Posted on 8/12/2016)

I bought this for my daughter's pitbull. It had torn up every other bedding we tried. She loved this bed from the moment I took it out of the box. Laid down on it immediately and loves it. So much better than other dog beds; softer; more comfortable and best of all doesn't chew on it. Absolutely amazing product!!
  • Good material... but not 100% "bullet proof" Review by Tony (Posted on 8/12/2016)
    Overall Quality
The material for this bed cover seems to be very well made and "tuff" as the bed's name implies. However, I need to make something clear to anyone out there considering this bed. It IS NOT completely chew proof. My Irish Terrier found the velcro strap across the bottom of the bed just a few days after it arrived. I have come home from work on at least two occasions now to find the bed flipped over and the velcro opened up with the bedding revealed and a couple small punctures where she had bit into the bedding material. I guess there really is no solution for this because I believe if it were a zipper she would have figured that out eventually also (she's a pretty smart cookie). The only way to make this bed 100% chew proof is to possibly have the bed filled from the factory with no openings on the cover at all. That aside the product seems pretty well made, but for the price I paid for it I simply cannot give it the 5 paws since I am not sure how long the bed will last now that she has figured out its secret. Also a side note for anyone getting the embroidery offered, don't do it if your dog is a real heavy chewer as they will just rip the thread out of the seams. To k9 ballistics credit though this is posted on the site when purchasing. Just thought I would say it here also

K9 Ballistics Response: If your dog has figured out how to open the Velcro, please contact our warranty team at [email protected] if you would like a replacement cover per the warranty. Covering the bed with both covers and staggering the two so that the Velcro ends up on opposite sides of the mattress will prevent your dog from reaching the bedding again even if they manage to open the outer Velcro closure.

  • Bed seems to be holding up Review by Suzanne (Posted on 8/10/2016)
    Overall Quality
Received the bed about a week ago, the minute we had it out of the bag, my Vizsla, Henry was excited to lay on it. He absolutely loves it, I was a little hesitant to spend the extra money on the bed, but after I spent $75.00 on the last one that he chewed up I took a chance. He has attempted to chew on the corners and tries to toss it around but seems to have given up, now he just plops down on it and takes his snooze.
  • Good Product - Not Boxer Proof!!! Review by Raleigh (Posted on 8/3/2016)
    Overall Quality
I received a Original Tuff Bed and within 2 days my Boxer figured out how to open up the velcro and he destroyed the inner bed. K9 Balistics customer service was excellent. They sent a whole new bed even though they did not warranty the inner bed. Once I received the new bed I placed the 1st beds cover over the new bed so my boxer could not get into the velcro and destroy the inner bed. Within just a few days, he was able to chew through the cover. These beds are pretty durable but for my boxer just not durable enough.
  • needs time Review by Barbara (Posted on 8/1/2016)
    Overall Quality
Quality is excellent, closure is secure. Like its water proof for outside. and washable...

That said, I have 2 maltepoos, they are small dogs (12 lbs each). When I put down the bed my little one immediately jumped up and down on it and loved it, the other one has been on it a few times. It really is nice and thick, but the height is making my dogs hesitate using it as they are shorties...Now, I still really like the bed and will take the time to encourage their using it, which I haven't done. Even if it doesn't work out for them, I will use it in the house for me to sit on so I can get down to their level to play and communicate. It really is great quality and I think a big dog would be better to easily acclimate themselves to its use. its a medium as both of mine can fit on it.

  • Feeling disappointed... Review by Rene (Posted on 7/30/2016)
    Overall Quality
I bought my first K9 bed in January, due to a puppy that would tear through anything. The bed has definitely stood up to that (5 stars for that). I had to wash the cover because it started to smell really bad and was filthy from my two dogs running in with wet paws all the time. After washing the cover and putting it back on, my puppy had a "tummy accident" all over the bed. I cleaned it up immediately but the smell and some of the vomit leaked through the cover into the bed - nightmare!! I can't help but wonder if by me washing the cover, it took some sort of "waterproof" coating off of the cover and that's why it leaked through. I have to admit, paying as much as I did for this bed, I'm a little disappointed just after 6 months and it is now pretty much like any other dog bed. I originally posted a review on the toughness of the bed, I just wanted to put this review out, so that everyone else knows - these beds are not completely "smell proof" and "water proof".

We received our new Tuff bed last week and so far so good. Our 2 year old Bernese Mountain Dog seems to love it! It must be so much more comfortable for him than the floor as we catch him sprawled out on it frequently. Took him a day or 2 to get used to it puffing up on him when he stepped on it but he seems to be past that now. I only docked a star since we haven't seen him bite it much yet so I can't comment on the durability other than the fabric looks sturdy.

OK, so I purchased Bella's Tuff Bed on 6/9/2016
And it has held up like a CHAMP. I've gone thru a few beds with my Bella and this bed is by far the best money every spent. I've recommended this bed to my sister who was having the same issue with her dog (Ranger), and I believe she bought one as well. I added the embroidery of Bella's name on her bed and it just gave it that extra touch to an already awesome bed. THANK YOU K9 Ballistics for creating an amazing and strong bed.

Unfortunately we lost our beloved Golden Retriever Boomer. We decided after a while to find a new puppy which we did. From the ordering to the shipping to receiving the product we had an excellent experience. Our new puppy loves his awesome bed and he's a chewers. Absolutely no problems! The bed is comfortable and tough! I recommend this to anyone.

I have a female dobie who just turned 1 last week. she was scared stiff of the bed. she gets car sick si I thought that may have been why she was afraid to get on it.wobbling too much. After 2 days of that I decided to take the blown up stuff out of the bed and put 2 folded bedspreads flat in it.It took the blown up look out of it so it layed flat for her. she seemed fine but in the night she woke up and evidently started chewing away and ched a hole where her name was and it was the size od a saucer. she also chewed a hol;e in 3 of there 4 corners. So it was ruined completely. so I have lost too many beds and money for them and now she will go on a metal crate 48" long and sleep on the plastric tray with nothing in with her. I have her brother max also and he left his alone . Guess he's more grown out of that stuff but she is not. I don't blame the product at all as I think it was a very good and strong material for sure. It's just one more loss for me.Getting used to it. I'm 80 yrs old myself so have had enough. Was gonna have a picture take n of the holes but that seemed not a good idea at all. so thanks anyway. Mary

The quality is way better then the beds I have bought in the past. My one issue is size, hard to see what size will work your dog with online purchase. I have a white Shepard/Lab mix who should fit on the medium size but I think I should have went with large. And not sure why but he is also scared of it and hasn't slept on it yet. I also bought a medium for my Pug/Boston terrier mix and he loves it. For the price I hope these beds last longer then store bought beds.

This dog bed is perfect. My first dog bed was from Walmart, cost $40 and lasted 3 hours before the stuffing was strewn all over the floor. I repaired it, then repaired it again. At that point my husband found the Tuff Bed and ordered it. Our Brittany Spaniel looks and paws at it then lies down. It's easy to vacuum and spot clean. I haven't washed it yet but don't think it will be an issue.

Year old Gordon setter chewed the corner off the first night. 6 year old Gordon Setter will put his head on SOMETIMES, but the bed is too puffy, too slippery...must feel like stepping onto a trampoline to my dogs. I am afraid I wasted my money...and I had very high hopes after my pointer had to be put down from complications from eating her blanket...she taught the year old pup. I am so afraid of losing another dog that way...and hoped these beds would be the solution. They aren''t. Sorry I cannot be more positive.

My active puppy, who is mostly a jaw with 2 eyes and 4 legs, has been using the new ballistic bed and it is unharmed. I read other reviews where the corners were chewed so before I gave the new bed to the dog I treated each corner with sour apple flavor dog aerosol and let it dry. This seems to have worked perfectly. I like the way the bed works and the puppy does too. :-) woof.

My dogs like their TUFF beds better than any other bed they have had. They use them more than any of the others we have tried. The younger dog has anxiety issues and did manage to chew through a corner during a storm, but K9 Ballistics quickly provided a new cover and all is well with that one so far. Other beds we tried were shredded during anxiety attacks, so the TUFF bed is definitely progress on that front.

I bought two original Tuff beds for my two Dobermans --who love to chew their blankets and beds --about one month ago. To my amazement, they have not chewed their beds. I was so impressed with the material that I ordered two more beds -- one for the downstairs and one for our bedroom. I would definitely recommend canine ballistics beds. They are a little pricey; however, they are worth the money. I would say so far so good. Let's hope it continues. I would definitely recommend this product.

We have been through four beds with our 8 month old Dobie, so was advised to try this bed, and the first night on it, she dug through the covers to uncover the new bed, and chewed through the corner, luckily, found out before she got to the pad. Waiting to hear from k9ballistics on a replacement cover hopefully. Definitely wasn't tough to chew through. Hopefully better luck coming. I wish I knew why they like to destroy their beds

Well THIS bed totally works ... to the point where even after just a few weeks, my dog doesn't even TRY to tear it up any more. HOWEVER, another bed he's never bothered with (not a K-9 Ballistics bed) is now in shreds. Looks like I may be buying another K-9 Ballistics bed soon!!!

This bed was a gift for a good friend with a Doberman puppy and also a pitbull in the house, and between both dogs, neither has been able to bite through the bed, the puppy loves it, and my friend is very happy with the bed so far. I would highly recommend this company and bed to future customers.

I have been able to finally use the kevlark9 bed to help train my dog whom has been constantly using pee pads. But now she holds it until i let her out for over the last 2 weeks. She did get sick on her bed. I was able to take kennel & bed outside hose it off and was dried in under 10 min. I got the largest size bed and glad I finally ordered, only wish i ordered it earlier.

I needed a chew proof bed for my grand dog. Got the original TUFF and it didn't last 24 hours before the dog (Lab) chewed through to the stuffing. Customer service was very responsive. People need to note that the warranty is only for one free replacement cover. Five stars for customer service. Only 1-2 stars for the bed.
  • This worked for me! Review by Redbone Hound Pup (Posted on 6/17/2016)
    Overall Quality
My pretty Miss TulaRoo who looks at you with that innocent face and has eaten to date - 4 dog beds, an office chair, a key fob for my car, a futon, multiple phone charger cords - has not chewed this bed to bits. I was skeptical at first, but had bought the bed as a kind of last hope. I got the red color (which I'm mentioning because this was the first bed that my dogs didn't all try to claim right at first and I think that may have had to do with either the fluffiness or the color) - She hasn't even tried to tear this one up - at least not that I can see. The cover is made of a good strong material. The cushion is one piece and not from what I can tell made of just fill. I'm not sure what others expect (for those folks that complained about a terrier chewing or the labs I suggest the raised beds. They are inexpensive and have no filling at least until you get them past the chew phase and a lot more exercise ). For me it's worked well and I'll be getting the crate pad next. Thanks for a great product. Now to find a chew proof office chair - a chew proof key fob etc.

Oskar had an accident where we didn't hear that he wanted to go outside and he peed on his bed. I noticed that immediately and sopped it up. Removed the cover to find the stuffing completely dry. I washed the cover and it's as good as new. I've had Oskar for 3 months and prior to this bed, he had already chewed up two other beds.
  • Love it, But Already Has a Hole Review by Ethan (Posted on 6/16/2016)
    Overall Quality
Our two dogs (German Shorthaired Pointers) love their new bed, but just shy of a week of us receiving it, they already have torn a hole in it. They are both chewers and so far, nothing has been able to resist their chewing. I'm not sure if it's completely worth the price if you have a true chewer that seems to be able to chew through anything.

A good side is that one of our GSP's is a puppy, and he peed on the bed. The pee did not soak into the material at all, and we were completely able to wipe up the pee without leaving a smell or stain. The dogs love the bed, too. I was worried about the material being too stiff, but they absolutely love laying on it.

Our dog, Sage, is 7 year old English setter who loves to dig with his paws into the carpet and chairs. He also chews and rubs his face up against surfaces to clean his mouth after eating. He had commandeered a large chair in our family room and made it his own. Finally we got rid of the chair and replaced it with the TUFF bed. He really avoided it at first. After about 2-3 days he started laying on it for short periods of time. Then he would jump on it or rubs is paws on it but sleep on my son's bed or in the living room. He now curls up on it as if was always his. The smell that lingered always from the old chair is gone, and this bed absolutely has stood up to his abuse. Thanks for a great product!

Our Bulldog chewed up every bed we put in front of him. We bought one for where he sleeps and he took to it right away. He can not, or at least has not destroyed it yet. • Good Review by Dog Mommy (Posted on 6/13/2016)
    Overall Quality
I recently bought two new K9 beds. The old ones are now four years old, and while they are still pretty good, I thought it was time for new ones. The stains in the fabric after four years, even with regular washing, makes them look a little shabby.

The old ones: the puppies chewed their way through them four years ago. The company sent me two new covers. The puppies chewed smaller holes in the new covers, but by using double covers the beds held up well enough. The puppies also ate all the baseboard in the kitchen, the legs on the kitchen chairs, and part of the kitchen table. So that the beds were not perfect, well, these were puppies who knew how to destroy.

Now that the puppies are four year old dogs they are thankfully past chewing. They jumped onto the new beds right away and are happy with them. The fabric covers are just as good as they were four years ago. As to the filling inside, I liked the construction of the old ones a little better. They were constructed as several tubes of filling and created a very even, thick mattress. The new versions are two sections instead of several tubes and more loose. Still, they are of much better quality than cheap beds.

I purchased the chew proof dog bed for my small terrier (he's 18 lbs). He's chewed through every bed we've had for him so after finding these chew proof beds I ordered one. Within a month he chewed through the corner of the cover. Customer service was great with getting me a replacement cover through the warranty. However within another 2 months he chewed through the replacement cover as well, and ripped up the inside of the bed. The search for a chew proof bed continues.

Our new K9 Ballistics outdoor bed is the best bed ever! We use it outside on our deck. Love the camo, and being able to personalize it.

  • Worth the Money! Review by Lunden (Posted on 6/2/2016)

I have a 1 year old German Shepherd/Husky mix who's about 80-85lbs and a powerful chewer. He's destroyed so many other beds, including the TUFF crate pad. I was hesitant to purchase this due to his destructive chewing. After receiving the bed, my dog has never been happier. He LOVES this bed. I purchased the it in the XL, even though they recommended the large to me. The size is perfect because he has some extra room to sprawl out. It is a tad noisy, but it's not overwhelming and it didn't seem to bother my pup. He thought it was more of a toy, than anything. He does bite at the corners every now and then, but nothing happens. The only "damaging" thing that's happened is the embroidery, where I got it customized, has started to slightly fray. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase and would highly recommend this to EVERYONE!

Both of our pitbulls fell in love with the bed. The minute we put them on the floor, the dogs jumped on them and laid down. Well, I received my Great Dane's replacement bed and applied the suggestion to put the new cover on backward (opening on opposite side).
This works great. I have gone into her house three times thus far, only to find the bed turned upside down-clear indication that she was attempting another assault. But the staggered openings have thwarted her destructive efforts.
Thank you K9 for the replacement and great advise!
  • Little disappointed Review by Lisa (Posted on 5/25/2016)
    Overall Quality
I've had a lot of dog beds in the past and when my husband saw this one we decided to try it. We just didn't realize the 90 day warranty was a one time offer. That's our fault for not reading correctly. So the first time we leave our dog with the bed he destroys it and we were only gone an hour! He flipped it over found the velcro, chewed through it and got into the filing. I called and realized I only get to do this once and of course the filling isn't covered in the warranty. I have since received a new cover and I have put it on like they said, so we will see. I'm sure he will do the exact same thing again and we will be out a $200 bed. I've had other dog beds replaced in the past for chewing, so this isn't an exceptional offer.

K9 Ballistics Response: We're sorry your dog opened the Velcro! If you use both the old and new cover on the bed and stagger the two so that the Velcro closures end up on opposite sides of the bed, it will prevent this from happening again.

Pit/Lab mix Maverick requires constant stimulation so he gets bored easily. Quickly was able to get past the velcro and into the lining. An additional means of closure would make this a very good product. So far he has not been able to damage the cover.

K9 Ballistics Response: If your dog has figured out the Velcro, please contact our warranty department at [email protected] They can send out the warranty replacement cover, and you can use it to double-cover the bed with both the old and new cover. If you stagger the two covers so that the Velcro closure ends up on opposite sides of the bed, it will prevent this issue from happening again.

I'm only giving 4 stars seeing as my dogs have had their tuff bed for only a week now and so far *knock on wood* it's perfect...! Only one of the two is a bed chewer and by chew I mean rip into shreds until you can't even tell what it was originally. She normally does this when she is upset with us for leaving her more than 3-4hrs at a time or especially after having been to the kennel for a couple weeks while we were on vacation. As soon as she's home and everyone is sleeping she gets her revenge. This has cost us lots and lots of money, praying the tuff bed stays in tact for a very long time!

  • The Shell is Tough...But Not the Embroidery! Review by Phil (Posted on 5/23/2016)
    Overall Quality
We've had our new bed for a little over a week now. The material that the outer shell is constructed of is so far withstanding the constant attempts by my five month old puppy to destroy It. However, within a day or two, my puppy was able to destroy part of the embroidering of his name that I paid extra for and looked really nice out of the box. Before warned that the embroidering, despite no mention of this fact in the guarantee or advertisement, is not tough and easily destroyed by a puppy who scratches or bites at it. If I had to do it over again, I would have gotten it without the embroidering. Now it just looks messy. If I had to suggest something to the company, it would be that you wore for some sort of tough Velcro ballistic grade cover that can be put over the name until the puppy gets out of the teething stages.
  • Great dog bed Review by J (Posted on 5/21/2016)

I looked and looked for a bed that was made of difficult to destroy material and filled will something supportive. Admittedly I was skeptical of the filling when I ordered it but my 60 lb shepherd mix had readily destroyed two other beds that were both flat within a week. However, it seems my skepticism was unfounded... the bed is resiliently 'fluffy'. In fact, it was so fluffy (and trapped air in the cover) that my dog wasn't so sure he liked it in the beginning. Two weeks in and no complaints...if it holds up a few months in the same shape I'll order my older dog one also!

My two rotties have managed to completely destroy every bed we ever got them, sometimes within minutes. After spending well over $1k on beds over the years, I thought I'd give it a try. It's now been 6 months and not so much as a hole. At first they didn't like it because it kinda felt like a half inflated mylar balloon, so I had to leave a gap in the velcro for air to escape. They got used to it about a week later. Now I'm buying two more to have around the house. Good investment.

  • Almost a great product Review by Ruth M (Posted on 5/16/2016)
    Overall Quality
We purchased 2 beds - 1 for each lab - a male and female, each 12 months old. 1 bed was damaged. The female was able to get the Velcro open, tear through the inner cover and remove a large amount of the fil. She has destroyed at least 6 Kong beds. We think if the bed also had 6 or 8 metal snaps in addition to the Velcro it would withstand about anything. Despite the result, we think the Tuff bed is the best on the market.

K9 Ballistics Response: Unfortunately, adding any metal parts to the bed will give the dog a place to target, and they may also pose a problem if accidentally swallowed by the dog. If your dog has learned how to open the Velcro, please contact our warranty department by sending a photo of the damage to [email protected] They can have the replacement cover sent, and if you place that new cover directly over the old and stagger them so that the Velcro closures end up on opposite sides of the mattress, it will prevent your dog from accessing the fill through the closure again.

We have been long term sitting a 100 lb lab that is a serious chewer. every other bed he has been left alone with has the corners chewed off, and they are all edged in duct tape. we have had this one 2 weeks, and he has been alone with it for extended periods of time with no chewing. it is easy to wash, and comes clean easy. The fabric is very crisp and can be a bit noisy when dogs lie down on it, but that is a small price to pay for not replacing beds every 2 weeks....

Brooks, our 4 month old, 24 pound Pit Bull mix puppy, was tearing up his crate beds. I was concerned that he would choke on the stuffing. So lucky for me I found K9 Ballistics in my search. After about a 10 min online chat, I discovered that this bed would work best in our current crate, and would also be great for when we travel and just want to bring his bed. At first he was a little suspicious, and now he loves it! I love that the cover is so durable and easy to wash, and I love how comfortable the actual mattress is. Brooks lays in his crates for his naps now- thank you K9 Ballistics! We are already eyeing another bed for the bedroom!

    Overall Quality
I have 4 dogs raging from 14 months to 14 years. The 14 month old totally destroyed the box the bed came in, but just isn't interested in chewing the TUFF bed like he has other beds. (I still find fluff) That said, my 14 year old who doesn't get around as well as she used to, pretty much loves sinking down in the middle to rest her weary bones. I haven't had to test the durability of the bed, but the fact my old girl finds comfort in it makes this bed worth it.
  • Excellent Bed! Review by Rachel (Posted on 5/3/2016)
    Overall Quality
I am very pleased with the overall quality of the bed! The material is awesome for repelling water and dirt, plus my girl's digging and dragging it around. The embroidery is also the perfect touch to really personalize it. I also really like that there aren't any metal zippers to break or scratch my girl. I recommend this product to anyone who's dog is past the puppy teething stage (my girl is 4 years old, siberian husky). I could see those sharp puppy teeth ripping through this material like butter! Ripstop nylon, once it starts fraying/unraveling…. it's done. This bed will last a lifetime, but wait until your puppy has adult teeth and is past the teething stage! I see a lot of negative reviews on here saying my puppy ripped through the bed in the matter of seconds. Well, that's because their teeth are like razors and nothing can really prevent that except knowing when they can have nicer things! Just my 2 cents. Keep up the good work k9ballistics :D

  • NOT CHEW PROOF Review by Matt (Posted on 4/29/2016)
    Overall Quality
I am very disappointed in the product. It is not chew proof, it is not even close to being chew proof. My dog, who chews nothing else except the corners of her bed, was able to chew through this cover with very little effort and in very little time. To be completely honest, the chew proof cover is no better than any other bed cover but its costs a lot more. I will say their customer service effort was good, once I finally spoke to someone that understood my concerns. They sent me additional covers to try to fix the problem but that didn’t make it any more chew proof. The 90 day guarantee doesn’t make much sense. If the dog can chew through the cover, replacing it with another one isn’t going to change the outcome. We did settle on a 50% refund but that, too, isn’t sufficient. This was an expensive experiment. I learned my lesson, there is no such thing as a chew proof bed or bed cover. Don’t believe the positive reviews. If your dog chews their bed, this product isn’t going to correct that behavior.

K9 Ballistics Response: Please note that there is nothing out there that is truly "chew proof", but these are the most chew proof beds you'll find on the market. Our cushioned beds like the original TUFF bed are rated a 4 out of 5 in terms of durability and are best for light or moderate chewers. For heavier chewers, the only bed you'll want to go with is the Cujo Cot Raised Aluminum Bed, our strongest bed!
  • We LOVE it! Review by Raul (Posted on 4/29/2016)
    Overall Quality
Well, let me tell you! Gus, our 2 year old bulldog has finally met his match. The bed is suprisingly still in one piece, but believe me, as soon as he flipped it over and found the seam; he immediately began biting at it and scratching at it, but soon gave up. He does get the urge to flip it over and try again at times when he gets what I cal the "rage". He just gets this uncontrollable burst of energy that makes him want to play ruff, and gets in a search and destroy mode. When he gets this way, I always say it's time to "cage the rage", and uusually ends up in his kennel or outside until he calms down.

This bed is the best, and even though at first, I was not sure if he liked it because of how slick and fluffy it is, but he soon adjusted, and we throw his blanket on it to give it some softeness. He seems to really enjoy it now. I do keep wondering when he is going to find a weak point, and start working at it until he conquers it, and rips a hole in it. But for now, I think this was THE BED for Gus. I am very impressed. It was well worth the money!

If this bed stays together for 90 days, it has definitely held up to the test, because I can tell you this bulldog has detroyed 5 or 6 already within a few days, sometimes the very same day we buy him a new one. Gus likes to destroy anything he can get his teeth on, but finally met his match with the K9 Ballistics Bed.

I have a 60lb 6 month old GSD who isn't a huge chewer, but finds it amusing to destroy any type of bed I buy for him. I hesitantly bought this bed and it is slowly winning him over. He didn't really have interest at first, and I think that's because it isn't very texturally appealing (maybe I should have gone with the velour). The bed cover seems super durable which I'm really happy about, but it is also VERY noisy. My pup sleeps on the floor next to my bed and if he happens to shift or scratch throughout the night it sounds like someone is wrestling with a giant potato chip bag. I really can't say anything negative about the bed itself though, because there have been nights when I have been tempted to sleep on it. It's huge and comfortable and I love supporting a company that has customer service as good as theirs.

My 18 month old, 115 lb Great Dane chews up everything!
So I was super excited to receive her new pillow the very next day after ordering.
After two days she warmed up to it and sleeps on it all day.
However, one day she managed to turn it upside down and quite easily open up the Velcro. Once in, she made easy work of the inner pillow.
Imagine my dismay to find bright green pillow innards strewn all around her front porch and inside her house!
After re-stuffing the pillow like Dorothy re-stuffing the Scarecrow, she had her bed back. However, the Velcro has lost much of its acherent properties due to the green stuffing that is stuck to it.
Perhaps a zipper would be better suited for crafty dogs such as Danes and German Shepherds.
Other than that, so far so good.

K9 Ballistics Response: If you send an email with a photo of the damage done to [email protected], we can have your warranty replacement cover sent out. Double covering the bed and arranging the covers so that the Velcro is on opposite sides of the mattress will prevent this from happening again. We do not use zippers on the original TUFF bed due to the potential choking hazard they present.

My power chewing lab, Butkus, has managed to chew a corner of the cover off at this time - one week into ownership. He doesn't seem too interested in chewing any further, so that is good. Reserving final judgement for a while. Beckett, my timid female lab/mountain cur mix is a little intimidated by the noise the mattress makes and sleeps off to the side. She is gradually edging herself onto the mattress more and more. She is a tough sell on anything new. She still has her original blanket in the crate with her.

We have been through many beds having both an English Bulldog and Lab. Both can be somewhat chewy when the mood strikes. We bought one about a year ago and the lab loved it but slowly the bulldog took over it, so we decided to buy another. They have both attempted to chew on it but have not been able to do any damage. We love the beds. Very durable and easy to clean.

  • Too Puffy Review by Holly (Posted on 4/13/2016)
    Overall Quality
The bed is here and looks great. The problem is my 65 lb Golden is not very eager to get on it as it blows up with air and is very very puffy. I lay on it to try to get the air out and encourage her to get on it but before too long it puffs up again. Any suggestions?

K9 Ballistics Response: The original mattress has been overstuffed to prevent flattening over time, but this can cause it to draw in air. Opening the Velcro at the bottom of the bed will allow air to escape the densely woven cover, but the bed should not be left unsupervised with the dog while the Velcro is open. The puffiness will reduce over time as the bed is broken in. For a more permanent solution, you can make a small incision in the mattress and remove some stuffing to reduce the amount of air-drawing fluff, and add it back later as the stuffing settles. If you are still experiencing the issue, please don't hesitate to contact us at [email protected]

My dog has had her new bed for about a week or two now. So far so good. It did take her a day or two to get used to it and realize it was for her to sleep on. The material and air-mattress type feel kind of threw her off, but now we find her snuggled up on it all the time.

Like most dogs I assume, she has to take several steps on it and walk around in circles before she lays down, and it withstands her claws and walking on it no problem. She did try using it as a chew toy one day, but really hasn't since. I think along with being tough to withstand the chewing, the material and thickness of the bed probably discourages them from chewing in the first place. I only gave it 4 stars because it is very pricey, but I'll come back and update in a few months. If it really has withheld the test of time, I will gladly give it 5 stars, and gladly pay the money for one good bed, instead of constantly buying cheaper beds.

Our pup took to the bed immediately, unfortunately after a couple of days he did manage to rip it apart like the other beds we have tried. Requested a replacement under the warranty and received it in seven days with no questions or problems. A good company that honors their warranty, with excellent product support. We have learned to remove the bed when leaving him home alone at least until he gets a little older.

I have 2 puppies that chew through EVERYTHING! i have spent hundred of dollars on beds for them until now. My pups are crazy chewers and were actually able to open the velcro rather than chew through the cover. I contacted K9 Ballistics and they sent me out a new cover to wrap around the old one. once they opened the velcro again and saw another cover underneath, they gave up and haven't tried since. This company has great customer service and I am very happy with my bed1

Im sure its a great bed. But it is too high. My dog did not like it. He tried to get on it and it was like trying to walk on a water bed. Very unstabled footing. Wont lay on it. Tried to return it but no returns if opened. Im disappointed and out $125. Thats a lot of money but a valuable lesson. How would i know if my dog likes it if I didnt open it. Buyer beware!!!!!!

Our young boxers ripped apart 2 other dog beds in 3 days. They have not damaged this bed at all. The only negative thing I can say is that the material is not warm & fuzzy. So maybe that is why they haven't ripped it to shreds yet. I will buy another.

Not sure why it took my Buddy a while to get on the bed but once coerced, he's just fine jumping on the bed and sleeping there too. I usually add a little blanket which seems to make him a little happier. He doesn't want to move the bed (which, it may be a little too big or heavy for him) but he also hasn't chewed it up either. I'm thankful to find a bed that works as a bed for my Shihtzu. Thank you!

The only reason I gave this bed four stars and not 5 is for only one reason. This is our second bed and it is great and my dog absolutely loves sleeping in it. But the inside bedding tends to shed and leave a mess every time I go to wash the outside. I bought a new one thinking maybe because the bed was getting old but I noticed the shed with the new one too as soon as I removed it from the box. its not as bad because it is new.but with time it gets worse.the only way I can explain the look of the shed is like dander from a dog. Flaky puffs of Cotten I guess it is.if they could only make the cushioning inside flake free. Bed would be 5 stars .

K9 Ballistics Response: The inner mattress stuffing should not be shedding. If possible, could you please send a photo of the issue to [email protected] so that we can assess the problem?

it didnt take buster my dog to drag this big bed through a 1 ft door , rip open the velcro seam and scatter all the stuffing everywhere. i should have named him beaver . he is a pit bull. there are some holes in the cover , but hey he is a dog that loves to chew everything in sight. i dont want another bed. he has done this three different times. i now have a prison cell for his bed so that he cant turn it upsidedown. i would however recommed using a zipper for velcro replacement. im sure he will in time get used it being what it is a bed for my dog.

K9 Ballistics Response: We've removed the zippers from these beds to prevent any emergency vet visits, as zippers can be very dangerous if swallowed. If your dog is accessing the bed through the Velcro, we recommend double covering the mattress in both the old and replacement covers and staggering the two (inside cover faces up, outer cover faces down) so that the Velcro closures end up on opposite sides of the bed. This will ensure that the dog cannot access the bed by opening the Velcro again.

This bed was way better than I expected! My dog chews EVERYTHING he can sink his teeth in and he tried with this bed and failed. The quality of this bed is beyond compare to anything out there. It did take a while for him to get used to the bed though and as suggested in a previous review, I put treats and his favorites toys on it and now he's on it all the time.

I highly recommend this bed if you have a dog who chews/destroys other beds.

We have a 65 lb - 4 yr old Golden Retriever. He has chewed his previous two beds so this seemed like a good option. We bought the Original Tuff Bed in a large size in Black. This bed is VERY puffy and has not settled down yet. Consequently, it is hard for my Golden to get on and stay on. We have tried opening the Velcro on the underside and pushing out the air - but it just comes right back. Because of the puffiness and the slick fabric, my Golden literally slides off. Also, we move his bed at night to be next to our bedside - and when he moves around (to keep from sliding off) it makes a lot of noise - again, because of the slick fabric. He has not tried to chew it at all - so that is the good part - but overall, I'm a bit disappointed in how this functions.....

I would love to find out how great our new dog bed is, but our dog won't even lay on it. The great part about the bed is he shows no interest in tearing it up either. He tears everything up. • Not a bad bed Review by Charles (Posted on 3/25/2016)
    Overall Quality
The bed itself is a nice bed. The actual mattress is excellent as it conforms to my dogs body and once she gets up it goes back to it's original shape. The cover kind of had her freaked out to begin with but she did sleep on it the first night. The morning after her second night with the bed we woke up to her having chewed a hole in the corner of the bed. So much for chew proof. K9 Ballistics treated us fair. We sent them pictures of the damage, and they gave us a partial refund, and we got to keep the bed. After sewing up the damaged hole, I went to the pet store and bought some 'sour green apple' dog spray that is suppose to keep dogs from chewing. I "soaked" the beds cover (not spray but soaked) and let it dry. Put the bed back in the cover, and my dog has been sleeping on it for 4 days and hasn't chewed on it yet (so far). So it is a very nice bed, but soak the cover in 'anti-chew' liquid first before giving it to your dog. It just may last longer.

  • Howitzer-proof Review by Erik (Posted on 3/18/2016)
    Overall Quality
My buddy Howie... a.k.a. "the Howitzer"... has been pretty tough on his beds. He's a 90 lb. high energy lapdog, half Munsterlander & half Leonberger, so I imagine that he's 100% Munsterberger. Regardless of genealogy, he loves to jump, play, dig, and chew, and posesses the size to do significant damage.
About a week after he had been using the new bed, I forgot to remove it from the kennel before I went to work. Of course he tried to drag it outside through his double dog door, where it got stuck... No rips, no tears. I'm highly impressed by the construction, and by the quality materials.
    Definitely recommended.

We adopted a loveable and playful 9 month-old lab/pit mix ("Boomer") in December 2015 and he took no time at all in systematically destroying the four dog beds (of various types/brands) we had for our other dogs. I was skeptical, but when I read all the positive reviews of the original Tuff bed, I thought I'd take a chance and purchase one to see how it held up. At first ALL the dogs seemed to not like the fabric of the cover and for the first 4 nights, none of my dogs would sleep on it. Then one of them snuggled in and now it's the most popular spot for a doggy snooze. I saw Boomer try to chew through one corner unsuccessfully and he hasn't tried since. We do have the Tuff bed in our bedroom at night and the fabric makes a little bit of a rustling noise when the dogs are getting on and off of it. But it's not bad; we've gotten used to it and run a fan in our room at night so you don't hear the rustling at all.

I have a 10 month old Beagle mix who has managed to completely destroy every bed/blanket/toy we have given him. I must have spent over $100 trying different beds, always thinking well if he destroys this it's only $20 or so but that all added up quickly. Over the few months we have had him he has destroyed every bed, shredded every blanket and massacred every toy! There is no "NO Chew spray" that works with this boy! So we decided to give this bed a try - this was Coopers last chance at having a comfy bed to sleep on! The day the bed arrived I opened it, put the cover on and put it on the floor. Immediately Cooper started chewing at the corners and carrying it around the house - so I reluctantly checked the new bed for damage and guess what??? NOT ONE HOLE! I think he has given up even trying to chew on it! Thank you for this great bed - and Cooper thanks you too!
  • Excellent Product Review by Emma's mom (Posted on 2/29/2016)

Emma and I LOVE this bed. I read through all the reviews as Emma is a rescued German Shepherd 1 year old girl that has major anxiety. Her original owners chained her up outside in January and drove away. She was 56 lbs when we adopted her from a wonderful rescue. She was also heartworm positive. She has chewed all her other beds and I needed one that I could put in her crate to keep her comfortable during her treatment. This bed is fantastic. Now I will admit that she chewed a hole in the corner because she was aggravated. However, I put a spot of hot sauce on the hole and she hasn't chewed the bed since. She is a quick learner! They are sending a new cover per the guarantee. Great service and communication. They advised of others that tried different techniques that worked. Bitter apple spray and a cayenne pepper spray that has been diluted. If your dog is anxious and a serious chewer, BUY THIS BED and use a spray as a deterrent. The bed nearly swallows her and she loves how cushy it is. I am thrilled with her progress and her anxiety is slowly fading. I am a proud rescuer and I love this company!

I have only had the bed for a week and so far, so good! My very destructive doberman puppy hasn't made a dent in it. That said, here is a suggestion ... I took the cover off to wash it and the puppy in seconds (and yes I thought I was watching him!), chewed a hole in the inside liner. I sewed it shut, so it's not a big deal, but it would be great if the inside liner was a bit sturdier and waterproof. Or, had an additional waterproof liner. Otherwise, this is perfect!

The bed is chew proof as you say. The dogs love it once they get onto the bed. The only problem is the bed fills up with air when the dogs are not on it and when they try to lie on the bed, it is like they are stepping onto a balloon which deflates very slowly once they are lying down. They are getting used to it, but they do not have secure footing getting onto the bed.

With my dog I went through a lot of beds, which got pretty expensive! During a desperate search for bed I came across K-9 Ballistics and because of their promising to replace if dog was able to destroy they bed or chew through it, convinced me to try it and I'm extremely happy I did. Had the bed 3 yrs now and it still like new! If you have the same problem with your dog, this bed is for you!! Thank you K-9 Ballistics! I'm ordering your TUFF ortho. bed crate today.

I gave my Dobermann ,Anne, time to get used to both before actually using them. She liked them from the first introduction. She has used her crate with the pad for several hours with no attempt to chew.

Anne loves her bed. She has not even tried to chew the corners, a constant problem with previous beds, and she settles down fast at night. She does not move unless she has to go out in the early morning, or I wake her. The bed and crate pad were worth every penny.

Our Wheaton mix was tearing beds up left and right, days after we bought something new for our little guy, we'd come home to a stuffing filled hallway. He hasn't even attempted to chew it!
I was nervous our little Yorkie mix would be scared of the noise, as most reviews stated the material is a little off putting at first but that wasn't an issue either. As soon as we put it down, Clyde was on!
Such great design and quality- it is worth the expense!

My puppy has and did chew through the dog bed that her and her 14 year old fur brother were sharing. I was at my wits end with her. So I decided to give K9 ballistics a try. The first night I put it down for them, she attempted to dig in and tried pulling at the bed. Not even a blip of a tear and let me tell you she was trying. I highly recommend these beds. The color is beautiful and the quality of the materials is evident right out of the box. The waterproof, tear proof, anti smells and stains is a huge plus. Anyone who has a puppy knows how important those qualities are to have for a bed.

We got the bed embroidered and it came out great! Our dog had ripped or chewed through all the beds we bought in the past within a few days of getting them. We have had our TUFF bed for 2 weeks now and it is still in perfect condition. The ONLY problem is our dog does not lay on it like he did with the other beds. I am not sure why he doesn't like it. He does throw it around like a toy and now seems to pull it over the items he "steals" from around the house to hide them from sight. I gave it 5 stars because it has survived for this long and that is impressive!

Thanks for following up on the new bed I recently purchased for Charlie. There are two dogs in our house, Sara, still a puppy at 2 years, and Charlie. Charlie never chewed his bed, but Sara has chewed every filled bed I’ve tried. She sleeps on microfiber blankets, which she does not chew. She destroyed two of Charlie’s beds, so the “chew proof” bed I sought was for him. He loves it, and given the chance, Sara has used it too. I haven’t seen her try to chew it. so I can’t testify whether the bed is “Sara proof,” but I’m impressed with the material and construction of the bed, so much so, that I’ve ordered another just for Sara! I’ll keep you posted,

I have 2 miniature schnauzer pups about 8 months old. They have torn up 3 beds so far. This one is good so far. I would really like to see them custom made. I bought the one that I thought would fit best in their crate that they go in when I am gone. Leaves some gaps that I fill in with a few blanket throws.
  • Product as advertised! Review by Corey (Posted on 1/30/2016)

Our Great Dane puppy suffers some fairly intense separation anxiety and destroyed $300 in bedding the week of Christmas when we attended family functions and had to crate him for about 3 hours in two separate occasions. This led to the search that led to k9 ballistics. The anxiety is obviously still a concern we are working on, but the bed is showing zero sign of abuse to the cover. I can't say the same for the mattress padding, it bunches, clumps and is very irregular. This is the only reason I took off a star. I will play around with padding as the cover was my biggest concern. I would recommend this to anyone who has a destructive dog. Oh, the noise issue. We put a blanket over the bed at night and it muffles any sound issues.

  • Too puffy Review by Eduardo (Posted on 1/28/2016)
    Overall Quality
I have a 90 lb rottie and she will not go on the bed because it is too thick. I (220 lbs) have tried to stand on to flatten it, but to no avail.

It is between 9 and 11 inches thick throughout which makes it very difficult to walk on and it is nearly airtight. Feels like walking on a partially inflated air mattress.

Camo color looks great, material seems strong, but it is useless since it is so uncomfortable.

We have a very sweet, very strong 65 lb. rescue pitbull mix who loves to chew and destroy anything he can get his paws on. Charlie has been through so many dog beds in the past, I've lost count. When we weren't looking, Charlie would chew his toys on our furniture and inevitably (accidentally) chew holes in the couch in the process. Since we bought the Tuff bed a year ago, he has been chewing his toys to his heart's content on the bed instead of our couch and the bed's fabric is still just as intact as ever. Because there are no weak points, I don't think Charlie has even really tried to chew this bed, either. Also, the bed is really easy to wash.
  • Love it! Review by Angela (Posted on 1/21/2016)

This dog bed holds up incredibly well. I have two year old mastiff who views dog beds more as chew toys than places to sleep and has destroyed quite a few. She has definitely tried to destroy this one in the week or so we have had it and hasn't had any luck! It's definitely in the middle of the yard when I get home with wetness in the corners, which is not where I left it, but hasn't torn at all. I am very happy with the quality of the dog bed though the dogs seem to prefer the couch to the bed (hoping they get over that soon).

Also this company is great! I ordered two before Christmas and fed ex lost the package and they gave me two new ones no questions asked. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for a good quality product and amazing customer service

Have had the bed a week and no signs of wear which is a great start! The Velcro on the bottom is VERY strong and the material itself is quite resilient to her chewing. She likes the bed too, which is a plus. Hoping it lasts longer than the last three beds! So far, so good.

My Rottie is not a chewer. But she's kinda sloppy with water, and if she finds a stick in the backyard, she'll bring it in and destroy it. This is the best quality dog bed I've ever used. The only downside is that if your dog moves around at night, you might here it. I just threw a blanket across it. Two thumbs up !!!

We have two out-door rescue dogs, one about ninety pounds and the other seventy. They have been sleeping in the garage on a K-9 TUFF bed for about two years now, and it is just as good now as it was when we bought it, only a little (well, a lot) dirtier. They destroyed all other bedding that we tried before it. We had just about given up on finding a bed they would not destroy until we got the TUFF bed. All the other beds wound up in pieces, chewed up, in the yard. Not this one!

Every bed I have bought our 2 pitbull mix girls over the last 3 years has been destroyed within days of purchase. I highly recommend it!
  • Quite pleased Review by Judith (Posted on 1/17/2016)

We are at about day 60 & this bed has delivered. Our small coonhound is an EXTREME chewer who destroys made-for-pitbulls chew-toys and who absolutely demolished previous beds into tiny pieces of fabric and stuffing. She managed to put 3 tiny tears in the cover of this TUFF bed during week 2, but she wasn't be able to make them progress beyond tiny, so the bed is hanging tough at week 8+. If you have an extreme chewer, I would say don't get any embroidery because 2 of Gracie's 3 tiny holes were around her name. A couple of notes: the material is a little noisy, so if that's an issue, perhaps look at the TUFF Velvet bed. Also, this original TUFF bed kind of scared our dog at first, because it's kind of like an air mattress: when you weigh down one part, the other part puffs up. But she got used to that aspect after a couple of days. We (and the dog) are pleased with the Original TUFF Bed and just ordered a crate pad today.

I bought this for my daughter's 90-pound Black Lab/Great Dane mix. He was freaked out because my daughter had just moved so everything was a little strange. But she wanted to keep him off the brand new couch so I thought a nice bed would solve the problem. It did until the third day when he destroyed the $50 bed I bought for him. The TUFF Bed seems to be working out well. It took him a little time to get used to the feel of it so she put a blanket over it. Now he sleeps on it all the time and so far, no damage. It was expensive but if it holds up, it's worth it.

It took a while for both pets to even get on the bed (noisy and little stiff--less soft than what they are used to), but once they figured it out, I think I can see 8 paws up! Clover, our nester, and Beemer, our big boy, seem to enjoy their new beds. We're hoping this will be the last dog beds we'll buy! I'll try to give a review in 6 months.

Our pup has destroyed every other bed we've gotten her, but so far this one has not seen a chew, rip, tear, or any damage. Very happy from that standpoint.
She's never been one for laying or napping on her own bed and that's been the same with this bed. She hasn't shown great interest in it, but we're training her that it's a safe place for her to go, so hopefully over time she'll learn to like it. I'm looking forward to taking it to places outside of our home and seeing how she reacts.

I have a young puppy who had destroyed 4 different beds. I got tired of coming home to find the yard full of stuffing from yet another bed. I thought I would try the K-9 bed and I could not be happier. When I first received the bed, I too thought it was pretty stiff and uncomfortable but both my dogs LOVED it. My puppy tried chewing it the first day and gave up. Here we are a few months later and the bed is in excellent condition. It is truly durable and everything it is advertised to be. I would HIGHLY recommend this to all pet owners.

We purchased the bed for our pup dog "Boxer" Kona....Because the cover is so heavy duty (good thing!) it works best to ensure as much air is out of the bed as possible for those sensitive pups. Our dogs sleep in our laundry room at night and even during the day when they are tired I will find them snuggled up in their beds snoozing away. Great product and excellent customer service!!!

My German Shepherd puppy (now 1 year old) has basically cost me well over $1,000 in various beds that I have purchased (he would chew his bed to pieces and my other German Shepherd's bed). Most of the time he chewed through the toughest bed in one day. I got two Original Tuff Beds a few weeks ago and the first few days he moved them around a bit but did not tear them at all. Now he does not even move the beds and just lays in the bed. Great bed and I highly recommend this bed to anyone. Let me add this dog only chewed beds (nothing else) for whatever reason and is the son of the current World Champion and I purchased him fully-trained so obviously only a problem with beds and what a problem until I got this bed.

My male Australian Shepherd chewed brough his in less than 10 minutes. His full sister, chewed on hers too but not nearly as intent on destroying it. Hers is holding up well after 2 1/2 weeks with no holes, his is unusable after 10 minutes. That being said, customer service is outstanding, and honored their guarantee. They offered me a new cover free of charge, or a 50% discount, and I could keep the chewed up bed. I opted for the refund since a new cover would only be destroyed as well. I stitched up the holes and will use it for my female as a spare. Keep in mind- you don't get a lifetime supply of free covered- you get ONE free replacement. If you opt for the free cover, you do not get another free one of that one gets chewed and you are no longer eligible for 50% of your money back. Keep that in mind if you need to take them up on the 90 day guarantee. Overall, the bed is of excellent quality, not easily chewed (I'm just "lucky" enough to own a dog who will kill any bed,) and customer service is top notch. I did find another chew proof bed that my male has been unable to destroy- for the first time in their lives (they are now 6,) my babies can have warm beds. This makes me so happy.

My dog chewed through the outer casing and when I got home after the first day, the stuffing was everywhere in his crate. I emailed customer service and they mailed me another one. They told me that if I sprayed it with bitter apple, my dog might not do it again. It worked and he loves his bed. At the pet store I was told that for the bitter apple to work, first you have to spray it into the dogs mouth so he has a bad association with the smell. Anyway, very pleased with this company.

Our young dogs had demolished almost every bed we had given them. With the "Chew Proof Guarantee", I figured we should take a chance on the Tuff Bed. My hound mix mouthed it a couple of times and then decided not to chew it up. Hurray! The bed is large and comfortable. We had three medium- to large-sized dogs sharing it one cool night, but all of them love to pose on it on by themselves. I can recommend this bed highly for determined chewers.

This is the second set of K9 beds I've purchased for my two dogs. They love the beds, but their old set (purchased about two years ago) was starting to look a little ragged. The new beds will stay in the house, and we'll use the older ones in the shop. Lily, a German wirehair, is brutal when it comes to chew toys, beds, etc. She eventually poked a couple holes in the cover of her bed, but it took over a year. I got both of the beds in black this time so the wet dog stains don't show. Great beds!

The bed is by far, tough and durable. My doggie is sneaky and was able to get past the Velcro opening, even with the opening face-side down. I'm a believer of the K9 Ballistic beds. My greyhound paws through any other bed. I recently bought my second Tuff bed. I put an electric heating pad inside the cover so my guy can stay warm at night.

I got this bed for my granddog for Christmas. My son has a 6 month old english bull dog and Lola tears up everything. So far she has not torn this one up but she doesn't really like it - in my opinion it's a little stiff and that makes it not as comfortable as her previous beds. I purchased two Tuff Beds. One of our dogs got through the velco portion of one of the beds within a month (tearing out the inner padding but not destroying the cover). K9 Ballistics sent me two covers and a new pad for the one destroyed, that way both beds would be double covered and repaired completely. K9 Ballistics's didn't have to do this but they did it anyway. Nothing is indestructible but their warranty is EXCELLENT. Would purchase replacement beds in the future from this company.

The bed held up pretty well to being dug at and tossed around. Once my golden set out to chew on it the cover didn't last 5 minutes. Most likely will have to wait to give it back to him until he's older and doesn't like the taste.

The bed is nice but my 8 month old had 3 holes in this bed within 2 days. And it's not just a hole in the cover, he got all the way through to the green stuffing.
BEWARE: Read the fine print... They do not replace the bed as part of their guarantee. They will simply send you a new cover... one time.
Wish I had seen that before I ordered the XXL $200 bed... I only get a replacement cover under their guarantee. Not too happy about that for the amount of money I spent.

Took a day or two for my Rotti mutt and Blue Heeler to accept their new bed. But then we heard this sound, and when we looked they were spooning happily on the bed together. Now they take turns on the bed and absolutely love it! I love that it's durable and easy to clean. I also love that it's foam is really plush because my old guy is 14 and he needed a bed that wouldn't flatten out into a pancake after a few days. Thanks, would totally recommend. When we recently adopted a pit/lab puppy we didn't know he would plow through and destroy all 3 dog beds we had for years that had endured our other two dogs. I purchased two of these beds after reading the reviews and their guarantee. While our pup did manage to rip through the beds it was nominal damage compared to other beds that ended up strewn about the yard in pieces. K9 as promised sent replacement covers after emailing pictures. The replacement was painless and effortlessly. After 2 months beds are still intact, pup still likes pulling them out of the dog houses hope. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend and/or purchase another.

This didn't even last 1 day with my 1.5 year old lab/pit mix... he has opened/ripped the 'tough' velcro strip, removed the inner bed portion, and destroyed the inner lining. Very disappointed with this product and would not recommend for others in the future.
  • Quality bed Review by Valerie (Posted on 12/12/2015)

I just received the TUFF bed. I have two nervous chewers and when I leave the house I would come back to bed pieces all over the room. Neither one has gone after this bed. The fabric is a little noisy so I plan to put a sheet over it to lessen the sound. I'm sure they'll chew the sheet but not the bed. I'll probably order another one after their old bed is completely destroyed.

I bought 3 beds for 3 dogs. In less than 24 hrs of receiving the beds, my 8 month old Lab had chewed a hole in the cover. I put that one up. 2 days later he chewed through the cove of another one and tore the stuffing out. Now they can only take turns using the remaining good one when we are present. Just received a warranty cover for the first one. Can't tell what K-9 is going to do for the destroyed 2nd one yet. Don't need another cover. Nice beds but sure not chew proof. $$$

    Overall Quality
Have a boxer who likes to destroy beds while I'm away. Haven't had an issue lately as we have been doing exercising in the morning. The bed was actually purchased for his 7 year old boxer sister. I did put a blanket on the bed as it was kind of loud as she would get comfortable. Last night he did try and get carried away with the bed and took the blanket off of it and moved it about a foot. He also had one small Christmas present in the middle of the room but didn't chew it up or unwrap it, thank goodness! Does the 90 day guarantee cover presents? :) We will keep using our 90 day guarantee as I just have an inkling that he will get an ornery streak and try to really figure out how to get into the bed! Lets hope not and hope this is my last bed stop! If all goes well, we will be purchasing another.

The first one of these beds I bought didn't last a day before my adolescent pits decided to eat it. The bed lasted 3 years although it did have multiple gaffers tape repairs. Although Clancy was not happy with the slippery material of the bed and the noise it makes as he tries to find his place...I placed an old flannel sheet over the bed and now he loves it. I was afraid that he would just pull the sheet off and start chewing the sheet or the bed and he hasn't done either! I am going to take the sheet off today to wash and see how it goes. I have the bed in his crate and all I say is "crate" and he happily goes in. He had chews 3 other very good and expensive beds! So this is a Happy Day! We have had this bed now for at least 2 weeks. I would highly recommend it. PS ..Clancy is a Pit Bull and loves to chew..best bed!

  • Best so far Review by Charles C. (Posted on 11/23/2015)
    Overall Quality
This bed has lasted the longest so far! Our English Bulldog is a destroyer of beds - they usually don't last more than a couple of weeks before there's stuffing flying all over. So far it's been 3 weeks and there's just a frayed hole in one corner that looks like he has lost interest in. No stuffing so far! The bed does make considerable more noise than his previous beds so we can't have it in the bed room when we are trying to sleep. We will get a replacement cover - but this bed is by far the toughest we've come across yet (even beats Kong beds).

My three dogs love to cuddle on the large bed, and so far, so good... No one has chewed the bed! Usually the Westie snacks on the corners until she can get at the insides, and I have not been able to let them have a soft bed in a long time. I had a dog cot, but she dug at the cot until she could make a hole to gnaw. With the Tuff Bed, Frankie has left it alone, and they all love the soft comfy bed. It looks really nice, too, I got marine stripe blue. Great product!

My dog has chewed and dismembered all previous beds within a week, rendering them totally useless, and littering my house with the stuffing in the process. That is why I purchased this bed. She ignored this bed the first day. The second day she chewed a bone on the bed but slept in a chair. The third day she slept on the bed and has been sleeping on it ever since. She doesn't even try to chew the bed, not sure why, but I am delighted! Thank you for an excellent product. My dog is a 4 year old Puggle.

Our bed is still in one piece but he has figured out how to flip it and open the Velcro. We catch him soon after and he knows he done bad. He has not had enough time to to make any major holes in the inside bed.

K9 RESPONSE - Hi Laurie, please send us a message to [email protected] We can send out the warranty replacement cover, which you can use to "double bag" the bed. If you stagger the Velcro so that the inside Velcro faces up, and the outside Velcro faces down, then your dog won't be able to find the inner fill. :)

As far as tough goes this is one of the toughest beds I have ever seen and put togeather very well. Easy to clean as well. Overall Quality
I bought my first original tuff bed because of my 2 new born AKC Shepherds then about 7 or 8 months old Here in the desert hot nights, I leave my bedroom door open to the patio and the male dragged the bed out side and spent all night on the lawn ripping it and shredding it to pieces. He opened the Velcro enough to pull out the inner pillow. Al that was left was the shredded pillow case and foam all over the lawn . You honored your guarantee, sent me a new one after I sent you the pictures. I rectified the problem of him getting the bed outside again, and I bought 2 more tuff beds. Now all is well, no problems what so ever. I am as happy as a flea on a dog.

Thanks for honoring your guarantee so quickly with no hasell whatsoever. That prompt courtsey to me as a customer, enabled you to sell me 2 other tuff beds.

We haven't had the bed too long, but no bed has lasted very long with 3 digging, chewing Dachshunds They don't seem to even look for a corner to chew on or a zipper to rip apart (no zipper, very heavy duty Velcro). The fabric isn't soft but a blanket over top will do.

We order this bag a couple years ago and within the first few weeks, our GSP had chewed through several areas. I contacted K9 BAllistics and they replaced the cover only (even though inside was ripped too) and the cover they sent was not the color I originally ordered---which was fine, if they replaced the whole bed but I lived with the green color. Within a month, our pup tore holes in this one too,but this time, since they did not replace the interior, there was stuffing everywhere :(

Our 30 pound Rat Terrier is a determined bed destroyer. So far, he hasn't been left alone with the bed so it may be premature to review. This bed is so attractive and I, and the dogs love it. Though it does hold up better than most of the beds I buy, I must say that before two weeks were up, our English Cocker had ripped 4 or 5 holes in it. However, he has not completely ripped it apart and has not been able to pull out any stuffings. K 9 has honored their warranty policy and is sending another cover. I am hoping that he gives up when he finds out how tough it is.
  • Strong but could use improvement Review by David (Posted on 8/26/2015)
    Overall Quality
The actual material of the dog bed is strong and doesn't puncture easily, but the way the bed cover seals in the support/stuffing is via velcro. My puppy quickly figured this out and has not only opened the bed & torn out some of the stuffing but he has chewed up the velcro & material so that the flap itself is easier to open. He just flips it over and chews it open when he's bored. This could be fixed by a pocketed/hidden zipper in my opinion.
  • Quality Dog Bed Review by Gene C. (Posted on 8/20/2015)
    Overall Quality
This bed is by far the best dog bed I ever purchased. The quality and material is 2nd to none. Its a tough thick nylon type material and the velcro is very heavy duty. The bedding inside is also of quality material. It is contained in an inner bag which makes it easy to wash. Dirt on the shell is easy to wipe off with a wet rag. My dog loves sleeping on this bed almost as much as she loves sleeping on mine!

  • My smart little Dobie Review by Angela (Posted on 8/11/2015)
    Overall Quality
I have the smartest and most determined Doberman puppy. She has religiously destroyed every bed I put before her. She has undone zippers, ripped open fabric, and dug inside a bed inside of a bed. She may have met her match with this one. I will admit that she did figure out how to turn the bed over, but the velcro is tough to maneuver. Plus, she cannot rip this cover or chew it open. For added security, I put the bed inside a cover and then put inside the tuff bed cover. After a few days of trying to figure it out, she appears to have given up. Definitely worth the money. Great product. Great company.

In 15 min. our chewer found a seam corner and held it in his teeth and pulled against the weight of his paws. A pinhead size frayed hole has appeared. I rotated the bed around to put the damaged corner against the wall and he hasn't done further damage. He is also a "digger" but hasn't been able to do any damage that way. He has not chosen to lie in his new bed very often or for very long, he may not like the bed for some reason, maybe the texture of the fabric or the very hot weather. So far, the results are not great but may get better.
  • Tough, but not enough Review by Jennifer (Posted on 7/31/2015)

I love this bed, and I think Peach, our Goldendoodle knew that. That's why she made an insurmountable effort the 4th night she was alone with her new bed to ensure that we knew she still had one-up on us! I discovered sadly that she had managed to chew a hole in the corner of the bed, and start disemboweling her indestructible sleeping companion. This is, however, the longest she has had a bed without turning it into a snowy nighmare, and for that I am grateful. I'm not sure there is another alternative that will offer her the comfort of a soft bed that she won't be able to bring to a sad, holy demise....we will place the new cover we get over the old one and pray that her jaw gets tired well before the cover does! Thank you, for an awesome product...I would highly recommend it to all my friends!

  • Extremely tough! Review by Jean (Posted on 7/21/2015)
    Overall Quality
My Cairn Terrier has shredded several beds by scratching and digging as typical terriers do. I decided to try K9 Ballistics Original TUFF bed with the original nesting mattress. She still "digs" like crazy and the sound has driven us crazy. In fact, I think she went a little crazy and her tendency toward OCD came out. She kept us awake nights and dug until she was panting and drooling until I got up and took the bed away from her. I replaced the mattress with a thick piece of foam, which solved the problem for the most part although she still tries to dig into the bed - which looks still as good as new.
Bottom line: if you share your home with a digger, especially if she has OCD, don't get the regular nesting mattress, which seems to encourage digging behavior. And it's LOUD!

K9 RESPONSE: Stay tuned for our new TUFF/LUX Dog Bed Covers! They're tough as nails, and soft as puppy fur. They combine the toughness of our TUFF Series with the soft microfiber of the LUX Series beds, which will make them quiet as a whisper.
  • So far so good Review by Tara M. (Posted on 7/21/2015)
    Overall Quality
We have a 9 month dobie and she's a consumate chewer. I've tried everything for her crate bed and nothing has held up until now. We've had the K9 Ballistic Original TUFF bed about 5 days and she hasn't even tried to chew it. I'm not sure if it is the fabric or the way the seams are constructed, or the fact that there's no zipper. Other "tough" beds had a zipper on the end and that was a huge pitfall - she hasn't found a zipper she can't open, then it's all over.
I really like that the opening is on the bottom of the bed - she can't flip it over in her crate. The velcro is tough too, but thankfully she hasn't discovered it yet.
I'm optimistic at this point. I wasn't sure if she'd like the bed at first because the fabric isn't soft and fuzzy, but she snuggles in the bed and seems to be very happy and comfortable. If she's happy and isn't destroying the bed, then we're happy too!
We also have a 13 week old dobie, so I think she has a K9 Ballistic bed in her future if she's anything like her sister!

  • Good so fa Review by Jerriann (Posted on 7/10/2015)
    Overall Quality
We have had the bed a couple weeks now. Our beagle lab mix 7 mos old puppy loves to chew. But the bed remains intact. Since she chewed up all her previous beds she has been sleeping on a pile of towels. So she seems to like this softer alternative! The only problem is that she quickly learned that it slides very easily over tile and wood floors so the bed spent a short time flying around the house. So can't use it as a nice place for her to rest in the family room --- have to keep it in the kennel. Would be nice to have some kind of rubbery material on the bottom to keep it in place. I ordered the size recommended for her weight but is bordering on too small. I suggest ordering one size up. Otherwise we are pleased with the bed and would recommend it for any dog.

We have both a lab and a cocker puppy. Believe it or not, the cocker chews more than the lab does. It has been two weeks and they have not chewed thru this bed. This bed is huge--I got the XXL bed because the two of them tend to lay in bed together and chew things. Make sure you measure before you buy. I plan to get a smaller one later.

Purchased this bed for my 7 month old Dobie. We have had recent problems with her chewing the zippers on her chew resistant bed covers. I saw this one when I first purchased her bedding but thought the price was high. I've spent at least this much on inferior beds that are now in the garbage. After one week of use this bed seems like it will be here for awhile. There's no zipper to chew, which is great. The only downside is that the bed is smaller than I was thinking. The dimensions are correct but the bed will bunch a little. If in doubt order a size up.

We purchased 2 Tuff beds in August of 2013 and until yesterday, both had survived our herd of 5 and over two dozen foster labs. They've been piddled on, humped, attacked by large jaws, and moved across the room by industrious dogs, left out in rain for days, but never gave up the will to survive. Yesterday, the least likely of suspects managed to chew a small hole in the top of one so now I'll be purchasing a replacement cover. I recommend k9 ballistics to every dog owner who asks about quality beds that will stand up to abuse.

My six mos. old chocolate lab destroyed several beds until I purchased the original TUFF bed. She can chew and swing this bed around for all she's worth but never damages the tough exterior. I love love love this and so does Willow! Well worth the money spent! I would recommend these beds to anyone that has a dog that loves to chew!

We'd gone through three beds with our French Bulldog puppy--and she was only 13 weeks. But we went looking and found the Tuff bed. It has been amazing! She scratches, bites, and digs but the bed stays together. My only mistake was getting it embroidered. It looked so cute but when she couldn't chew through the bed, she started pulling out her name.

But even that hasn't totally cone apart. In fact it's frayed but still looks pretty good. Our puppy sleeps through the night on this bed better than any before, so thank you K9Ballistics!
  • Not "TUFF" at all Review by DT (Posted on 6/29/2015)
    Overall Quality
The bed appears to be nice, and the stitching was well done. However, 'TUFF' it is not. My guy is not a power chewer (can't destroy a kong or most bones) but he is persistent. After leaving him in his bed area for literally 30 minutes, he had already torn a hole in the bed.

K9 Ballistics offered a replacement, but not a refund (50% of cost for 30 minutes ....). Sad to see all the hype and advertising for a product that fails so quickly. My suggestion is to just keep to cheap beds and replace as needed.

I laid this bed out for my hound and beagle. Within an hour, the beagle had chewed into the filling. She's a tough chewer and I had high hopes for this bed as she has destroyed four since she arrived in December. Bed is probably good for a mild chewer, but did not hold up to little Sally!!

Received on date estimated to arrive. Easy to set up. Darcy (Great Pyrenese) took to it quickly. Cover looks like it will hold up fine but, alas, the stitching used in Darcy's name is becoming a casualty already. In retrospect, could have saved $10.00 by not getting the name stitched!! Even so, we are very happy with the product so far. Time will tell.
  • My dachshund puppy chewed a hole in 5mins... Review by Andrea (Posted on 6/24/2015)
    Overall Quality
I was polite in my email when I said that my 8 month old dachshund puppy chewed through to the stuffing within 30 minutes of me unboxing the bed...really it took less than five. I was not impressed with quality, and you should read the fine print in the "chew proof" guarantee, they will only offer a one time replacement cover and then tell you to put it over the chewed cover or suggest things like soaking it in vinegar...so I wouldn't suggest buying it unless your dog doesn't chew at all...but I can say that they were very quick to resolve my questions and responded to my emails quickly. I will be getting a replacement cover for our chewed through bed and just hope that I didn't waste a hundred dollars when/if he chews through the replacement. So overall good customer service, but not advertisement did not hold.

My 2 yr old Brit has a tuff bed crate bed that has lasted for >18 mths without problem. It still looks great, easy to care for and NO tears. We now have a larger original Tuff Bed for the 2 yr and our new 5 mth old Brit. It's been in the big kennel for about a month with NO tears or problems.
Originally this product was very lumpy and I had to do some serious "smashing" to get it more even. But I really like both beds, and the dogs seem to as well.
Yes they are expensive, but seem to be indestructible. That's priceless.
Will be getting another large one, if the newest one shows the same longevity as the first one.

After much research, I settled on this bed and the similar crate pad for our new puppy. We do not pick her up until July, so although I cannot provide feedback on it's durability, I can say that it appears incredibly well made! I will update my review after we have a chance to "field" test it!

Con: took a bit to arrive--however, I think that is just because I've become spoiled with 2 day shipping from my usual Amazon Prime account.

I tried k9ballistics after having my puppy destroy his first bed and being worried that he would ingest the stuffing. I am beyond glad that I did!!! I ordered the original k9 tough bed and it has been perfect. Beyond the product, I had quick and satisfying response from the customer support via email when I had questions regarding my first bed. I will for sure be purchasing larger beds as my Whiskey grows. I will be recommending your products to many!! Thank you, thank you!!
  • Finally a soft indestructible bed! Review by Nancy (Posted on 6/12/2015)
    Overall Quality
Our Airedale Terrier has destroyed every bed we bought and was having to sleep on the bare floor of his crate. I wanted to get him a bed so bad and finally ran across the Cujo Cot. We ordered it and kept our fingers crossed. The cot fit perfectly in his kennel and he has really enjoyed it and has not been able to even damage let alone destroy it. He is now 18 months old and only stays in the kennel when we aren't home so we have bought soft bed after bed trying to find one to put in our bedroom for him to sleep on to no avail. He destroys each one within minutes. I bought a Kong bed, brought it home, he tore a foot long hole in it, and I returned it for a refund within a 3 hour period. We decided to purchase a Tuff Bed since we had such good results with the Cujo Cot. We were hoping since it was made from the same material as the cot that it might hold up. I was so afraid he would destroy it I actually video taped his first 3 minutes with it. I watched him bite it and try to rip it over and over. After the 3 minutes he simply laid down and rested. We have had his bed now for a week and I am excited to share with you that the bed still looks brand new! He still scratches it before laying down like all dogs and he has bitten it a few more times but it still looks wonderful! I couldn't be happier with my purchase!

I had bought the Original Tuff bed about 5 or 6 years ago after my German Shepherd destroyed every other bed, including one made by Kong. That Tuff bed has lasted all these years! From washing and just wear and tear with age, I decided to put that one outside and bought another one for inside. I have recommended this bed numerous times over the years.

I recieved the bed on a Friday and by the next Friday my English Pointer had chewed through one of the corners. I am in the process of shipping it back to get my free bed because it was within 90 days. I like the look of the bed but I would have perfered to save my money and just buy a cheap bed like I have been doing. Plus the medium bed looks large in the pictures but it was actually smaller than I expected. I am not sure it is worth it.

After putting the bed together, Billy Bob (one year old weimaraner) attacked it with a vengeance. He was shaking it with all his might but to his surprise nothing happened. It was still intact and remains so today. He enjoys laying on it and has not tried to rip it apart again. I highly recommend the bed. He had already destroyed two other beds. This is a keeper!

Honestly, my pit bull mix made tiny holes in both the TUFF bed and TUFF crate pad on the first day they arrived. But, he's an intense chewer and we kind of expected it to happen. He's still able to use both products though as the holes have not ripped further (which certainly wasn't the case with his other beds). I am still very impressed with the fabric quality, even though he'd managed to get through it. We monitored his use of the bed carefully after that first day and he hasn't put another hole in them since. I also followed the instructions to receive replacement beds (not sure if I'd even get a replacement because the holes were so small and the beds were still usable). I was pleasantly surprised to receive a confirmation email hours later letting me know my replacements had shipped. Now we have back-ups! Definitely worth the money for such a high quality product from a company that stands by their guarantee.

The first crate pad we bought our chocolate lab puppy quickly chewed/ripped many of the edges. K9 was very good about replacing the pad as their guarantee states. The second pad I sprayed all over (outside) with bitters before I put it in the crate. That was almost two weeks ago. The dog has NOT chewed the bed even once since. I would recommend spraying/misting all over with bitters before even putting it in the crate. Should help stop chewing completely.

My dog has chewed and eaten every bed I've given her. She's had surgery to remove foreign objects from her stomach and intestines, vomited up an array of inedible items, and torn up and swallowed a large portion of my couch. I felt terrible leaving her in a crate with no bed, but it's the only way to keep her safe when I'm not here. Now, with this Tuff Bed, she can sleep in a comfortable bed at night! I expect her to eventually chew a hole in it, but so far it's been a week, and all she's done to it is snuggle in it. When I leave during the day I still take the Tuff Bed out of her crate, but when she's tired at night the bed she seems to enjoy it too much to destroy it.

I have spent over $700.00 on dog beds that have been torn apart the first night by my pit bull puppy. I just received this bed and it is amazing! I hope I am not speaking too soon but he tries and tries but cannot penetrate the bed no matter what he tries. It is very comical to watch. Now just make an indestructible doggie door and I will be a very happy camper. I have gone through 7 of these in as many months.

We recently ordered one large Tuff Bed to test out its durability and to see if our dogs would like it. We have three 70+ lb. Weimaraners, and one of them has made it his business to tear apart every dog bed we've ever owned. However, this bed is holding up beautifully! We saw him dragging it across the floor a few times, but he hasn't tried to chew it (at least in front of us). The 3 dogs take turns lying on it, so it looks like we'll be buying two more to keep everybody happy. Sylvie, Max & Ruger seem to like how poufy it is!

We currently have six of these beds, and just ordered two more! Four at home, two in the RV and the next two are for the boat. These beds are the only ones have lasted our two German Shorthaired Pointers, now 15 months old. We originally bought our first two beds when the "boys" were 6 months old, double covered and they couldn't destroy them. They've since learned to love their beds. Wish we would have bought them from the beginning - but are so pleased with them!

Having gone through literally dozens of dog beds in the 2 years I've had my Boxer who suffers from separation anxiety, I was cautiously optimistic when order the Original TUFF Bed.

So far we are amazingly impressed! He's had his bed for the past month and no frays, no holes, nothing. He loves the "nest" effect that the interior filling provides him and just curls up time and time again with no so much as an attempt to rip it apart. Thanks for the great product!

We rescued a pit mix puppy and he promptly destroyed *everything* we put in his crate - starting with a fleece bed, followed by multiple towels and comforters, etc. I read about the TUFF bed after searching on "indestructible dog beds" and we're two weeks into success. He claws and chews but hasn't make a dent. *And* I had failed to notice the "water-resistant" cover feature - which, for a puppy, has been a lifesaver. I know the interior of the bed is machine washable, but we haven't had to avail ourselves of that since the pup's pee hasn't been able to penetrate the cover. Love love love this bed and cannot say enough about it.
  • Great durability! Review by Matt (Posted on 3/30/2015)

Bought this bed because our dog has anxiety attacks while my wife and I are at work about once a month. Each episode he's completely destroyed previous beds. I bought this one hoping to rid myself of the problem of buying new beds every month or so. What a difference. Now if he happens to flip out, all he does is toss this bed all around the room. I've come home to it in all different spots, but every time, it looks completely unscathed.

My only disadvantage to this bed, and this is merely personal, is that due to the slick-like fabric used, when my dog gets up in the middle of the night to readjust his position, it is LOUD. The first time he moved at night when we got it, it woke both my wife and I up, and sounded like someone was trying to tear down the screens in our window. That being said, to combat it, when we bring the bed in the bedroom for the night, we toss a blanket over it to muffle the sound of he gets up. It works just fine and although we can sometimes still hear him get up and adjust, it's nowhere near as loud as when it was uncovered.

All in all a great product, and I would definitely recommend this brand to friends.

After buying a K9 Ballistics crate pad for our 80 pound Alaskan Malamute, we bought a TUFF Bed for our other two dogs to share... something the Mal wouldn't be able to chew apart if he used it. Months later, despite nearly constant chewing by the Malamute, the bed shows no signs of wear or tear. I highly recommend this product for compulsive chewers and would not hesitate to buy it again, if needed.

My three dogs love this bed! My 11 month old 90+ lb monster Goldenlabradoodle has not been able or even tried to chew through the cover. He did figure out how to open the Velcro when he flips the bed over, and then proceeds to destroy the bed fill. He did not hurt the Velcro or any part of the cover, and that was the result I was looking for in a dog bed. A little corrective training, putting the stuffing back into the cover four times and he has not opened the cover up again, yet...lol

  • So Far, So Good Review by Mary (Posted on 1/28/2015)
    Overall Quality
Our boxer-mix dog has gone through three other beds. He doesn't stop at chewing. He actually eats the bed which means trips to the emergency vet to induce vomiting. I'm worried one day we'll find him too late and they'll have to do surgery. He's had this bed for two weeks and hasn't even considered chewing it. I suspect he can tell he won't have luck so he isn't even bothering. He did decide to mark this bed, twice, and he's never done that before. It has a somewhat strong plastic smell, and I've noticed he tends to mark surfaces that have strong smells. We ordered a medium bed and the stuffing bag doesn't really fit in our washer. The second time I sent it through the washer, the mesh bag that contains the stuffing started to rip apart because our washer really isn't big enough. I'll likely need to order some additional stuffing sacks so I can have them on hand considering I will only be able to wash them at the Laundromat. Overall this seems to be the answer to our difficult bed situation. We also own a Cujo cot. That works fine too, but in the winter he simply can't stay warm enough without a real bed with stuffing.

My 2 beagles have chewed up so many beds, I was buying a new one every week. UNTIL I found K9 Ballistics. It is ingenious to replace the zipper with really strong velcro on the bottom! They used to get into the bed by starting with the zipper. They have never been able to destroy this bed. Unfortunately, I threw the inside into the drier because it was cold out and it melted. THEN I read that it needs to air dry. My Bad. My 2 beagles LOVE this bed.

This is the second set of beds we have ordered. Shortly after we got the first set, one of our dogs tore one of the covers and got into the filling, and K-9 Ballistics replaced it. That says volumes about the integrity of this company. Naturally, when we needed the additional set of two, we ordered these, knowing that they stand behind their product. Lessons learned: Nothing is indestructible, but this product comes close, and they stand behind it.

I was excited to see how the bed held up against my 1 yr old Lab/ Pit mix "Hudson." He's an insatiable chewer when left alone for even a few minutes. I was hoping this bed had "what it takes" to stand up to the beating I knew it was in for. Turns out- after the first time he was left with it he chew (2) holes in the top and side of the cover. Chew Proof?! On the brighter side the bed is very nice and the embroidery with Hudson's name does look very good.
  • Waterproofing is AWESOME Review by Teresa K (Posted on 11/28/2014)

Waterproofing is AWESOME. Having cats with dogs is always a challenge. This morning, after I threw the pack off of me and my bed (because why should we use the dog bed when the people bed is so available), I noticed that one of the cats had decided that the dog bed would make a good litter box ... Got some papertowels and dried the fluid up, opened up the velcro and the filling was completely DRY. Tossed the bed cover into the washer on gentle, threw some OdoBan in the rinse, air dryed it - and it is like new.

Great bed! I have two Labradoodles and one of them was chewing up every bed or blanket I gave him. I bought 1 Large Tuff Bed to try out and they both love it! My chewer doesn't chew it, but loves to sleep on it and the other one who never cared about a bed before suddenly has to sleep on this bed every night. It's a little too small for two doodles, so I am now ordering a second. I highly recommend this very durable bed.

Well we've had this bed for a almost two weeks now and he hasn't chewed it up. He hasn't evan tried for some reason. So far, I am impressed. I would encourage anyone ordering the cover to get a darker color. I got Tan and it shows dirt more...but he is a puppy right now too.

Our greyhound hasn't tried to chew her new bed. She has chewed every bed and blanket except this one. She loves laying on it and looking out the window. *She doesn't let the cats on it, it's all hers! Thanks for a great product! Ed and Donna

  • Heavy Duty Zipper Needed Review by Bill (Posted on 9/27/2014)
    Overall Quality
After two days Max the crazy boxer turned the bed upside down, pulled apart the Velcro opening and had a party with the inside padding. He is now in his cage without a bed. This is his 5th bed he has destroyed. I would think a heavy duty zipper with a flap would solve this problem. The fabric on your cover is top of the line but a velcro opening, a serious design flaw. <br/><i style="color:red;">K9 Ballistics Response - <br/> Please send a photo of the damage to [email protected] We'll send a replacement as soon as possible! When you get the replacement cover, please place it around the existing cover, but stagger the velcro so the inner opening faces up, and the outer cover's opening faces down. That should keep your dog from having another party with the padding material! </i>

This seems to be the only thing in the house that our 2-year-old Freelance bulldog puppy hasn't torn to pieces. Great quality dog bed!

My little Yorki tried digging and biting this bed and stopped almost immediately. He definately has met his match after destroying three beds.I laugh everytime I see him march into his crate, make a couple circles and lay down.Love the bright orange material and knowing that its all washable.Qreat quality and worth every penny I paid!

Bailey tore up 2 beds before getting this one. She drags the bed around but doesn't try chewing it up. It's worth it!

Our Schipperke puppy has destroyed all of his beds and preferred to sleep in a 9 x13 cake pan - which I had for his toys. It was metal, and couldn't destroy it, but he would outgrow it. He tried hard to destroy this bed from K9, but he has now given up, and he sleeps on it! It's more normal and less embarrassing too - what self-respecting dog would sleep in a cake pan? LOL

I have a 21lbs 6month old Boston Terrier who chews on EVERYTHING. I bought the bed 2mths ago. My dog laid down on the bed as soon as I dropped it to the floor, I praised him immediately and gave him the ball that came with the bed. Until this day he loves his bed and it is intact. I have noticed that you can tell where he likes to sleep as the filling is not memory foam.

Got this bed for my 10 mo old shiloh shepard who had already chewed through two beds. When this arrived, I was thrilled to see NO ZIPPER, which is where he always started to chew. The velcro underneath is perfect. The last "chew proof" bed I got last two days. I've had this now for a couple of weeks and not a mark on it! He loves the bed. Hasn't even tried chewing it. SO happy I found this company.....keep up the good work!!
