This is not a chew proof crate pad. The ripstop ballistic fabric is durable and will hold up to wear and tear as well as digging, scratching, and light chewing, but it can be damaged by aggressive or persistent chewing habits.

This crate pad arrives rolled up in a box. A small bag with a set of tie downs is included. The pad is a single unit with no separate cover, so just unwrap and unroll and it is ready for use.

The outer shell of the crate pad is made from 1200D ripstop ballistic polyester fabric, including the black bottom. The inner padding is 100% recycled polyester fiberfill batting.

We will replace the whole pad once free of charge if your dog damages this crate pad in any way within the first 120 days of receipt. Store credit for the value of the pad will be provided instead if a replacement is not desired or available.

Our ballistic material has a DWR treatment on top and a waterproof PU backing applied to the inner surface (original ripstop material only; velvet ripstop does not have these features). These additions will help keep water from soaking into the bed, but seams can be a point of entry for fluid. For that reason, our pads and beds are considered water-resistant, not 100% waterproof. Clean up spills as quickly as possible to reduce the chance of leakage into the bed, and avoid submerging the bed or allowing it to sit in puddled water.

Please note that water-resistance refers to regular water, as in moisture from weather, sprinklers, or water bowl spills. Bodily fluids like urine and vomit are more caustic and can seep past the DWR treatment and PU backing if not wiped up quickly. Frequent exposure to urine or vomit can damage these protective coatings, making the bed more vulnerable to fluids in the future.

Simply wipe the bed down with a damp cloth or scrub away any stubborn spots with soap and warm water. For a more thorough cleaning, machine wash the pad whole in cold water on a delicate cycle and then machine dry on low heat until fully dry. The tie downs will need to be cut to remove the pad from the crate, but you can replace them with standard zip ties.

We do not, but we use standard zip ties. You should be able to find something similar at your local hardware store or through an online marketplace like Amazon.

It depends! If you want to use the tie downs and you want to use them most effectively, you do need to take the tray out first. This exposes the bottom wires of the crate and will give you the best attachment points for the ties. If you don’t want to use the tie-downs or are just attaching them to the side wires (only recommended if your dog is not a big chewer), then it’s fine to place this pad on top of the tray.

Yes, you can! This pad can be personalized with heat-transfer vinyl text as long as you choose obsidian black, blue quartz, sage green, or sandstone as the bed color. Velvet color options cannot be personalized due to the velvet coating.

To add it, just select the option to add personalization, select the vinyl color and font, and make sure to type in what you want to have embroidered. Personalization is case-sensitive and will appear exactly as typed.

This bed is designed to fit standard wire crates but crate dimensions can vary slightly by manufacturer, so make sure to compare the actual dimensions of your crate against those for the pad size you’re interested in. These pads are flexible, so you can squish or fold them a bit to fit into plastic carriers or nonstandard crates if needed.

This pad is actually a single unit (ballistic material stitched shut around the fiberfill interior), and its cover can’t be removed. Because of this, we do not manufacture or sell replacement covers for it.
