This orthopedic crate mattress is built tough! Featuring a heavy-duty ballistic fabric liner that’s significantly stronger than the covers of regular beds, our Tough Ripstop™ Orthopedic Dog Crate Bed mattress won’t break down or wear out, even under hard use and heavy play. The solid foam interior offers firm support for the joints, hips, and spine, making it the perfect crate cushion for older pups or big, heavy dogs.

Comfy—Just what the dog ordered
This review is for the thick mattress only, not the covering, and time will tell how long-lived this is (mattress itself isn't chew-proof), but I'm very pleased with the thickness, supportiveness and perfect size of this piece. I've previously used K9's excellent rip-stop crate pad but it recently had to be pitched after several bad accidents that couldn't be cleaned from the non-removable cover. Although my dog is young this firm orthopedic mattress is very comfortable for her, fits inside another company's covers which I already had, and fits her large crate perfectly. I was happy to find this mattress by itself.

Not for intense chewers
Good for average dog but if you’re looking for a bed for an INTENSE chewer this may not be the dog for you. My 10 month old border collie throw apart the cover and even the bed with 12 hours of having it. Thankfully was given my replacement but he destroyed that one again in 3 hours lol. However quality is amazing, thickness is perfect for dogs who need an orthopedic bed, and love that’s it’s water resistant.

I use the mattress to put in another cover that had a really cheap bed in it. It looks much better and the dogs like it too.
