Bed Covers

If you’ve got a bed that’s starting to look a little old, or if you’ve already got a mattress or extra padding and want something more durable to cover it, you can outfit it with a brand-new cover here.  We've got replacements for all our current bed models, while our Round and Rectangle Tough Ripstop covers can also be used to cover off-brand or unconventional mattresses if the dimensions match up pretty closely. 

All of our covers are made from our proprietary 1200D ripstop ballistic fabric. The tight, dense weave of this heavy-duty material naturally resists water, dirt, and fur; it is also resistant to stains and frequent washing. It’s designed to hold up against rough play, scratching, and digging, and will also stand strong against occasional, mild mouthing and nibbling (if you’ve got a super chewer on your hands, only a Chew Proof Armored bed will do!).

Our standard fabric is treated with a PFAS-free DWR water-repellent coating that causes water to bead on the surface, while an inner coating of PU provides additional defense against moisture. It has a smooth texture with a visible grid-like weave, giving it a tactical look. Our premium finish fabric uses the same ripstop material as a base and is treated with a coating that gives it a faux-woven look to fit in better with your home’s furniture. It’s just as durable as the standard fabric, but since it doesn’t have the same water-resistant treatments, premium finish covers work best for indoor-only beds. 

Each cover features a breathable bottom to keep the bed from trapping air, which is also coated in a nonskid treatment to prevent the bed from sliding when your dog leaps on it. Non-bolstered covers, including the Tough Ripstop Orthopedic Dog Crate Bed Cover, Tough Ripstop Rectangle Dog Bed Cover, and Tough Ripstop Round Pillow Dog Bed Cover, all featured a dual-closure system with a zipper that is hidden behind an industrial-strength strip of hook and loop fastener. Bolster bed covers, like the Tough Ripstop Rectangle Bolster Cover, Tough Ripstop Oval Bolster Pillow Cover, and the Tough Ripstop Giant 7” Orthopedic Dog Bed Cover, on the other hand, feature an exposed zipper that follows along the edge of the mattress. 

When it comes time to wash your cover, simply unzip it and remove it from the mattress. Then zip it back up, right-side out, and wash in cold water on a gentle cycle. Air dry if possible (this will preserve the water-resistant treatments best), or machine dry on your lowest heat setting if needed. Any regular detergents will work fine, but if you’ve got something stronger or are using bleach, we recommend spot testing first in a small spot just to ensure no discoloration.
