This is not a chew proof item. The ripstop ballistic fabric is durable and will hold up to wear and tear as well as digging, scratching, and light chewing, but it can be damaged by aggressive or persistent chewing habits.

This listing is for a cover only, and will arrive as a single item, rolled. Unroll and shake out the bolster walls to fluff them before inserting your round mattress cushion into the center compartment of the cover.

The cover is made from 1200D ripstop ballistic polyester fabric, including the black bottom. There is a textured rubber coating on the bottom of the bed cover to prevent it from sliding. The bolster walls are filled with 100% recycled polyester fiberfill.

Our ballistic material has a DWR treatment on top and a waterproof PU backing applied to the inner surface (original ripstop material only; premium finish ripstop does not have these features). These additions will help keep water from soaking into the bed, but seams can be a point of entry for fluid. For that reason, our covers are considered water-resistant, not 100% waterproof. Clean up spills as quickly as possible to reduce the chance of leakage into the bed, and avoid submerging the bed or allowing it to sit in puddled water.

Please note that water-resistance refers to regular water, as in moisture from weather, sprinklers, or water bowl spills. Bodily fluids like urine and vomit are more caustic and can seep past the DWR treatment and PU backing if not wiped up quickly. Frequent exposure to urine or vomit can damage these protective coatings, making the cover more vulnerable to fluids in the future.

Simply wipe the cover down with a damp cloth or scrub away any stubborn spots with soap and warm water. For a more thorough cleaning, you can remove the bottom cushion and machine wash the cover in cold water on a delicate cycle (for larger bed sizes, you may need to use a laundromat's XL washer and dryer). Make sure to zip up the cover before adding it to the machine. Machine dry on low heat until fully dried.

Yes, this cover is used with our Tough Ripstop™ Round Pillow Dog Bed Mattress, so it's easy to convert. You may need to remove the existing Tough cover from your round bed in order to convert it to the bolster style.

Yes, you can! This cover can be personalized with embroidery. The lettering will appear on top of the bottom cushion compartment near the zipper edge. 

To add it, just select the option to add personalization, select the thread color and font, and make sure to type in what you want to have embroidered. Embroidery is case-sensitive and will appear exactly as typed.
