We're glad to see that they like it, John! Just to let you know, it looks like you've actually got the mattress outside the cover right now—if you check the inner lip of the cover by the front opening, you'll see a hidden zipper. Unzipping that gives you access to the central compartment so that you can slide the mattress in for full ballistic protection.

Can Stand Up to Scratching
I have a 12-year-old senior Vizsla with dementia. During times of disorientation and anxiety, she digs her beds like crazy. I purchased the KP Ballistics elevated bed as a last attempt to offer her a bed that she would not destroy. It is awesome! She can scratch and dig for hours and it has remained in tact. I wish I had known that this bed existed about seven beds ago.
With such great success with the elevated bed, I also purchased the oval bolster dog bed. The fabric is holding up so far, and it is easy to clean. I do wish the bolster went all the way around and it was a little stiffer since my dog likes to lean against it, and she is spilling out over the edge or out the front. Other than that, the rip-stop fabric has been great.

Overall the bed seems much more durable than previous beds my dog has had. It does seem like he's less interested/comfortable in this bed given the texture, although since he doesn't pay for the beds, I'll keep it and see how long it holds up to his nesting habits.
