This is not a chew proof item. The ripstop ballistic fabric is durable and will hold up to wear and tear as well as digging, scratching, and light chewing, but it can be damaged by aggressive or persistent chewing habits. If you have a dog that routinely tears up their bedding or gets separation anxiety when crated, it's best to skip this addition or use it only when your pup can be supervised.

This pillow is made of two components (Tough Ripstop™ ballistic cover and solid foam fill) but is shipped pre-assembled. Simply unwrap, unroll, and strap the headrest to the bed frame to get it set up.

The pillow cover is made from 1200D ripstop ballistic polyester fabric, including the bottom. There is a textured rubber coating on the bottom of the pillow cover to prevent it from sliding. The inner fill is made from a solid sheet of CertiPUR-US polyurethane foam. The foam contains no glue or adhesives.

The headrest pillow is covered under our 30 Day Manufacturer's Warranty, which applies to manufacturing defects only. This is not meant to be a chew-resistant item and is not covered by the 120 Day Warranty.

Our ballistic material has a DWR treatment on top and a waterproof PU backing applied to the inner surface. These additions will help keep water from soaking into the pillow interior, but seams can be a point of entry for fluid. For that reason, this pillow is considered water-resistant, not 100% waterproof. Clean up spills as quickly as possible to reduce the chance of leakage into the pillow, and avoid submerging the pillow or allowing it to sit in puddled water.

Please note that water-resistance refers to regular water, as in moisture from weather, sprinklers, or water bowl spills. Bodily fluids like urine and vomit are more caustic and can seep past the DWR treatment and PU backing if not wiped up quickly. Frequent exposure to urine or vomit can damage these protective coatings, making the pillow more vulnerable to fluids in the future.

Simply wipe the pillow down with a damp cloth or scrub away any stubborn spots with soap and warm water. For a more thorough cleaning, remove the pillow cover and machine wash in cold water on a delicate cycle. Make sure to zip up the cover and keep it right side out before adding it to the machine. Air dry if possible, or machine dry on low heat. Do not wash the foam.

Technically yes, but it may not work as well—this is because the armored crate pad has no legs, so there's nothing to anchor the corner ties to. You can still strap the pillow to the armored pad's frame, but it may end up sliding up and down the frame as your dog uses it.
