Tightly-woven (600D) ballistic fabric is much more durable than the usual flimsy liners that ordinary dog bed mattresses use. It's even stronger than most covers! This liner will resist wear and tear and heavy use with ease, and won't fall apart at the seams. The gray top and sides feature a waterproof backing to protect the foam from moisture.

Please note that an exterior Tough cover is still needed for this bed to be considered chew- and scratch-resistant.

CertiPUR-US Foam

Our pillow mattresses are filled with 100% finely-shredded foam manufactured in the USA. This foam has been third-party tested and CertiPUR-US certified to have been made without formaldehyde, ozone depleters, heavy metals like mercury or lead, PBDEs, CFCs, and other harmful chemicals like phthalates and carcinogenic flame retardants. It’s also certified to be low VOC on emissions, meaning better indoor air quality for you and your pup.

This listing is for the mattress cushion only and does not include the outer Tough cover with bolster walls. It is meant to replace the mattress on an existing bed and should not be used on its own without a cover.

Our pillow mattresses are also produced in accordance with the principles of zero-waste manufacturing—we shred down foam scraps left over from making our orthopedic beds and use them to fill these lofty beds, ensuring no foam gets thrown out.

This is not a chew proof item. The ripstop ballistic liner is durable and will hold up to wear and tear, but it is not as strong as our Tough covers and is not scratch- or chew-resistant without one.

This listing is for a mattress only, and will arrive as a single item that has been compressed and rolled for shipping. It must be unrolled and allowed to expand upon arrival before it can be covered and used. We recommend shaking the mattress out when you first unroll it to help it fluff up faster.

The mattress liner is made from 600D ripstop ballistic polyester fabric, including the yellow breathable bottom. There is a PU waterproof backing applied to the inner surface of the gray top and sides of the liner. The inner chambers of the liner are filled with CertiPUR-US shredded polyurethane foam.

We recommend spot-cleaning when possible, as the liner cannot be separated from the shredded foam. If necessary, this mattress can be machine washed. For larger sizes, we recommend doing so in a commercial-sized washer/dryer at your local laundromat due to the size and weight of the mattress when wet. Wash in cold water on delicate, then machine dry low heat until fully dried. It will likely take multiple drying cycles, since the foam can hold a lot of water. To avoid the risk of mildew, do not cover the mattress until it has fully dried out inside.

No, this mattress does not have the right shape or thickness to fill out a round cover properly. It should only be used with the Tough Ripstop™ Oval Bolster Pillow Dog Bed Cover.

For best results, measure the footprint dimensions of your current bed and select the mattress size option that matches most closely. If you no longer have the mattress, lay the cover out flat on the floor, smooth out any wrinkles, and measure across the widest part of the center in each direction to get the best dimensions.
