Chew Proof
Aluminum Frame

Our Chew Proof Armored™ beds feature a 100% aluminum frame that covers every edge and corner, protecting these vulnerable spots from even the most destructive chewer. The frame also pulls the center fabric tight, leaving your dog with no wrinkles or bunched up material to gather between their teeth.

Ripstop Ballistic
Bed Fabric

Densely-woven (1200D) heavy duty rip-stop ballistic fabric resists punctures and tears from digging and scratching. It has a smooth, slick texture that fur and dirt won’t stick to, allowing you to brush or wipe most messes off with ease. A DWR coating and a waterproof backing keep moisture and odors at bay.

Elevated Comfort
Maximum Support

This lightweight but sturdy bed can hold up to 250 lbs, ensuring that your pup never feels the floor. The fabric sling will conform to your dog’s body like a hammock, eliminating pressure points and providing orthopedic-style support. Elevating the bed also allows air to freely circulate beneath it and keep your pup cool in the summer.

Make it Unique with
Laser Engraving

Show off your pup's personality with our custom laser engraving! You can add your dog's name (handy for keeping track of beds in a multi-dog household) or a short phrase just for fun.

Please note that personalized beds can't be exchanged or returned, so make sure to double check your sizing before placing your order!

Personalization is not scratch- or chew-resistant.

Simple Design for
Streamlined Assembly

This particular armored bed arrives unassembled, so it will require assembly upon arrival. We include the necessary hardware and allen wrench in the package for you, and no other tools are needed. Assembly is straightforward and can usually be completed within twenty minutes for most, but having a friend nearby to provide an extra set of hands can make it even easier.

Printed instructions are included in the box, or you can watch our assembly video to get an idea of how the bed goes together. If you prefer a pre-assembled elevated bed, you can find that here.

Responsible & Sustainable
For People, Pets, & Planet

The frame for our armored beds is made completely from aluminum, including the powder-coated corners. Aluminum is fully and infinitely recyclable and one of the only materials that takes less energy to recycle than it does to produce new material.

We’ve also engineered our ripstop ballistic material to be extremely durable, so this bed will far outlast cheap imitations. That means fewer bed purchases for you, less fuel and energy spent on shipping and manufacturing, and less waste that ends up in a landfill.

Frequently Asked Questions

This bed will arrive as an unassembled frame, four corners, four legs, and a folded fabric center. Follow the included instructions or check out our assembly video to put the bed together. Assembly can be done alone, but is easier if you have a second pair of hands to help you out. A rubber mallet (not included) can also help you close up the corners if you have trouble with that step.

The frame and legs are made from 100% aluminum, including the corners. The bed sling is made from 1200D ripstop ballistic polyester fabric. The sling has both a PU backing to make it water-resistant and a DWR coating to repel water. Each leg has a rubber foot cap to keep the bed from sliding.

This bed is a variant of the original Chew Proof Armored™ Ripstop Elevated Dog Bed. It has been updated to feature thicker legs for improved stability, and the aluminum corners have a silver finish instead of being powder-coated black.

Just like the Chew Proof Armored™ Ripstop Elevated Dog Bed, it has no padding, making it an excellent option for dogs that like to eat stuffing. It holds up against scratching better than the mesh, while still offering cooling benefits. Unlike the mesh, it also features a waterproof backing to help contain spills. This particular bed is also different from the others in that it comes unassembled. Our other armored beds arrive preassembled.

Our ballistic material has a DWR treatment on top and a waterproof PU backing applied to the underside. These additions will help keep water from soaking through the bed, but seams can be a point of entry for fluid. For that reason, our beds are considered water-resistant, not 100% waterproof. Clean up spills as quickly as possible to reduce the chance of leakage through the sling material.

Please note that water-resistance refers to regular water, as in moisture from weather, sprinklers, or water bowl spills. Bodily fluids like urine and vomit are more caustic and can seep past the DWR treatment and PU backing if not wiped up quickly. Frequent exposure to urine or vomit can damage these protective coatings, making the bed more vulnerable to fluids in the future.

Simply wipe the bed down with a damp cloth or scrub away any stubborn spots with soap and warm water. You can also take it outside and hose it down or pressure wash it for a thorough cleaning. Most soaps and detergents are fine, but avoid using bleach—it can damage the frame.

Since this bed has no padding and instead cradles your dog to provide support, it needs to be raised up about three inches minimum from the ground in order to work effectively (bigger, heavier dogs will need more clearance, so larger beds stand taller). While the legs can be removed from the frame, your dog will essentially be on the floor without them and won’t find the bed very comfortable at all.

First, assemble the frame portion of the bed around the fabric center. Do not insert the legs yet. Then remove the plastic pan or tray from the bottom of the crate. You can then slide the bed frame through the crate door at a diagonal before you add the legs. Once it’s in the crate, reach in and add a leg to each corner socket, twisting by hand until tight. Level the bed out and lower it until the feet touch the floor and it is good to go.

Yes, you can! This bed can be personalized with laser engraving.

To add it, just select the option to add personalization, select the font and which side of the frame you want it on, and make sure to type in what you want to have personalized. Personalization will appear in all caps.

For best results, check out our size guide. This bed is designed to fit standard wire crates but crate dimensions can vary slightly by manufacturer, so make sure to compare the actual dimensions of your crate against those for the bed size you’re interested in. The dimensions shown for our beds are exact, and due to their rigid frames these beds will not fit in spaces smaller than their size.

For use outside a crate, measure your dog from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail and use that as the minimum length the bed needs to be for your dog to lie on it comfortably. Remember that the frame takes up an inch of space from each side, so the sleeping area is 2" smaller in each dimension from the total bed size.
