Bed Sling

This heavy-duty mesh sling is made to be extremely durable and will withstand far more wear-and-tear than standard mesh beds. Tiny gaps between the woven polyester allow air and water to pass through, making this an excellent option for outdoor or summer use, or for any dog that tends to overheat.

The open weave of this material can make it more vulnerable to abrasion damage, so it is not recommended for dogs that like to dig.

Square Frame Design
Updated Dimensions

This sling type is intended for our most recent version of the Chew Proof Armored™ elevated dog bed. The "square style" refers to the squared-off frame edges and corners, while the dimensions listed for the sling refer to the frame dimensions. Please double check your existing frame appearance and dimensions to confirm if this sling will fit.

This item is not compatible with older, rounded-corner frames.

Made to Fit
Elevated Armored Frames

The Chew Proof Armored™ Replacement Mesh Fabric is compatible with any of our updated square-style elevated armored bed frames. This sling contains no padding, so the frame must be elevated in order for it to work properly as a hammock and provide comfort.

This listing is for the center bed sling only and does not include the frame or rods. It is meant to replace the sling on an existing armored bed and should never be used by itself.

Responsible & Sustainable
For People, Pets, & Planet

Our heavy-duty mesh is engineered to last longer than traditional fabrics. That means having to purchase fewer beds over the lifetime of your pets, which in turn contributes to a smaller carbon footprint by reducing energy and fuel usage for manufacturing and shipping.

The material is also super easy to spot clean and the sling can usually be hosed off instead of machine washed, saving you on water, detergent, and electricity.

Frequently Asked Questions

This fabric sling is only considered chew proof when installed on one of our Chew Proof Armored™ frames. The "chew proof" part of it comes from the frame, which protects the edges and corners of the material from your dog's teeth and gives your pup no place to latch on. It can be easily chewed up by a destructive dog if left outside the frame.

Please also note that the mesh is not scratch or dig proof. If your dog repeatedly scratches at the bed, they may be able to form a hole that they can then widen by chewing at.

This listing is for the replacement pad sling only, which will arrive folded in the box. No frame or rods are included. If you do not already have an armored frame to use with this pad, please purchase a full Chew Proof Armored™ bed instead.

The sling is made from 100% polyester.

Yes, our frames are standard sizes regardless of sling type, so you can use this replacement sling with any of our square-style bed frames (frames with squared-off corners) of matching dimensions. Since this replacement fabric does not have its own padding, it can only be used with elevated frames. It needs at least 3" of clearance off the ground to effectively cradle your dog and provide comfort.

You can, but only if you also purchase a set of legs. If you have a Chew Proof Armored™ Dog Crate Pad that sits flat on the ground, you must add legs to lift it up when using this sling. Unlike the pad you have now, this sling has no stuffing in the middle and can't provide support unless it is raised up so that it can cradle your dog like a hammock.

You can purchase a set of legs here.

Definitely not! The mesh was purposefully designed with an open weave that allows fluid to pass through with ease. This sling is perfect for use in wet environments, as it will not allow puddles to sit on the surface of the bed.

Simply wipe the fabric down with a damp cloth or scrub away any stubborn spots with soap and warm water. Hosing it down or pressure washing it will also usually get it fully clean.

If you need to do a deep wash, you can remove it from the frame (not included) and machine wash it in cold water on a delicate cycle and then air dry or machine dry low heat until fully dry.

Yes, this sling must be used with one of our Chew Proof Armored™ frames. It is not chew proof on its own, and in fact it has delicate sleeves along the edges that are intended to be covered by a frame. If used outside the frame, these spots will be left exposed and can be easily damaged by even a less destructive dog. It also cannot provide any support on its own, as it contains no padding. Fabric slings used without frames are not covered under warranty.

If you do not already own a Chew Proof Armoredframe, please purchase a full bed here instead.

We do not sell the frames or rods separately, so if you do not have one already please make sure to purchase a full Chew Proof Armored bed instead. You can find them here.

For best results, measure the dimensions of your current frame (from the outside edges of the corners). The dimensions listed for our pads refer to the frame dimensions rather than the actual fabric size, so you'll want to click the option that matches up with your frame's dimensions. Do not base it off the sleeping area dimensions of the pad itself.

You can also check the size listed on the care tag on the underside of the pad (if it has not been removed), or you can review your order history by accessing your account on our site.

To swap out your old sling with a new one, please follow these steps:

  1. Find a friend to help—the mesh fabric has very little give, so it's easiest if one person holds the frame pieces tightly apart while the other installs the corners
  2. Use a 4.5 mm allen/hex key to open all four corners of your bed's frame
  3. Remove the corners and slide the frame pieces off the center fabric
  4. Slide the rods out from the sleeves of the fabric. Do not discard rods. You will need these to put the bed back together, and we do not sell or carry extras
  5. Insert the rods into the sleeves on the new center fabric
  6. Slide the frame pieces over the sleeves
  7. Pull the pieces as far apart as the material allows in order to make room for the corners
  8. Attach the four corners one at a time. For best results, install in a crisscross pattern (i.e. upper right corner first, then lower left, then upper left, then lower right) and tighten the screw by hand only. This will give you extra wiggle room when it comes time to put the last corner on, which can be challenging
  9. Once all four corners are in place and hand-tightened, go back with the allen/hex key and fully tighten all four screws
  10. Insert the legs back into the corners and twist until tight. The bed is now ready for use!

    Our local animal shelter uses

Our local animal shelter uses these beds. I've been buying replacement mats to fix all of the ones with holes in them. This is much cheaper than buying a whole bed. They are not the easiest to put back together but certainly cheaper for the animal shelter.

    Replacement Mesh

Love the Ballistic dog bed and the fact that you can buy the replacement Mesh for them. My guys are very hard on beds, any will chew up all the others.
