Is this bed chew proof?

This is not a chew proof bed. The ripstop ballistic fabric is durable and will hold up to wear and tear as well as digging, scratching, and light chewing, but it can be damaged by aggressive or persistent chewing habits. The end bolster and the exposed zipper along the bottom edge of the bed can also be vulnerable points for clever chewers. If you have a dog that routinely tears up their bedding, please consider one of our Chew Proof Armored™ beds instead.

What comes in the box?

This bed arrives in two parts: Gray and yellow giant bolster orthopedic mattress, rolled. Tough Ripstop ™ ballistic giant bolster bed cover, folded. Typically found at the bottom of the box. To assemble, simply unroll the mattress and allow it to expand. Then put the cover on, close up the zipper, and it is ready to go.

What is this bed made from?

The bed cover is made from 1200D ripstop ballistic polyester fabric, including the black bottom. The inner mattress has a 600D ripstop ballistic liner made from polyester and the rectangle orthopedic mattress is made from a solid sheet of CertiPUR-US polyurethane foam. The foam contains no glue or adhesives.

What does the warranty cover?

This bed actually comes with two separate warranties: 1. 120 Day Chew Proof Warranty Applies to the outer cover only If your dog damages the bed in any way within the first 120 days of receipt, we will replace the cover once free of charge. Store credit for the value of the cover will be provided instead if a replacement cover is not desired. 2. 10 Year Won't Flatten Warranty Applies to the solid-foam mattress only If the orthopedic mattress loses support or flattens within 10 years of the original order date, we will replace the mattress once free of charge. Is this bed waterproof?

Our ballistic material has a DWR treatment on top and a waterproof PU backing applied to the inner surface (original ripstop material only; velvet ripstop does not have these features). These additions will help keep water from soaking into the bed, but seams can be a point of entry for fluid. For that reason, our pads and beds are considered water-resistant, not 100% waterproof. Clean up spills as quickly as possible to reduce the chance of leakage into the bed, and avoid submerging the bed or allowing it to sit in puddled water. Please note that water-resistance refers to regular water, as in moisture from weather, sprinklers, or water bowl spills. Bodily fluids like urine and vomit are more caustic and can seep past the DWR treatment and PU backing if not wiped up quickly. Frequent exposure to urine or vomit can damage these protective coatings, making the bed more vulnerable to fluids in the future.

How do I clean this bed?

Simply wipe the bed down with a damp cloth or scrub away any stubborn spots with soap and warm water. For a more thorough cleaning, remove the outer cover and machine wash in cold water on a delicate cycle. Make sure to zip up the cover and keep it right side out before adding it to the machine. Air dry if possible, or machine dry on low heat. Do not wash foam.

Can this bed be used in a crate?

Our giant beds are not sized to fit crates and are not intended for crate use, and the orthopedic mattress is too firm to easily fit into smaller spaces. If this bed is forced through a crate door, it will most likely take up most of the space inside the crate and be very hard to remove later. Can I personalize this bed?

Yes, you can! This bed can be personalized with embroidery. To add it, just select the option to add personalization, select the thread color and font, and make sure to type in what you want to have embroidered. Embroidery is case-sensitive and will appear exactly as typed.

For best results, check out our size guide. While we do provide size suggestions based on breeds, every dog is unique and we strongly recommend measuring the length of your dog and comparing it to the bed’s length to ensure the best fit.

Great Dane Love it
Bought this bed for our 9 year old Great Dane. He needs a big bed and a supportive one in his geriatric years. He likes to rub his face on it and it’s easy to wipe off any eye goobers.

Worth so much more!
I have a 220 lb Alabai/Kangal (Aksaray Malakli), and this is my 3rd bed from K9 Ballistics. ( I have one in every room). Anything to help the joint health and to help alleviate the hygrometer frequently found on giant breeds. I often put the 7" and the 7" bolstered together for a larger bed, as he is a big guy who moves a lot in his sleep. So far, the material utilized in these beds has held up better than I could have hoped, and I am relieved that should another cover be needed I can simply buy a replacement t from K9 Ballistics.

Big dogs need big beds (XL)
My 140 pound Rottweiler LOVES his new bed! Everything other bed we’ve tried just wasn’t strong enough due to his size and weight. Notice how the mattress doesn’t bottom out when he stands on it? That’s the difference between a quality dog mattress and a dog pillow. This will be great for his health in the long run! Sure it’s 300 dollars but the vet bill for hip and other joint issues would be a lot more. Giant doggo dad approved!

I love my dog Utah's
I love my dog Utah's new K9 ballistics bed, in fact I can't keep him off of it! He is a 126# Rhodesian Ridgeback and I love the 7 inches of orthopedic foam which gives him the support he needs. He can stretch out and still have plenty of room. I also love that it is personalized just for him... worth every penny 😀

🐾 Great Danes and human parents approved!
Our Danes love the Giant Bolster bed so much we added a second bed so they didn’t have to share. Our original bed is 4.5 yrs old and in excellent condition. It’s hard to tell which bed is the new vs the original Dane bed. It’s parent approved! Grab a blanket and join your pups bc it’s comfy! It’s digger proof! One of our Danes loves to dig and the bed isn’t damaged from his extreme digging.
