This blanket is built to last! While this blanket does utilize the same ripstop ballistic fabric of our Tough beds, the relatively thin and flexible design makes it easy for a destructive chewer to get between their jaws and work away at. For this reason, the blanket is not considered chew resistant and should not be left unattended with dogs that tend to chew.

Densely-woven (1200D) heavy duty ballistic fabric resists punctures and tears from digging and scratching. A fuzzy polyester coating makes it soft and quiet to the touch. This blanket is reversible with velvet ballistic fabric on both sides—it has a light gray velvet color on one side, and dark gray velvet on the other.

That means having to purchase fewer products over the lifetime of your pets, which in turn contributes to a smaller carbon footprint by reducing energy and fuel usage for manufacturing and shipping. It also helps keep cheaper pet beds and supplies from clogging up our landfills.

Frequently Asked Questions

This is not a chew proof item. The ripstop ballistic fabric is durable and will hold up to wear and tear as well as digging and scratching, but the flexible and relatively thin design makes it easy for a chewer to get it between their jaws and work at it until they do damage. Do not leave destructive chewers unsupervised with this blanket.

This blanket is a single unit, and will arrive folded up in a small box or shipping bag. No assembly is required upon arrival; just unfold and it is good to go.

Both sides of the blanket are made from 1200D ripstop ballistic polyester fabric with a velvet coating that is also made from polyester.

This blanket is covered under our 30 Day Manufacturer's Warranty, which applies to manufacturing defects only. This is not meant to be a chew-resistant item and is not covered by the 120 Day Warranty.

The velvet material for this blanket will resist water to some extent, but it doesn't have the DWR coating that our beds do. As such, water might have a hard time soaking into the material at first, but if it sits long enough, it can get through. While this blanket might offer some protection for furniture against incontinent pets, we recommend laying something fully waterproof under the blanket when in use, just to be safe.

Simply pick the blanket up and shake it off outside to dislodge excess fur and dirt. Running your vacuum's hose attachment over the blanket will also quickly remove fur, dust, and other debris. For a more thorough cleaning, machine wash the blanket in cold water on a delicate cycle. Air dry if possible, or tumble dry on low heat.

Definitely! The blanket has a soft texture that makes it cozy for your dog to lie on. The fabric is thicker and stiffer than traditional blankets, so bear in mind that it may not be as easy to cuddle in as a fluffy throw. This blanket is not chew resistant, and should not be left unattended in a crate with a chewer.

The easiest way to figure out what size works better is to mark out a space on your floor that matches the dimensions of the size you're considering. That'll allow you to get a visual on how much surface it can actually cover so you can evaluate if it will work for you.
